Annamaria was accommodating and communicative, she was always prompt in responding even though she was away. Her neighbours are also very nice. The cats, Pongo and Garbatella, quickly warmed up to me. They were curious and affectionate. Garbatella followed me around the house and loved to snuggle. Her home is lovely, the decor is charming and quaint with beautiful paintings around the house. Mission is a wonderful neighbourhood with great cafes and restaurants within walking distance. I enjoyed going to the park which was just a 15-minute walk away. Definitely try the ice-cream around the area- Bi-rite was my favourite. There was also a yoga studio a stone's throw away. Thank you Annamaria & Mario, for a delightful stay.
I loved looking after the incredibly cute Archie and regal Gandalf. They were a breeze with an easy routine. Both pets were very affectionate, snuggling up with me on the couch and on the bed at night. Brooke's home is really lovely and in an absolutely beautiful setting. Everything is there and it's easy to maintain. I met with Brooke before the sit and she is a wonderful communicator- clear and simple instructions and made me feel very relaxed and welcome.
Taking care of the gorgeous Sasha was so easy! While it took her a few days to warm up to me, she was so cute finally getting comfortable enough to sit on my lap in the evening and coming to let me know it was time for breakfast in the morning (her most affectionate time) - though still keeping some distance during the day and letting me know when she was done with me petting her. I just took my cues from her and I think we did great together. She's so soft and fluffy it was a delight when she was on my lap. I appreciated that Jill's place was very clean and neat and therefore relaxing and enjoyable. Her google doc w all the info was very thorough and useful. Of all our cat sits, the pellet litter system with a pee-pad tray was the best, cleanest, least smell of any litter system we've experienced. What a great discovery! We were able to meet a couple days ahead so I could get the lay of the land, which was also great. Thanks, Jillian for reaching out and inviting me to keep Sasha company!
The experience with little Gus at Kelly and Nick's house was fantastic. Gus has a lovely personality, is very affectionate and lively, playful and tireless. He is very good on the leash on walks, you just have to be careful because he tends to pick up from the ground what he finds on the way and he is very quick! He came with us everywhere and even to go to the supermarket we took him with us: one of us went inside while the other one was waiting outside with Gus. He has lots of friends in the park near the house, plays with all the dogs without any problems and he is very docile. Kelly and Nick were very kind and hospitable, they even bought us something for dinner and had some welcome treats in the room. We kept in touch with them easily on a whatsapp group created for the occasion. Their house was very nice, comfortable and clean, in a great location on a canal in an area close to the centre but off the tourist track. If we have the opportunity, we will return with great pleasure!
A fantastic sit! I fell in love with the two adorable cats (the dog was somewhere else). I was very comfy in this vintage home with all the modern luxuries. I connected with one of the wonderful owners, Meghan.
Beautiful people! Beautiful pets! Beautiful home. We had a wonderful sit, looking after Keara and Tyson’s home and beloved dog Mahina and the ever Sassy McSass Sassypants Neptune. Tyson and Keara were incredibly easy to communicate with and wonderful hosts. They made our sit very comfortable and relaxing with a very detailed walk through of the furry and feathered folks routine. Mahina is an absolute dream to walk, no pulling, doesn’t react to other dogs that start hollering at her because she’s obviously a heartbreaker. Neptune will lovingly come seek attention when he wants it but likes to be left to himself in between. The chickens have a simple enough routine. The only downside was that we couldn’t sit for longer because Mahina really did steal our hearts. We wouldn’t hesitate to sit again, and thought so much of our short time with Tyson and Keara to warmly offer them a place to stay should they ever find themselves on an adventure to Vancouver Island. Thank you both again for picking us. Keep in touch. Chris and Kathryn x
