This stay was a real experience for me. A hen had a chick and three peacock chicks hatched. The three dogs were great. Atticus is as easy going as can be, loves food and belly rubs. Maudie is a beauty, smart and independent. Callie, the runaway, unfortunately had to be on leash when I took the dogs for a walk to the creek. Of course she pulled a lot as long as she had the other two dogs, running free, in front of her. Swimming in the stream was peaceful and a real delight! The feral cats kept to themselves, I could only approach them in the barnyard, where they were out of reach of the dogs and let me pet them. Almost like paradise. Unfortunately, the goats and sheep were then attacked by unknown animals, one was killed immediately. Two were so badly injured that one died two days later and the other had to be shot. A neighbor helped me in any way he could to cope with the situation. Lisa and Ed were also available and responded quickly to all my questions throughout the sit. Even though there were a lot of animals, it usually took no more than an hour a day to feed them and monitor their water. Watering the extensive vegetable and flower beds with a hose during the hot spell took longer. Despite the sad and tragic event, I had a great time on the farm and wouldn't have wanted to miss it for anything.
We highly recommend to care for Nels and Emmy. They are easy and sweet pets. We loved our time with them. It is a place to be, relaxing with these two lovely cats. The house is great and nice to discover the surrounding Swiss cities and as well the nature. The neighbors are very friendly and helpful. Communication with Irene is easy and effective. A dream sit on the Central Coast in every respect. Stefan and Karen were extremely communicative (and acknowledging) from the outset. They are also hospitable and kind. The cats, kitty Kiki and her half brother Flash were just the most adorable critters. I didn't want to leave them 😔 😻 There was much fun, love, cuddles and antics to be had by all! The cats are strictly indoor cats and with sliding doors and screens all around, that’s not a problem. Both Burmese, Flash is a big chocolate coloured softy. Kiki an impish creamy cutey. The house is a temple of modernity with high-tech fittings and views over the coast and a lovely garden. I will be back in a flash, Flash and Kiki. 😻
This was such a wonderful and relaxing sit! Both Fin and Ivy were very sweet and outgoing upon meeting and they make the most adorable cooing noises when you are bringing their food to their feeding spot. Fin always followed me from room to room, and sometimes Ivy joined, while others she would nap happily and wait for me to come by for more pets. Brie and Michael were wonderful and showed me everything the kitties needed as well as the amazing amenities the apartment and neighborhood offered. They were very communicative and went above and beyond in making me feel welcome in their home. The apartment is brand new and has amazing amenities plus stellar views from every room. They are in a quiet and secure area with tons of great restaurants within a couple blocks, and both Puebla Centro and Cholula are an easy 20-30 min uber if you want to see some sites. I truly enjoyed my stay with these sweet kittens and all my interactions with Brie and Michael and would happily sit for them again.
What a wonderful housesit! We met Mary prior to the housesit to collect keys etc and everything was perfect. A really lovely woman! Everything was simple and straightforward. Mary's home is so comfortable and in a really nice quiet street. It is a real family home - which we love. It is in a great location so close to Bushy Park Twickenham and Teddington. You have everything you could possibly need on your doorstep. Charlie.....the loveliest little gentleman you could meet. Although a little slow he is so affectionate and came and sat with us every evening. He loves having under his chin rubbed and if you stop he nudges for more. He has such a lovely little character and the fact that he is older just makes you like him more. We loved our housesit here and looking after Charlie and wouldn't hesitate to do it again if free. Thank you Mary for letting is look after Charlie and hope to see you soon. Fi and Andy
What a nice Christmas I had with Sushi at Hazel’s flat! He is one of those cats who is friendly from the start, sitting on the couch beside me, sprawling beside me in the bed in the morning. Not only does he NOT wake you up early, but he ENCOURAGES sleeping in! He’s the BEST! Hazel was great at communication, her flat was cozy with a nice view… pretty quiet. I have nothing but good things to say… and hope to return some time. I miss Sushi already! Note: flat is very convenient to getting around London (beside DLR).
