Sitting for Wilo was the ideal assignment to slip back into housesitting after a longish absence. Wilo is the sweetest cat. She is very independent, sleeping outside and doing her own thing most of the day, but she also affectionate and loves cuddles and hanging around the house. She is never demanding or fussy, just gives a polite little mew to let you know when she wants something. In short, excellent company and a really lovely cat to be around. Jon and Penny were very concerned that I should be comfortable and have everything I needed, and prepared an amazing sitter’s guide, covering all aspects of house, garden, pool, etc. The house has everything you could want, it was very easy to find everything and everything worked just fine. The garden is a delight, with a lovely pool and plenty of fruit trees providing yummy things, and the house is situated in a very nice area for walking and exploring. I would definitely return and recommend this sit to others.
Lovely house sit! The pets are all gorgeous, total characters and very sweet. Benedict is a dream to walk - he enthusiastically accompanies you as far as you want to go, in all weathers, and stays close by. He was great when we encountered other dogs too. There are lovely walks near the house, with access up onto the moor, and he travels really well in the car to go anywhere further afield. Back home he’s super friendly and cuddly. The cats Luna, Walter and Ivy are gorgeous too. Walter is a rather skilled hunter so there’s often a gift or remains of a meal to deal with, but all manageable. The house is gorgeous, very modern and a treat to stay in, and of course in spectacular countryside. Andrew and family were lovely, super friendly and very responsive on any questions. Delightful stay thank you!
Madeleine was a great host and the apartment was cozy and clean making for a great stay on the east side of LA. Jones and Mr. Darcy are both incredibly loving cats who I had a great time hanging with. Madeleine communicated clearly about the details of the stay and was available while out of the country for questions that came up. Overall a great stay with easy communication and happy cuddly cats!

Wow. What a special week we had staying in Judy's beautiful home with sweet Oscar. Judy made us feel completely at home from the moment we stepped in the door. We were blown away by the beauty of the house and gardens and we were lucky enough to be visiting whilst the bluebells were out which was stunning! We had everything we needed and enjoyed cooking on the aga every night. Oscar is the loveliest cat - very relaxed, happy to be fussed and well versed with his routine - he was a pleasure to look after. The chickens were easy as well and laid an egg for our final breakfast! Judy was a kind and generous host cooking a wonderful meal for us the night before the house sit and giving us lots of tips for exploring the surrounding areas. We were sad to leave and I will miss sitting with Oscar at the window watching the birds. Would highly recommend and would love to stay again in future.
It was such a joy spending time at Vera's place, it is a wonderful property. The cats where super fun to hang out with. Theo was a real character, and always close by, he provided hours of free entertainment. Pequenina was gentle and friendly. They where both such a pleasure to have around. The peacocks were a first, buy very easy and straight forward to care for. Vera was friendly, helpful and welcomed me into her home with warmth.

I took my 1.5 year old husky/German shepherd here for a overnight . Everything from the meet and great, to the drop off and pickup was extraordinary. My dog was able to run and play with other dogs and not be cooped up in a kennel all day. It was great to have the peace of mind knowing our dog was in good hands . This is the only place we will board our dog moving forward .
I dropped off my two dogs for a day care trial ( a Rottie and a frenchie) at this place thinking that they would take good care of my dogs and hoping that my dogs would have good experience because the owner convinced us that they would be given the care they needed, i warned the owner that my frenchie is easily overheated. Instead my Frenchie was literally dying when we picked her up. She was over heated so bad that her tongue was turning blue, she was whizzing, she couldn't breathe, she could barely walk to greet us. She puked multiple times as soon as i put her in the car!! I asked the owner what happened to her, he asked me back 'I don't know , you tell me what happened to her?'. What The Hell????!!! She was there all day long with him!!! Any idiot can tell my dog was dying!!! I asked him stuff he kept saying he doesn't know. Turned out i figured out that they just abandoned my dogs out in their field without a place to cool down all they long. No one checked on them. If i came 5-10 minutes late to pick them up my Frenchie would have been dead. I thought i lost my baby that day. It was so terrible. Both of my dogs are traumatized in this place. My Rottie ran up to us and jumped straight in the car. Not even a single looked back at the guy. He was so miserable in this place. I could tell. The whole time i was panicking trying to save my Frenchie there was no single apology from the owner instead he was playing dumb/ underestimated the condition of my Frenchie. It was a very traumatizing experience. So much for a good day care experience. More like pay me for abandoning your dogs in my field. Update to my review. The next day my Rotty is sick he has super messy poop and is lethargic. I can only imagine what my dogs been through in this daycare. This place is a nightmare.
