We love Puptown for our Jarvis. He is always SO excited when we arrive and happily exhausted from playing all day. We use both daycare and overnights and we always feel confident our baby is in good hands. Also love that they do an initial evaluation to ensure fit and safety. Thanks Puptown!
PupTown is fantastic! I am very glad I found them. My puppy loves coming to daycare a couple times a week, he always plays a lot and comes home very tired, but happy! The staff is great, I love that they work with the dogs to minimize barking and other behaviors. Their facility is also indoors which is very nice!
Many of our neighbors who have dogs, board their canine family members @ Puptown, have for many years, and give Shasta and the entire team, rave reviews. We recently had our giant rescue puppy, Koda, evaluated by Puptown (he passed) and have been having Koda spend some half days, full days, and a few days and nights being boarded at Puptown to get Koda acquainted with the staff, facility, and other pup guests. Koda has had a great time and comes back happy and tired from all of the canine play sessions @ Puptown. We have found Puptown to also be very clean and focused on hygiene, which is great. Thanks, Shasta and Team! You all do great work and provide excellent service.
Our Cattle Dog German Shepard mix, Aviva, has been going here for over a year now. She’s always so happy and excited going in, and happy when we pick her up! It really is a safe space, play place for her! She’s leash reactive while on walks, but at Puptown, she loves to play with all the dogs at all sizes! Her fun and loving personality really comes out :) The staff of course, is always amazing!
Outstanding day care for our Australian Shepherd, she’s been going here for over 2 years once a week and loves it. We’ve boarded her a few times with no concerns. The entire staff is wonderful, caring and loving to all that goes there. Highly recommend this facility for your pets care!
We've used Puptown's services since they opened. They have treated our dogs like family. Its an amazing feeling knowing we have trusted friends at Puptown to take care of our fur babies. Thanks so much to the entire Puptown team!
We boarded Nomi here overnight for two nights to spend Pride in the city. She had a great time. We got to see photos of her enjoying the stay and playing happily. Nomi is here often and loves this place like home. Highly recommended for any and all dog care concerns. This establishment is humane, kind, diverse and sincere. We love them. 💖
My dog got kennel cough from another dog after first stay here. It happens, nobody's perfect. But I can't say I trust them to take care of my dog again after this. (And the price doesn't look so great after you add in the vet bills...) Customer service was really friendly and responsive during the evaluation/booking/checkout. Fast, too. They seem pretty flexible if you need that, which I did, but you're rolling the dice on safety.
It was a nice friendly place. My dog seemed to like it. He was only there for 5 hr day boarding. I would like it more if it had an outside play area and/or if it were more spacious.
My pet baby has been going for day care for the past year. Love the attention that he receives there. Always happy to go in. Lots of fun activities are arranged. Love it here.
I am so pleased with Happy Hound dog boarding services. My mixed breed, fixed pup has been boarded at this facility for 3 to 5 nights at a time since I rescued him in August 2023. I love the staff! So many kind, friendly, competent people. Buddy loves his extended family! He is always so excited to meet and hang out with new friends, and full of energy and happy when we reunite. The rules are very clear, and easy to follow. We appreciate the care given to placing Buddy in the most appropriate hangout group. Love the report cards, photos, and the live Webcam. I value feeling secure about my Bud when I have to be away , and the location makes it so easy to access.
I meant to add some comments to my review that I just posted but I hit the return button too soon! I wanted to say that today I brought Boo Boo, our new dog in for an evaluation and was so impressed with not only the facility, but the staff. All the dogs there were busy and having fun and I will definitely be bringing Boo Boo here when we leave daycare or boarding. Another Happy customer for Happy Hound!
Our pups Cy and Luna love going to Happy Hound for doggy daycare and boarding. The staff are superb and we couldn’t ask for a better team to care for our beloved dogs. We’ve used their training program for both dogs and it is worth every penny spent.
Amazing facility and super friendly and welcoming staff. My dog has moderate to severe separation anxiety, and after just two days of daycare now LOVES going to Happy Hound. The first day, she barked and jumped at the door awhile, and the second day she relaxed and even made a friend! The webcams are such a thoughtful and fun addition to the experience so that the humans can see how much fun their dogs are having. I am so grateful for the attentive staff who assured me and my husband that our fur baby would do well and thrive at daycare. So happy we found this incredible place!
