I recently had the pleasure of house and pet sitting in Novato, California for Abbie and Ben. They have a wonderful home in a great neighborhood in a lovely city North of San Francisco. It was a pleasure to meet them both. They were very welcoming and made me feel like an old friend. Their young cat, JoJo, is a sweet boy and was easy to care for, but he is wary of new people, so you should be sure to give him space and he will gradually warm up to you. All in all, a wonderful experience.
This was such a lovely sit. I highly recommend pet sitting for Callie and Zoe if you have the chance. Blake and Lisa were the best hosts. They were communicative, easy to reach and incredibly kind and thoughtful. Callie and Zoe are such sweethearts, I absolutely adore them! Callie is energetic and chatty. She loves being pet, sitting next to you on the couch and following you around the house. Zoe is a sweetheart. She has arthritis so she is a little slower but loves to cuddle in bed with you at night. She got a bad UTI during my sit and I took her to the vet, but I think that’s very common for elderly kitties. Blake and Lisa were really communicative and helpful with scheduling the vet appointment and making sure she was well taken care off even though they were abroad. Blake had me give her some anti-anxiety meds before taking her to the vet which made the process really easy. I appreciated how response and easy to reach both Blake and Lisa were. Blake and Lisa’s home is lovely, and Takoma Park is so charming. They are walking distance from a metro stop, Whole Foods, two cute independent books stores (Peoples Books and Busboys and Poets), and some great coffee shops (Lost Sock and Takoma Beverage Co are my favorites).
What a great 6 weeks we’ve had looking after the gorgeous Orla for Tom and Sarah. Orla was a real pleasure to look after, she is very well behaved on walks, loves a run and long walk on Dartmoor! She is a real character and great fun. Tom and Sarah’s house is beautiful, on the edge of Dartmoor so a perfect starting point for wonderful walks. Tom and Sarah were really friendly and welcoming, gave us all the information we needed for our stay, even introduced us to their friends in the village. They were very accessible when we needed to contact them during their time away. We would have no hesitation in returning to look after Orla again or recommending this sit to anyone else.
For the most part I really enjoyed this sit. Lorri was very clear about her expectation and seemed relaxed and trusting. When the Internet went down, initially due to a systemwide outage, she even offered that she find another sitter if I needed to leave. Lorri's assistant was in town andvery helpful. The cats were a pleasure. TK requires a bit of extra care due to her disability but in the end she was probably my favorite. The only thing that I thought could have been better was the overall condition of the home. While it was generally clean, it was a little cluttered for my taste and some of the outdoor furniture could use replacement.
This is a great sit! Pigeon is an awesome dog, super happy, chill and easy. If you like design and aesthetics, this house is on point. It's a wonderful neighborhood, beautiful yards and the people in the neighborhood are happy, friendly and awesome. You can't beat it!
