Everything about this house and cat sit was enjoyable. Leesa and Gavin are warm and lovely people. The cats, Claudia and Porcia were very easy to care for. They started out shy but became quite friendly and we had a nice time together. The Annex is beautiful red brick neighbourhood near University of Toronto with big trees, access to transportation on multiple subway lines and lots of restaurants, arts and culture venues and other amenities.
My experience on this pet sit was superb from start to finish. Shannon & Dave are incredibly welcoming and I enjoyed hearing about their adventures and spending time with them. Their beautiful home has spectacular views all around, and the unseasonably warm December temperatures enabled me and Fiona to sit on the deck and enjoy the view every afternoon. For me, it was a welcome opportunity to relax in a beautiful and peaceful location, and yet downtown Steamboat is just 15 minutes away. Fiona is the biggest sweetheart and she was by my side all day, every day. She seems very content with a belly rub and someone to cuddle with. There were some daily farm chores with the horses, cows and barn cats, but it was all very easy to manage and Shannon and Dave walked me through everything in advance. Having not been on a farm in several decades, it brought back lots of fond memories and I would absolutely love to come back again in the future.
It was an absolute privilege to spend an entire month in the company of Eliott, Pamplemousse, Baghera and Maya. Eliott is a very affectionate, sweet “gentleman” dog. He loves his walks, especially when there is a car ride involved. Together we explored countless paths in the French countryside. Pamplemousse, Baghera and Maya are sweet creatures and easy to care for. They are basically outdoor cats who come in the morning and evening to get their dose of food and cuddles. Pippa and Tim are extraordinary people. Communication before and during the sit was excellent. They gave us a very warm welcome into their stunningly beautiful home with a lovely dinner. We spent an entire day together, getting to know the area and the close by city of Alès. The kitchen is spectacular, and so is the view from their terrace. Due to the season, there was not much to do in the very well-maintained garden, except watering the newly planted roses and other plants. It will certainly be one of the most memorable sits for us. 5 paws for Eliott, Pamplemousse, Baghera and Maya. 5 thumbs and a big thank you to Pippa and Tim!
Looking after Figgy & Sapphy was easy and enjoyable. They are quite independent, and don't really ask for much. Sapphy was very cuddly and spent the nights sleeping in my bed, she was good company. Stoke Newington is a very nice and unique area of London. I hope I get the chance to have another pleasant and interesting chat with Nigel, and to look after the sisters, when the situation caused by codiv-19 has passed. And it will. Recommended sit!
Our sit with Annie & Argus went wonderfully! We ended up staying with them for over a month, and having Francesca as a host made things exceptional. Not only was she very organized, but she greeted us into her home so graciously… As far as the pups go, Argus is so polite and while not so cuddly, he is good at getting attention when he wants it. He loves long walks so much that if you don’t take him on one long enough, he might just escape (happened on our watch once or twice!) As long as you keep your eyes on him he won’t go far! He is a lovely animal. Annie is older and loves getting pets and attention. She is good to go for long walks with Argus and is surprisingly spry for a dog her age. She was quick to let us know if she needed anything, mostly water refills :) As lovely as the dogs were it was quite remarkable just how kind Francesca was. I would 1000% recommended her to anyone looking for a comfy stay in the Midwest! I look forward to possibly seeing Annie & Argus again :) Cheers Francesca
Keely has so much personality - I loved her! And while Bobby isn't the most social, he is super low maintenance and cute! The house is in a great location - walking distance to the coast and to town. Chris and his family were easy and kind to coordinate with. Highly recommend!
