Thomas, Gabi, and Amon and the house are all wonderful! Amon was very friendly with me right from the start, and his parents welcomed me with cake and pleasant conversation, and gave me an in-depth tour of the house and everything I needed to know. They made sure the guest room was ready and that I had no questions before they left. Amon is a friendly, mellow older dog who spends most of his time quietly resting in the house, but has lots of energy and excitement on walks! Not a barker, no problems with pedestrians or other dogs. He occasionally tries to eat trash or isn't careful around cars, so you still have to be attentive in the streets, but you can walk him in the forest near the house, and then it is a very relaxing, enjoyable experience. He is friends with some of the neighborhood kids and it's a joy to see them run up to greet him. Caring for Amon and the plants takes about 2 hours a day, and Amon is fine on his own for six hours at a time, so there is plenty of time to go into the city once or twice a day, although it does take about an hour each way. The home is also right next to grocery and convenience stores, a mail depot, and a few small bars and restaurants. I found the home and yard so pleasant that I ended up spending a lot of time just relaxing by the pool or in the hammock, often with Amon coming over for pets for part of the afternoon. All in all, I highly recommend this housesit with kind people and a sweet dog, and I enjoyed it so much I will be sitting for them again!
