Mike and Ariel created a fantastic experience for us. Their apartment is cozy and located in a safe and vibrant Capitol Hill neighborhood just a nice walk to the Capitol and National Mall. The two pets, Bass & Joey, were great companions, easy to care for, fall in love with, and great fun to be with. Parking was easy, with plenty of short-term spots in the area, and free parking on weekends. Our ‘sit’ was a marvelous adventure, which we would gladly do again….and again. Mike and Ariel communicated promptly, helpfully, and easily. The instructions and guidance they provided was very helpful and complete. Bravo!!
From the moment I met Jackie and David, I felt like family. They WELCOMED me into their home and treated me to dinner and then breakfast. Jackie is a great cook and the kitchen was well stocked with seasonings and spices, and every cooking accessory one might need. My room was super clean, comfortable, quiet, and had an attached private bathroom. Jackie is a unique, kind, generous, and well traveled person. She is gifted with extensive knowledge and life experiences. Conversing with Jackie was very enjoyable. Jackie is well organized and provided a helpful manual. Mittens is a loving joyful pet with a fun personality. Lagun has a playful puppy heart. If a dog could be considered a gentlemen, that is the term I would use for Lagun. On our initial walk, my foot caught the side of an uneven sidewalk and I went flying. Lagun was understandably significantly STARTLED. I was surprisingly able to stay erect. After gaining my composure and balance, and Lagun had vocalized his shock, I looked at him and his eyes were apologetic, as if to say, "I'm sorry I got scared and didn't protect you. Are you okay?" My stumble wasn't even his fault and he was so compassionate and gracious. I reassured him everything was good and off we went. Lagun likes fully body massages, and kept giving me his paw to ask for MORE! He is extremely polite and obedient. Jackie and David are kind hosts, and their home is nicely decorated and very comfortable. The neighborhood is safe and lovely. Walking/Running trails are only a short distance away. It was a blessing to meet these hosts and watch their home and pet family.
We had a very tranquil , enjoyable sit , with 2 lovely labradors and fabulous gardens in a beautiful area of Fife ! Fi was very organised and gave us lots of helpful info and even though she'd lots to do she very kindly made us a lovely supper ! We would highly recommend this house sit and we really miss Cola & Poppy !
Carol and Alan were so welcoming, had breakfast waiting for me on arrival and talked me through everything I would need to know for looking after Tommy, the house and getting around Perth. Tommy himself is lovely and very easy to care for. He spent a mix of time chilling in the house and out exploring and it was lovely to have his company.
We had a terrific time with Kinky! She is a sweet and super playful kitty and it was fun to watch her zoomy shenanigans around the house. Chris and Anne are wonderful people - friendly and interesting, and we enjoyed getting to know them a little over Anne’s home cooked meal! The house is clean and comfortable and situated on a beautiful and private hill in the mountains. There’s tons to do in the area - we recommend seeing Dry Falls and hiking around Cliffside Lake/Ranger Falls and Yellow Mountain via Cloud Catcher Ln.
This was a wonderful sit and I miss Gretchen and the area already! Thank you Lisa for such a memorable time in your home! I truly had a great stay here. Lisa is a lovely person and really made me feel welcome. Quick to respond if needed. Her home is very clean and spacious. The area (Astoria) is fabulous! Near transport, cafes, bars and great places to eat. Not to mention friendly locals. It is only a quick train ride (or ferry!) into Manhattan. Very enjoyable. Citibike very close by also, as well as laundrymats. And Gretchen. Sigh. What a sweetie! She likes her own space at times but does come up for a cuddle and makes sure she lets you know she wants pats. Loves to be brushed and loves her water! If you get a chance to sit for Lisa and Gretchen you will love it! Thank you both for such a lovely stay in your home!
