DeeDee
It was lots of fun to house/dog sit for Deedee! Deedee was very kind and welcoming, and she was very thorough and clear with her welcome guide and in person. It was our first dog sit through THS, and we were truly blessed that it was Dom and Annie, happy, beautiful Tibetan terriers, easy to take care of, who really appreciated our company and loved to be cuddled! I was so happy when more shy and reserved Annie decided to sit next to me on a couch on our second day together! Deedee's home is beautiful, and it is in such a nice neighborhood, where we met lots of friendly people during our dog walks. We had a short but great time sitting with Dom and Annie and we surely miss them already! Thank you again for such a wonderful opportunity! Best wishes for all three of you! Narae and Chanil

Looking after Chopper was the easiest sit we have done as Chops is a self-contained fellow and mostly pretty easy.

The only challenge Chopper-care presented was a0 enticing him off the couch to go on his walk (he's a lazy-maisy) and when Chopper decided he had had enough of his walk (he'd done his business and had plans to get back on the couch after his breakfast or dinner). Huw advised us he had a stubborn streak and I confidently replied I would out-stubborn Chopper. LOL. I used treats (that may be bribery) to get him to walk on when he locked those strong legs of his and would not move. Taking him for walks that were not his usual ones also made him less opinionated about direction. Chops was great in the car and we particularly liked walking him around Digby Reservoir.

Chopper liked to be close to whoever was in the room and likes pats. He seemed sad, particularly in the first week. I guess that's because Huw and he are a tight-knit duo and he missed his person. Or it could have been all the shit weather and the realisation that I WAS gonna make him walk in the rain.

The house was spic and span when we got there and the bedroom was comfy. It is a two-up, two-down terrace and when both of us were working it was a bit of a tight fit. On the days when the sun come out, I moved out to the Summer House and it was cosier than working in the kitchen.

Huw was helpful at giving us tips where to walk in and around Holmfirth. Holmfirth is a great little town with everything you could want (three supermarkets). It rained too much, but that's Yorkshire for you!!

Communication was great - we had a WhatsApp group and exchanged daily messages and updates. We enjoyed our first night with Huw - he's travelled lots and has lots of interesting tales and a good sense of humour. Whenever we had a question about how something worked, Huw got back in contact with us as quickly as he could.

I recommend the sit. Chops is a lovely boy. We're grateful to Huw for the opportunity to look after him and the house.

Kerry
We had a lovely couple of days looking after Hamish and Gus. Hamish and Gus are both friendly characters who are very easy to look after and a pleasure to walk . We took our Mini Schnauzer Teddie and they all got on brilliantly playing catch in the garden and out on our walks, speaking of which the countryside is stunning. Kerry was relaxed and very welcoming and communication throughout was quick. We stayed in the cottage, which was very comfortable and spent the daytimes in the main house, which is beautifully decorated and a gorgeous family home. Thank you Kerry for an enjoyable stay and hope we an come again.

Enzo was a gorgeous, well-trained dog with a lot of affection and energy. And the kitty cats were very easy, cute and friendly. Loved the house, the area, and Jess and Nick were amazing with communication, hospitality and kindness. Highly recommend.

Richard & Sonya
We were welcomed into Richard and Sonya's lovely home and they had obviously thought carefully about everything we needed to know whilst looking after Marple, Moose and the chickens.
Moose is very independent and preferred to spend a lot of time outside during our stay. She would often be already waiting for her meals at the usual times and thanked us with a little meow which was very sweet.
Marple is one of the most gentle and affectionate cats we have ever known and she would be looking for a lap to sit on at every opportunity. It seems no amount of cuddles would be too much for her.
The chickens were very straightforward to look after and it was a treat to have so many fresh eggs.
The garden was looking fantastic at this time of year and we enjoyed the job of watering several outdoor pots and greenhouse plants.
The house is in a superb area for local walks and we visited nearby Dunster Castle too.