It was very easy to find information online and also call to ensure I understood the requirements and timeline. Once I was able to book the assessment, Sabrina greeted us and was very sweet to my dog! It was our first time ever at a daycare so my dog was very hyped. Sabrina gave me a tour and facilities were very clean and all dogs seemed very happy to be there. Personally love that you can watch the dog spaces live on their website.
Absolutely love Happy Hound! I’ve used them for daycare, boarding, training and grooming. No matter the service, dogs LOVE going there - they get so so excited when we pull in the parking lot. And I love how tired and happy they are when I pick them up :-) highly recommend!
Happy Hound is an exceptional place! Shortly after adopting our dog in 2018 we enrolled him in their 2 week training program and we had great results. Over the years we took our dog to daycare regularly with occasional boarding visits as well. I cannot think of a single complaint, and can only think of the many times their outstanding staff have treated our dog (who has some challenging behavior issues) with great love and care. They went above and beyond and even got us in touch with a vet who could accommodate him knowing he would be a difficult patient. Their work speaks for itself, our dog was always excited to go to daycare. Also how cool is it you can check their webcam to see your pup having a good time? We no longer live in the area but I am writing this review in hopes that their staff read it and feel a sense of pride and accomplishment in their work. They really made our dog's life better and we will always be grateful to them for that.
This spot has always been great for our pooch and their updated facility has plenty of safe, clean space for our 12y/o big guy with two ACL repairs. This was our first time leaving him more than a few days. I was apprehensive leaving him for a week and a half but they were awesome about letting us hold the dates without stress and when he lost a couple pounds within the first few days (apparently very common even if they’re eating well since he’s so accustomed to lazy days and less stimulation) they notified us (via text which was awesome) and asked if they should make any adjustments to his feeding. They even allowed us to ship his normal food there via Amazon to up his portions a bit instead of pressuring us into buying their toppers which would have also been a fair option. Really impressed with this place and their prices are totally reasonable for the great work they do for our fuzzy family members.
Cleopatra our Great Dane spent 3 weeks at Happy Hound for training. She was treated very well and came home in excellent health and spirits. The training is effective and she behaves better now.
My furbaby, myself and my hubby LOVE this place. It became my dog's second home. They have been a homesaver! We rescued a puppy this May, and then suddenly..stay at home dogdad needed to go on a business trip. Happy Hound welcomed our puppy with welcome arms. She made fast friends and is so happy to go there. She gets lots of exercise, stimulation, and safe play time. They have an excellent user friendly client portal that allows you to book boarding, daycare, spa treatments, training and more! We currently are doing a 14 day dream doggie training program. Her graduation is Sunday and we have lovedthe experience so far. We get regular pics, vids, and updates. She looks extremely happy and focused. We were able to get so much done around the house while she was out, and have the comfort of mind knowing that she's in expert loving hands! Would absolutely 💯% recommend this place. My neighbors all know of it and are jealous that we got in! It's a local legend. Best of all.. she knocks out.. sleeping so soundly when she comes back home!
