Gabrielle and her partner seem to be kind individuals but the facility (not employees - more residences) and pet may require a lot of patience. From the get, this sit required an massive amount of extra hoops even getting inside the door. For one minor example, to say the least, the spare key did not work correctly and even the resident manager (more than helpful and friendly) was not even able to open it but I made due the entire time. With many things, I improvised...such as constantly cleaning up after the puppy (NOTE: BEWARE OF ALL BELONGINGS). Overall, I would recommend the facility and place but many things need to be adjusted for guests to truly be able to enjoy the sit, stay and experience.
I met Alison and Kevin on zoom before the sit and they are very warm, welcoming people. The sit was lovely. The dogs gorgeous and entertaining; the location absolutely lovely in the Northumberland countryside. The apartment is in a converted stable block and has everything you need for a comfortable sit and was absolutely spotless. Although you are in the middle of a forest and it’s very peaceful and secluded you are not too far from a main road. It borders Wallington Estate, a National Trust property which is well worth a visit. Gunna and Teal were both real personalities and loved to play fetch in the ‘quadrangle’ of the stable building. Although Kevin walks them off lead I would probably recommend using their leads on the beautiful walks around their home. I guess i just wasn’t ‘masterful’ enough!- and both had a great time running away and off into the neighbouring estate to make new doggy friends! All in all a lovely sit and definitely recommended.
We loved sitting for Bob and Daphne we were all made to feel really welcome in their beautiful house. Alfie and Oscar are lovely affectionate dogs, they were a pleasure to look after, such lovely characters and well behaved. The horses routine was easy to follow and really enjoyed looking after them, we didn’t see much of the cats, Chalkie and Bertie but they were also lovely. This is a wonderful sit, thank you for having us!
Papa is the biggest cuddle bug! There is no place he'd rather nap than on your lap. After we bonded my chest, right under my chin was his fav spot. 😁 Papa was very easy to care for. He slept most of the day with spurts of playtime with the shoelace or catnip balls. He enjoyed meal time and a belly rub to help him burp. He was timid at first so slow and limited movement in the beginning is best to give him time to adjust. Kartik met me downstairs and helped me with my luggage. He gave me a thorough walk-thru and welcomed me with chocolate and snacks. The home was clean and cozy and a short walk to Tesco and the Brixton market full of fresh veg and restaurants. The train and underground stations are also in walking distance. They were kind and easy to reach on whatsapp with questions. I enjoyed this sit and would definitely recommend!
Haleigh’s communication and “welcome packet” was detailed and easy to understand. I appreciated all of the recommendations for dining, shopping, etc. Caring for Winnie and Captain was not at all difficult. They are well behaved and affectionate. I really enjoyed my time with them and walks with Winnie around the West Village. The location of their home was a big plus for me and they made me feel welcome, safe and comfortable in their home.
This is a top petsit, perfect in every aspect for any cat lovers wishing to visit the DC. Erica has been an amazing host, generous and thoughtful. She had me to stay the evening before, picked me up in her car and even let me her own room! She also spent some time before leaving showing me around the neighbourhood and provided some fantanstic recommendations so as to make the most of my time there. The place is very nice, quiet and just a quick ride away on the bus and metro from Washington DC city centre, just as the description said. Pim and Dev, the two kitties, are super sweet and loving. Pim took a couple of days to warm up to me and after that he was a sweetheart, really affectionate, chatty and playful. I loved the time I spent with them and having the chance to meet Erica. I can’t recommend this sit enough. Thank you so much Erica, D & P!!
