Brooke was fantastic! She and her adorable dog, Oliver, took great care of Zoe and of our house. Oliver seemed to give Zoe (14) a new lease on life! My neighbor even commented that she had never seen Zoe with such a pep in her step on her daily walks. Also, Brooke figured out a way to get Zoe to take some much hated medication. Our house was clean when we returned and Brooke even went the extra mile and picked up yard debris from the storms that occured while we were away. She was very communicative while we were away, so I knew things were going well and did not worry a minute. I have already talked to Brooke about a return sit. I really hope that works out. I highly recommend her and feel lucky she chose us!
We loved pet sitting for Molly and Jaq! Sarah's dogs were a delight. I still miss them. The house is about a 45 drive and an hour commute into DC, so it's a doable day trip. The house was sweet with plenty of great movies to watch in their cozy downstairs TV room. The dogs were wonderful, so love able and sweet. Sarah was great to communicate with. Thor and Whiskey were absolute darlings and I'd sit for them again in a heartbeat! They love to snuggle and play outside in the backyard (which is huge by DC standards!). I was home most of the day working remotely and they snoozed most of the time; no interruptions of any meetings, etc. The pups were also very respectful while I was eating (some longing eyes but no begging, yay!). They are very well behaved on walks and walk well together and separately. The neighborhood is very cute and safe; no qualms going for walks at night. The neighbors are also very friendly and helpful. Whiskey can occasionally get a bit too barky with passers-by while out in the front yard, but is easily coaxed inside with a treat. He's very valiant in his efforts to be a tiny guard dog! :-D They will get you up for breakfast by 6am but will also come back to bed with you afterward for the extra Zzz's if you need them (and I always needed them, haha). :-D It was a great sitting experience start to finish!
It was so fun to experience life in downtown Charleston. Itty bitty Stacey was just the most loveable and irresitable creature. She is a great little walker and quite popular when out and about. Arlo, the curious cat, investigated anything new that came in the door and enjoyed watching the world from his window perches. They relate well and also entertained us with their chase and play activities. Carrie and Nate could not have a more convenient location for anyone seeking a base to explore this historic downtown. It was easy to care for the pets and venture out in stints. We walked to sites and incredible restaurants with ease. We didn't use the kitchen much because we enjoyed the lcoal fare but it was well-equipped had we desired to make meals. We were able to connect with our hosts in advance of the sit which made the hand off on departure day easy. They provided losts of information and answered any questions quickly. We would definitely return to visit again!
Great pet sit over Christmas… wonderful boxer and the morning sunrise from this property were spectacular. Tracey and her family were welcoming.
