Ozzy and Bear are really fun dogs. Bear is a bundle of affectionate, puppy energy but does calm down to hang out next to you. Ozzy was super well behaved and very sweet. We completely enjoyed our time with them.We were fortunate that the weather allowed for plenty of outside time in the fenced yard, which they loved. Laura and Jody were welcoming and very communicative, and the house had just a lovely, happy family vibe (there are a lot of stairs in between levels though if that is a concern). A very comfortable and pleasant stay. Gonna miss these dogs.
Great sit with a great dog. Location is nice too.
Charles is the perfect Manhattan companion! Incredibly well trained, he is comfortable with new people and relaxed on walks around the city. I would housesit with him again anytime! Lane is great, providing all the information needed prior to arrival, while being communicative and hospitable during my stay. Good dog, ideal location, brilliant housesit!
We thoroughly enjoyed our first sit on TH looking after Ragnar, the eight chickens and Boadie, the springer spaniel. We hadn't had any experience with bearded dragons or reptiles in general before this sit but Ragnar was really cool and we had a good time feeding him and checking on him. The chickens are nice and easy girls, love their breakfast and provide you with fresh eggs in the morning. Since it's already getting dark so early at the end of October, putting them to bed at the right time is important (to protect them from martens) - but you'll get a feeling for the right time...the "girls" will show you :) Well, and then there's Boadie. Any adjectives I could use here wouldn't do her character justice - we simply fell in love with this wonderful dog with the big heart, who always wants to make sure everyone is around and comes along for the walks or the rides in the car (which she loved). She is really clever as well and showed us some of her favourite games and walks (e.g. up to the field .... a path we would never have found on our own). Boadie has most definitely secured a place in our hearts! We had a great time with her during our walks and day trips, when playing in the garden and when cuddling on the sofa in the evening - and we hope she also enjoyed spending time with us! Communication was excellent before and during the sit - Rachel and Matt are lovely people! The house is in a nice and quiet location next to a park (but still close to town - just a short walk to the tram and also to an amazing Italian restaurant - try the "ricotta e spinaci pizza"), is really comfortable and has a great kitchen with everything you need. Since it was so chilly in October, we didn't use the huge garden (apart from playing with Boadie) but it's surely a very nice place to be during summer time! If you have a car, there's lots to explore in the area (e.g. Blaubeuren or Wiblingen) but you can also easily reach Rachel and Matt's family house by public transport (flight, train and tram). Ulm is a lovely town with lots of history, culture and architecture to explore (we even took Boadie along on a guided walking tour and she was praised for being more attentive than most kids) - and has really nice dog-friendly food places along the canals (Fischerviertel, Gerberviertel). However, we most enjoyed walking Boadie along the Danube and at Friedrichsau - and in the surrounding woods and countryside. Dear Rachel, Matt & family, thanks for your hospitality, for the fresh eggs we could enjoy for breakfast, for the delicious apples from your garden, and most of all for entrusting us with your house and animal family - we'll miss the pets, especially Boadie, and would sit them again any time. We couldn't have asked for a better first sitting experience!
It was such a lovely house-sit. Fiona is very organised and left us lots of information. A great communicator before our sit. Fergus was very loving and loved his walks and liked to spend time in the garden, but happily tried to dig up parts when our backs were turned!! Felux appeared like clockwork fir breakfast & dinner and was happy to dniggke up on the sofa in the evening. Oreo was the Scarlett Pimpernel in disguise!! Fiona's hone was lovely and a great place to chill.
Brooklyn is the sweetest pup, and she is well-behaved, especially for a puppy. She has lots of energy, and I had a blast hiking with her every day. Chandler was easy to communicate with, and their home was lovely. I highly recommend this sit to anyone who wants to stay in one of the best locations in Bend.
