Very well behaved dogs! I had so much fun with them by taking them to hiking and swimming in Truckee River! Maple and Chaka are trail dogs! They are very sweet and living their best life! Very good communication with host along with good recommendations about local places in town! I loved their backyard and found myself reading, drinking coffee, eating and relaxing outside! Very nice pups and family!
We had a great time looking after Iain and Lisa's small-holding near Newcastle Emlyn. The house is an old farmhouse full of character and decorated with an eclectic mix of objects d'art from all around the world. Iain and Lisa were very welcoming and friendly and really interesting people to spend some time with. Iain gave excellent instructions for looking after the animals and provided everything that was needed. The animals were lovely! Characters all! We became very attached to the goats and pigs as well as the dogs and cats. Feeding time was really easy and only took 15 minutes or so once you get into the routine. We collected delicious daily eggs from the chickens, warm fresh milk from the goats and vegetables from the raised beds. The house is quite isolated, down a long track and so very quiet and peaceful and close to nature. However, it is only ten minutes away from Newcastle Emlyn, 30 minutes from the coast and main towns of Cardigan and Carmarthen. This was the first small-holding we have sat for and it was a really interesting insight into a different way of life. Many thanks to Iain and Lisa for giving us the opportunity for a great month to experience a little bit of the Welsh countryside.