Summary: Nice people with good intentions, but missed a HUGE health issue while boarding my pet For a while I was happy with Citizen Canine. They're nice folks who generally care about the dogs. However, the last time I boarded my dogs there, for a period of around 10 days, they missed a huge health issue that popped up with one of them when we were out of the country. During the stay, they contacted me to report that my boy dog wasn't behaving well as he normally did. (Very odd for my sweet fella - red flag #1). They put him into a semi-isolation scenario where he got enrichment with the staff, but didn't get to play with the other dogs, except for his sibling. When I went to pick him up, they reported again that he didn't behave appropriately, and that he stopped being responsive to treats during enrichment with the staff. This was red flag #2. [Anyone who has a clue about handling dogs knows that when a food-responsive dog stops being responsive to food, there could be a serious medical issue]. Then, as they brought my dogs out to me, I was immediately seriously concerned because my boy walked right past me when they brought him out. This was another huge red flag, #3, as I am his person, and he has literally never ignored me. Red flag #4 as we're leaving the lobby is that I notice he's repeatedly sneezing. A few minutes later when I've loaded the dogs into the car and started back home, and I see red flag #5 --- green snot pouring out his nose. And I mean "pouring." We get home --- about a 45 minute drive --- and he starts throwing up. At first I'm concerned that maybe he had an allergic reaction to the scented spray they put on him without my prior consent (I had requested a bath, which they didn't give him --- they admitted to spraying some kind of scented thing on him instead). I ended up taking him to the emergency vet shortly after he threw up, and he was diagnosed with a bad case of aspiration pneumonia. The vet was very concerned. Thankfully with breathing treatments and medication, he recovered within a few weeks. Needless to say, I was extremely worried at the time, and remain disappointed in Citizen Canine. They missed easy-to-spot symptoms that my dog was having a serious medical issue, and jumped to the conclusion that my dog had suddenly developed behavioral issues (after playing and boarding there just fine in the past), instead of recognizing that he was in medical distress. Needless to say, I never took either of my dogs back. I didn't give 1 star because I do believe Citizen Canine is run by well-meaning people who generally treat animals well. However, they clearly have some issues to fix, given that they allowed this to happen.
Seven year old chocolate lab that has never been boarded or left with anyone other than a family member. He got high marks for behavior. Plus he seemed so happy after the daycare experience. He’ll definitely be back. Staff is helpful and welcoming.
5-Stars! 🐶 Nibbles sez: Woof! I love coming to daycare at CC. I get to play with my puppy friends. When it’s nap 😴 time, I have my own private room (not a cage). I also have had a few lessons with the awesome trainer, but during parent-teacher conference, I was called “sassy” because I refused to learn “spin”. All of the staff are amazing 🤩. My happy 😃 place when mom has to go to her office.
We’ve been using CC for boarding several years now after another place turned us down. Our rescue dog can be skittish and get overwhelmed around other people and dogs, but she’s found her home away from home. CC has shown her nothing but love, tenderness and quality care.
Bentley attended the Puppy academy and loved it! He was so excited to return each day. I have seen a difference in his behavior with responding to commands. CC is highly recommended!! The staff is outstanding with the puppies.
My husband and I loved everything about Citizen Canine. After one of our two chihuahuas got denied from other boarding places we decided to expand our search across other cities in the Bay Area. After reading some reviews we decided to go with Citizen Canine even though it's a 45 minute drive. From start to finish, the staff was very professional and truly caring. Our dogs connected with staff and other dogs (yay) and we just couldn't believe the difference between other places and Citizen Canine. Not only were our dogs cared for, we could tell that they had fun and the staff built their trust. When picking our dogs up the manager Timothy kindly put sweaters on our dogs (chilly day) and we were in awe since one of our dogs does not make it very easy to put a sweater on...LOL. We can't wait for our dogs to go back to meet their old and new friends but also get more love and care from the impeccable staff. Overall, we are just grateful that a place like this exists for our two little fur babies. Thanks!!! :D
My dogs love coming to Citizen Canine! The staff is friendly and attentive and I can tell they take good care of the pups. They are also very helpful when I call to ask questions or check on the dogs during their stay. I am very happy to have Citizen Canine nearby for boarding and daycare when needed!
our dog loves citizen canine. he gets excited when he sees the building from our car. we take him here for boarding and daycare. we’ve also done the training (dog academy) with them, and appreciated the feedback reports and homework. the staff is very friendly and kind. you can tell they take great care and love the pups.
Great clean and well organized facility run by staff who love dogs. Training was really helpful for my puppy. I like they group dogs by size and temperament for play time. My dog loved going to the training academy and still loves going to daycare. He comes back home calm and well behaved. I would highly recommend.
Great experience! My senior dog has a regimen of meds and supplements and they took all my notes and took great care of my guy! They even have this adorable chalk board out front that welcomes the pets coming in, and says farewell to the pets getting picked up. My dog got a report card at the end of his stay about how he handled everything. My dog was happy at the end of his stay, so we'll definitely be back and will try some of the add on packages that they offer. :)
