Lisa was communicative and organised. She sent regular updates and took good care of Abby and Arthur. My home was left tidy and reasonably clean. Thanks Lisa!
FRIENDLY AND DEPENDABLE CARE Barbara was delightful to work with from her first response to our house listing, to waving goodbye as she left. She took great care of our many animals as well as our house, handling several "extras" along the way. Our house, yard, and animals are a lot to keep up with, as we discovered after our kids left for college and weren't around to help. Barbara handled it all quite nicely. We would be quite happy to work with Barbara again and heartily recommend her to anyone looking for great house and animal care. ORGANIZED Barbara has clearly done this before because she reviewed our online housesitting binder before she ever arrived. She showed up promptly when she said she would. We reviewed the binder together and toured the house, introducing her to our two dogs, two cats, two rabbits, and five chickens. She asked questions as we walked, including how often we wanted to hear from her and whether by text, email, or phone call. RELIABLE Barbara showed up exactly when she said she would She arranged to have the yard prepared for the man who came to mow the lawn once a week. She handled a number of minor issues that came up while we were gone, letting us know after she handled them. SELF SUFFICIENT Barbara contacted us when we asked her to, taking care of a number of minor issues and letting us know afterward. She noticed that the baby woodpeckers had cleaned out the suet and bought more. She notice a wet rug in the bathroom and investigated, finding a small leak in the toilet water-supply valve and tightening it with a wrench. (The leaky valve could have caused major problems if she had not been here, noticed, and handled it.) TIDY Barbara left the house in great shape. It was a treat when we walked into the house upon returning from a three-week vacation. The place was immaculate; the counters were clear and all the dishes put away from the dishwasher and drainer. The carpets were freshly vacuumed without a single footprint in the freshly raised knap. PET CARE It was clear from the moment Barbara arrived that she loved animals and was very comfortable with them. They responded to her in kind. The number of animals she cared for was quite a bit for one person to handle, but we knew she did well because when we returned, the cats were content, the dogs were happy, and the chickens were producing eggs. (When one of the cats stopped eating, Barbara bought another brand of cat food, which encouraged the cat to begin eating again.)
