We had the great pleasure to live seven weeks in this beautiful wooden house of Antonella, surrounded by trees, with the fantastic location a few meters from the lake. It has everything you need, very good beds and a cozy ambiance. Being lucky enough to be able to watch the bald eagles from the lake in a kayak, or the evenings on the terrace when a concert of animal noises is going on all around, remain unforgettable. The dog Clyde and the cat Pirullo - both close friends - give a lot of pleasure, are very affectionate to people and like to be petted and groomed. Unfortunately, they do not get along so well with Numa, the second cat, who therefore tends to withdraw; but after a short period of acclimatization, she too was happy to let us caress her and brush her fur. Despite the wooded surroundings, walking Clyde in this community area tends to be on the gravel roads and streets rather than the trails, because - you have to be prepared for this - ticks and chiggers can get to people and animals (Clyde is sprayed on legs, belly and neck each time, which works well!); in the process, you see deer and various other animals every day. However, we (also well prepared) didn't let this stop us from hiking on numerous trails and excursions in the beautiful nature all around - e.g. the well-known Fall Creek Falls State Park with several waterfalls and trails is only about 20 minutes away by car. We were thankfully allowed to use Antonella's cars - you can't get around here without either; shopping facilities are at least a 30-minute drive away. Antonella has been very thorough in her welcome guide to all the important points and has named neighbors for specific assistance, but also answered other questions of all kinds via WhatsApp immediately. We experienced the very friendly and helpful members of the community, who are united by the joy of living in this beautiful environment, as a special feature in "Long Branch Lakes". On Wednesdays and Fridays you can have lunch at the General Store and - as on other occasions - meet fellow residents; we had very good, enriching contact with a number of them. Despite the long journey from Germany, we would very much like to come again, should we have the opportunity - we have already been invited. We are very much in favor of having spent a wonderful time here!
