We have just completed a wonderful ‘sit’ at Greg and Carla’s superb Tyalgum property. From their very first contact with us, our hosts were meticulous in preparing us for the assignment, and quickly made us feel at ease and comfortable upon our arrival. As well as being an aesthetic delight, the property (inside and out) turned out to be very straightforward and easy to manage, aided by plentiful written and oral instructions. And then there were the dogs. Whisky, Maggie and Molly were three unique characters who immediately adopted us as cherished ‘best friends’, and made our lives active and thoroughly enjoyable. We had a ball at Tyalgum and would not hesitate to return should the opportunity arise.
Helen was so lovely and accommodating. Looking after Ari was an absolute dream! She is the sweetest girl and we enjoyed so many cuddles and chats over our stay. Helens place was in a great location, nice and close to everything you could need. I’d love to look after Ari any time and miss her already!
Liv and Miyako were very warm, kind and welcoming on my arrival and made me feel at ease straightaway in their home; it’s been a pleasure to meet them both. Their beautiful home is in a great location and the facilities are perfect for a break. An easy walk to the harbour paths and various parks and there are plenty of restaurants/shops on their doorstep. Genki is a beautiful dog in every way. He is a very energetic intelligent dog that is brilliant on and off the lead. He is well trained, loves to walk, chase a ball and enjoys cuddles. I was left comprehensive instructions about Genki’s routine which was really helpful and before Liv and Miyako left they walked with me to show me the local area. A BIG thank you for your hospitality and making me so welcome. I hope you keep in touch and I am able to look after Genki again. Sarah
We spent a fantastic 3 weeks sitting for Fiona and Matthew - very down-to-earth, thoughtful and interesting people, who have created a wonderful home that we felt thoroughly at home in. The dogs, Ming and Santa, are loving and relaxed, and a joy to be around. We got to experience a bit of the running of the guest accommodation on site, which was mostly a rewarding and interesting experience. Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed the pool, and if we didn't have a baby in the mix we would have made greater use of the tennis court and pool table kindly offered up for us to enjoy. The area is quiet, beautiful and full of farm shops, but to be honest we spent the vast majority of our time in the house and grounds with Ming and Santa! The local meadow is stuffed with butterflies and wild flowers, and reflects the quintessential England of story books. We really enjoyed meeting Fiona and Matthew (and some of their adult children!), and hope our paths will cross again one day.
Melissa's flat is so convenient and beautifully decorated...plus Nala is absolutely adorable. Super easy going, loves sunbathing and sleeping at your feet but also quite independent. Super communication with Melissa and totally recommended.
We throughly enjoyed our time here, especially taking care of two very well behaved & affectionate dogs, Hebe & Inka and one cannot forget about Bella the cat. Bella joined us on our daily walks until she decided enough was enough and went back home. If you are lucky enough to sit here enjoy it as much as we did, the peace, serenity, lake views & the lovely wooded walks, we enjoyed it all. Thank you for sharing your home & pets with us and entrusting us. You made us feel welcomed from the moment we had face to face communication & well before the housesit started.
