Tony and Helen were amazing - so kind and hospitable. They have a lovely home with a great backyard and an adorable dog Bella. I really enjoyed my time during this housesit and would highly recommend :D
What a great experience. Bill and Nancy are generous, friendly people who love their Labs Amigo and Penny to bits. We know why, the two are so different but both a delight in their own ways. The house is lovely, spotless and well appointed. We really enjoyed the secluded back yard, sitting in the sun by the pool or watching it go down sitting around the patio fireplace. If you get offered the chance to Pet/house sit here jump at it, you won't regretit for a moment. Sue and Mike
I had a a great time on this sit with the absolutely adorable Archie. He is a very sweet and well-behaved boy, who enjoys his walks, is friendly with other dogs, and obviously a loved local character with lots of people stopping to say hi to him. I'd love to return. Paul's home is in a fantastic location, with lovely public meadows five minutes walk from his home, and a choice of other walking areas a short drive away. Archie has a crate so he can travel safely in your car. The quiet village has a Tesco Extra, post office and pubs, and isn't far from Exeter. I was able to work from Paul's office, with good wi-fi. I've given Paul a couple of category 4 stars only for a few minor things that I think were due to it being his first time hosting, and I have given him some feedback on these, which he was completely receptive to. But definitely 5 star overall for me and a recommended sit.
I had the pleasure of pet-sitting at this charming home, and it was an absolute delight. The house is a true retreat, offering all the comforts you could wish for. From the soothing hot tub to the tranquil flowing stream and pond, it's the perfect setting to unwind. Modern amenities like WiFi and a TV with streaming services ensure you're connected when you want to be, and as a tea lover, I was thrilled to find a precise temperature kettle for brewing the perfect cup of oolong tea. 🍵 The location is fantastic, with a nice market and several eateries just a short distance away. Whether you're grabbing groceries or enjoying a meal on a sunny patio, everything you need is within easy reach. The homeowners' thoughtfulness shines through in their instructions. Both the in-person walk-through and the written guide were clear, detailed, and incredibly helpful, making the stay stress-free. Last but not least, Tesla, their canine companion, is an absolute joy. She's a well-behaved pup who knows her routine, making pet care a breeze. Our walks through the charming neighborhood were a highlight, thanks to her sweet nature and good manners. If you're looking for a peaceful getaway with the added bonus of a lovable four-legged friend, I can't recommend this place highly enough!
Caldas da Rainha is a lovely town to visit and Erica and Jonathon have us lots of local information and took us for a short tour of the town before they left. There are plenty of areas to visit within an hour of Caldas. Their home is immaculately kept with everything needed for a pleasant stay, the local supermarket is just across the road, in fact you don’t need to drive anywhere in the town as most things are a walk away. Alfie is an adorable boy and kept us on our toes with his antics as he loves to play. We miss him already. We highly recommend this sit if you come across it and we hope we can stay again in the future.
Em was lovely and I was fortunate enough to meet up and spend a couple of hours chatting before they left. She took great care to make sure I was going to be happy looking after a Ted and everything ran smoothly with the occasional text via WhatsApp while they were away. The house is lovely and I was very comfortable. Ted, or Teddy bear as I called him, was lovely. Luckily I had good weather, so he could wander in and out and visit the grandparents, then return for some love, fuss, belly rubs and a treat. He's a gentle soul but he still has his puppyness and loves to play. I definitely recommend applying to look after Ted.
