What a treat to look after two bubbly little springers and stay in a gorgeous home! Mags and Barry welcomed me with a delicious dinner and Barry drove me to the beach in the 'dog beater car' to show me where Otis and Henry like to run. He also kindly showed me several farm shops. I greatly enjoyed taking the boys for long walks along the coast as well as around the field behind the house. The boys are very attentive, very affectionate and when off lead would always come back immediately if I called them. Since they are such high-energy bundles they have a wide range. They loved playing fetch and Otis always politely would cede the ball to his uncle. Otis was happy to eat his breakfast/dinner and then would contently curl up with a squirrel toy in his bed. Henry, on the other hand, was always underfoot when I was in the kitchen or eating; he was hoping for the odd crumb. Most of the time he was out of luck. The Oast is a beautifully appointed and maintained home. It is very tastefully furnished and my favorite room was the extension that included the kitchen and sitting area. It is flooded with natural light. The neighbors are very kind and helpful. At one point I needed jumper cables and they most gracefully lent these to me. Mags was only a WhatsApp away. She showed me everything I needed to know and promptly replied when I reached out. I had a lovely time with the boys and you will, too.
Caroline is the best host you can wish for. Very kind and accommodating. We had a WhatsApp call before the sit and the communication was very smooth. The house is super clean and I had everything I need. The park is just a few mins away. Lola is a real joy. She has a unique funny personality, very friendly and affectionate. We slept next to each other every night and it was very sad to leave. I would come back to sit anytime with no hesitation. Thanks so much for everything Caroline :)
Housesitting for Caroline and her beautiful kitty Bella was wonderful! Bella is such a beautiful cat. She loves to be pet, brushed, and is adorable when she comes galloping to the door to meet you every time you walk in the house, kind of like an excited puppy! I cared for Bella by giving her lots of love, pets, and brushing. They came to feeding her, I gave her supplements in the morning, mixed in with her cat food, and gave her a morning and evening meal, with a few treats in between. Carolyn was very thorough and helpful in leaving photo descriptions of how to prepare the food with her supplements. The house manual is very descriptive and left me with no questions at all. I appreciate the time and detail Caroline put into creating it. Caroline preferred for me to send photos or videos each day, which I was happy to do. I was also responsible for caring for their multiple house plants and orchids. They were absolutely beautiful. Again, the house manual was very descriptive, so I knew exactly what to do with the water, plant food, how much to water each plant etc. The home is stunning. I'm a huge fan of Frank Lloyd Wright. One of his students built the house. It's mostly one level, spacious, easy to get around, and the guestroom is up a small flight of stairs, with the bathroom just a few steps away on the main level. The owners were thoughtful in putting a nightlight on the steps for those middle of the night bathroom visits. My partner and I also enjoyed how comfortable the guest bed was for such a peaceful nights rest. The owners were very open and kind in allowing me to hold some of my therapeutic groups there. Their home created such a beautiful, Zen-like, therapeutic environment, for the people who attended. Everyone was so grateful to be able to have the group in such a picturesque and peaceful setting. On the weekends my partner joined me, and he loved helping care for Bella. He especially loved brushing her, and giving her lots of attention. I appreciate that the owners were open in trusting me to have other people over. It was such a beautiful experience, and I would highly recommend it to anyone. I would definitely do this House sit again.
I loved this sit! Talia and Shane's place was so lovely, and Dani was quite possibly the sweetest dog I've ever met! She has such an engaging personality and I loved hanging out with her. The house was super clean and comfortable, and had such an awesome yard with a hammock I loved hanging out in! Talia and Shane were so kind, and I would definitely recommend this stay!
What a wonderful house sit! Fannie Bell and Mr. Murphy were funny and comical to look after. Mr Murphy is blind but you would never know it until he runs into something. But that never stops this little guy. We arrived the night before to meet Jennifer and Kerry, and were treated to a very pleasant meal and a bottle of wine. Their beautiful home is situated on a large lot with well manicured lawns in a very beautiful neighborhood. The house itself is exceptional. We had a very comfortable room with our own bathroom. There is so much to see in the area, such as Gettysburg and Antietam battlefields, Flight93 Memorial and quaint covered bridges. Really enjoyed the humans and loved the dogs. Would definitely recommend this sit to anyone even myself if ever back in the area.
