What a great house sit! We got a very warm welcome from Alex and Steve and spent a nice evening together. The instructions were clear and the handling of all animals was easy. The 3 dogs are fabulous, and we fell in love with them. The property has a huge backyard, the paddocks are attached, and there is a nice view. We absolutely recommend this house sit and would love to get back. We our kids a great time :)
I feel so lucky that I was chosen to house sit for Chantal and her wonderful family! I was welcomed in their home the night before they left and they made me feel at home right away. The house is large and very tidy and clean and in a nice and quiet neighborhood. The highlight of course were the two sweetest kitties, fluffy Nellie and little Beau. It was such a pleasure to have them around, they are so playful and lovely and easy to look after. Thank you so much for inviting me, Chantal and Isaac!!!
This was a lovely house / pet sit. Lisa and Kris briefed me thoroughly before they left and paid attention to important details such as safety and emergency contacts. There are walking trails along the river only a block from the house which the dogs enjoyed. Lucy and Daisy were well behaved and loved to cuddle on the couch in the evening. If you like to be outside, the area has many gentle hikes only a short drive away, beside the ocean or in parks. It was a great escape from the cold winters of eastern Canada, rewarded by lots of doggy kisses and wagging tails!
Ted is a real sweetheart, an absolute gentleman. Ted loves to play tug of war and will bring you his chosen toy to then wrestle it away and have you grab it back. He is gentle about it though. He has great manners and will wait patiently for his food until he is told to eat and will not jump onto the sofa or the bed unless he is invited to. We took Ted on several walks a day as we hated to leave him home alone but, as mentioned in the profile, he has a bad leg due to an old injury so with the cold weather we made sure that they were not too long to avoid him being in any discomfort. Ted can be reactive on the lead (mainly other dogs) but this is easily managed by distracting him with treats. Ted was happy to lie on his bed while I was working or if we were visiting the city. His little head would be sticking out at the top of the stairs with his tail wagging happy to see us when we got back. We absolutely loved looking after Ted and spending time with him. Felicity and Alex made it easy to understand our responsibilities and made us feel welcome in their home. We felt Felicity trusted us to handle anything that came up. They were incredibly kind, helping us organise a delivery to the house prior to our arrival, and they also put Christmas decorations up even though they were not there to enjoy them. Felicity was a good communicator and quick to respond to any updates. The house is a typical traditional Dutch canal house in a great location. It is beautiful, clean, has excellent internet and includes an amazing workspace. The house has everything that you need. Our room was warm (it was winter) and comfortable. This is an amazing housesit with the most lovely, playful pet. We would jump at the chance to housesit Ted again. 10 out of 10 would recommend. Thank you Alex and Felicity!
Lawrence was a great communicator and made sure I had all the information and details I needed before the sit. He and Caroline were very welcoming and always at the other end of the phone if I needed anything. Angus is a such a sweet cat, with beautiful blue eyes, super affectionate, friendly and easy to care for. He loved chilling out while I was working and generally kept me company wherever I was in the home. I’d definitely recommend looking after Angus and staying at Lawrence & Caroline’s gorgeous home 😊
This sit was fantastic! Everything about it was wonderful. Cordula and Nic could not have been more hospitable and friendly. They picked us up from the train, showed us around their home and introduced us to their lovely family. Their home is lovely and also close to shops and transport! Evenings were spent looking at the Swiss Alps! We loved walking in the neighborhood and in the fields. We also enjoyed the ability to take day trips to Bern and Lucerne. It was a pleasure to water plants and walk and play with Prince when we knew we had a swimming pool to cool us down Prince is an absolute delight. He was calm and confident on the buses and trams and in town. He was relaxed at home and happy to walk (though on long walks he needed some encouragement!) If you have the chance to look after Prince and this beautiful home, jump at it.
