We had the most wonderful time in Simonstown, looking after Björn and Rax. We've literally spent hours playing with them, rolling small balls across the floor, and then diving them out again from underneath the kitchen cupboards, behind the couch, the corner, the passage, the cushions. We were so happy when they warmed up to us quickly, and allowed us to give them very hard and passionate hugs whenever we saw them. They are eautiful and a pleasure to look after. Jo's place has a magnificent view of the sea and we've spent many blissful hours in the bay window, just chilling away under a blanket with a book. The house has a special charm and had everything we'd need, it is also easy to clean and maintain. It felt like we're overseas or somewhere really exotic! Another bonus is that it's literally walking distance from lovely restaurants, Boulders Beach and many other places. The views when walking, are simply breath taking. We came back refreshed after this house sit and would love to return soon. Thank you for the opportunity. Ansie and Anton
Really enjoyed my stay here. The house is in a great location and close enough to the beach. Pup kept me very entertain when he played with his toys. The home owners were very quick with responses.
Had a great few weeks at this wonderful sit. The dogs are friendly and excited to see us everytime we left for even a few minutes. The yard and home are comfortable with a wonderful space for us to feel at home. Instructions and communication were clear and the dogs have a simple schedule. Teddy is an easy cat who loves scratches and to wander through the house at night. He will let you know if he needs anything. The area has everything you could need. A welcoming neighborhood that is very safe and a beautiful national forest within 30 minutes. Anyone would be lucky to book a sit for Ken.
When Jean and Mick first invited us to sit for their 5 Golden Retrievers we hesitated to start as along with our own dog 6 seemed a lot to care for until Jean explained that the dogs have their own grooming room, a run and a paddock and the dogs did not even need to leave the property if we did not wish to take them out. She said that they were big softies, obedient and very well trained. Well true to their word the dogs were fabulous. Jean is a breeder and judge for Goldens and they are a credit to her. Everything about caring for them was actually quite manageable as they were so obedient and so compliant. Easy to groom, feed and even take down to the beach! We would have loved to have them all with us at the gorgeous Talacre beach which is only 5 minutes away but we could only manage a couple in the car at a time! We had some days when the weather was glorious, so made the most of the beach in the afternoons and we even had a couple of dog free afternoons to explore the local area. Our dog Bella got on great with all 5 even though she was a little dwarfed by them, but found she could slip under their legs to get to the front of the biscuit queue! Each of the dogs have their own characters; Colwyn the boy is a complete cuddle bunny (big and daft) and could not get enough hugs and rubs. Peach, the oldest had a similar nature and would push the others away for extra cuddles. The other 3 girls were a little more reserved, Lilac loves to chase a ball and Mango loves her soft toys but has selective hearing :-) and Topaz is very much the shy one. All in all they were completely delightful and we are missing them already! Communication with Jean and Mick prior to, during and after the sit was great. We used WhatsApp to share photos/videos and messages so that they were able to see how all the dogs were doing each day. We arrived late afternoon the day before they were due to leave for their holiday and enjoyed a meal and drinks, as well as their lovely company and hearing all about their adventures with breeding, dog shows and judging. Jean and Mick are very kind and generous people and having made Tiramisu for pudding Shannon was won over immediately! The house is really comfortable and the log burner made the couple of chilly nights very cosy and it was a delight to see 6 dogs cuddled up in front of it of an evening. Thank you both for your generous hospitality and we are really looking forward to coming back in January and May next year.
We loved looking after Winnie and Olly in Ottery St Mary. They have such funny and goofy personalities and are very friendly. They were both wonderful to take out for walks, the surround area is beautiful so even just a short walk round the block was lovely. Linda and John were welcoming and easy going, and left a very detailed guide for us to care for the dogs. They very kindly let us stay a bit longer after they had arrived so that we could finish our working day before driving back to London, and very kindly gave us a gift when we were leaving. We would highly recommend driving into Honiton for the variety of antique shops/charity shops and your regular high street shops as well as Lidl and Aldi just up the road. We would love to come back and look after Winnie and Olly
I thoroughly enjoyed my time with Nala and Murphy. They are both so sweet and gentle, very well behaved and a pleasure to hang out with. Murphy is wherever you are and always happy to give you a snuggle and rub up against you for some love. Nala is more reserved but has a goofy side she showed after a few days together and enjoys her massages. Gabrielle and Andy are wonderful hosts, they are warm and welcoming and truly love their four legged kids. They communicated clearly the care needed for the dogs and gave many recommendations for food and activity in their area. The neighborhood is quiet with beautiful greenery and parks close by. Great shops and restaurants within walking distance Their home is very comfortable and exactly as posted. I would highly recommend this sit to anyone wanting a stay in Seattle in a beautiful home with 2 sweet companions. I will miss them and hope to see them again..
