Maine is a special place which Kris describes as her slice of heaven. We couldn’t agree more. The morning ritual of taking Penny to the beach with the wonderful local “walking crew” of friends, neighbors, dog lovers feeds the soul. Ganzy is a loving “purring machine” happy to be picked up and loved. Nearby Portland offers an unbelievable selection of restaurants and cultural events. Foodies, beware! You will be disappointed upon your return home. Kris was extraordinarily generous with her introduction to local resources-yoga classes, museums, best places to park in Portland, etc. Her Welcome Guide is thorough and complete allowing a smooth house and pet sit.
This was my first Housesit on Trusted House Sitters and I’m so grateful that Morgan gave me a chance, I really do appreciate it. My housesit was amazing and the cats were so well behaved. Morgan was also amazing to work with, she is very patient and we constantly communicated with each other. Overall AMAZING Experience 🤩
This was my first housesit and Arnika went above and beyond to make sure I had all the information I needed to be successful. We communicated prior to the sit about travel tips, pet specifics and even any anxieties I might be having about solo international travel. I was fortunate to meet her on my arrival day and get a personal orientation to everything from cat treats to the washing machine. There was even a goody basket of travel supplies I might have forgotten. And if you are lucky enough to sit for Arnika, you will fall in love with Wendy & Miso. Seriously some of the sweetest cats I have ever been around. In addition the apartment is well located and easy to explore all that Barcelona has to offer from there. You do need to be prepared for evening street noise until what I consider “late in the evening”. But not necessarily late by Barcelona standards. Just pack ear plugs. I’m so fortunate that Arnika chose me for this sit and I definitely recommend.
It was absolutely an amazing sit for Julian and Maria in a professionally clean and super comfy home, with the very affectionate and easy-going Roma, spending almost 3 weeks together. The pre-visit had already given me a warm welcome. The communication was all great. Roma did need some attention as she occasionally vomited her hair, Julian and Maria were reasonably understanding, no pressure was felt. As a sitter, I'm always happy to take good care of the pets and a trustful touch base is essential for a good sit. Undoubtedly, this was a great one :)
Basically, couldn't recommend Amy's home more highly. Amy is easy going & welcoming. Breaking it down: Critters - Roux is a wonderful companion. She's considerate, well trained, and playful. Also, she loves being out of the house & great at cafes! We enjoyed taking long walks (1-3 hours) and sitting side-by-side on the grass. She likes sprinting! The more I sprinted with her, it seemed like the less likely she was to lunge at cars. The three parakeets were on the loud side, but if I turned on music, they seemed to like it & be quieter. Home - Amy's home is somehow large and cozy at the same time. The views are beautiful. There's outdoor furniture for relaxing & enjoying the view looking down on the valley. I felt really comfortable in Amy's home. Location - Ashland is a sweet spot! There's a neighborly vibe. Amy's recommendations for places to go were spot on. The mountains, valley, and Lithia Park are gorgeous.
We loved looking after Rocky. She's very sweet and loveable. She was well-behaved, and good off the lead at the local parks. Brooke was easygoing and kept in touch. Her place was very comfortable. We had everything we needed for our stay. There is a balcony off the bedroom which would be great to sit outside when the weather is warmer. Stoke Newington is a great neighbourhood with lots of great cafes and eateries. We had a great time and would love to come back to see Rocky again!