I met with the owner in person for an hour and a 1/2 to 2 hours discussing the boarding of my puppy, which ultimately resulted in a "no-go" for my pup--Waffles, a puppy under a year. The discussion was authentic, professional, insightful, and personal. The time and energy spent was heartfelt and very much appreciated. I will see you in a few years!
I left my 2 dogs here (Ellie and Miss Doggy Parton) while I went away for 8 days and cannot recommend it enough! We looked at places in Portland, but did not feel comfortable leaving them at the boarding places we checked out due to lack of comfort on not only our end but our dogs. Finding Bark Run Play seriously left us feeling so comforted knowing our dogs were in good hands! Kerry & Brian are not only kind, but amazing with dogs. One of our dogs is stand off-ish with people and was living on them when we returned back. They even sent us cute photos with a quick update while we were away. The dogs aren’t locked up in crates or stuck in a building all day - they get to run around outside and have a doggy vacation while you’re on yours. We are super grateful we found this place, can’t stop telling everyone at the dog parks, and will definitely bring our pups back when our future plans require it! Thanks Kerry & Brian! 🌞
Bark Run Play is the best dog care facility that you could ever hope for! If you read any reviews at all please read this one if you are searching for a place to take the best care of your animal while you’re away. They are professional, reliable, trustworthy & they have the cleanest facilities at all times, they always send me pictures and updates throughout my trips to let me know that my dog is loving his home away from home but most importantly they truly love my dog. Look no further, you will not be disappointed & your dog will be forever thankful to you for leaving him or her in their care!
I feel like I won the game for my two dogs. I almost felt like they didn't want to come home. It is so refreshing to know that your dogs are having a blast, well taken care of and under supervision of experts in dog behavior while in Kerry and Brian's care. Scheduling was easy, paperwork was thorough and service beyond any expectation I had. Watching my two keep going over to Brian at pick up for pats and kisses rather then charging to get out the door says it all. Charlie and Banjo can't wait to return.
We left our dogs there for 4 days while we flew out of state, and as far as I can tell our dogs had a good time. Before we boarded them, we had to take our dogs to the meet and greet, where we met one of the owners who was very nice and she kinda told us how they run things and showed us where the dogs will be staying. Then when we dropped the dogs off a week or so later we met the other owner, and he was super nice too. They both know a lot about dogs and know how to handle different kinds of breeds and different dogs needs. They even texted us pictures of our dogs during their stay to let us know how they were. All in all, including the low price, the whole thing was excellent and I will definitely come back if I need to board my dogs again.
Brian and Kerry took excellent care of our 11 month old lab. He got to run and play so much during his weekend stay that he slept all day when he got home! They were really good about keeping us updated with text messages and photos of our boy while we were gone, which helped us relax and enjoy our weekend. We will definitely use them again, and would highly recommend them!
We trusted our dogs to the Happy Pet and we could not be more satisfied. One of our dogs, Maggie, is truly a special-needs dog, being very shy and insecure around strangers. We've tried everything, but she just needs a lot of time to warm up to strangers. One reason we chose this place is because we wanted to shake up Maggie's routine some, and give her exposure to strangers. The owners of the Happy Pet worked with her every day, investing their time and energy to make her feel safe and secure; and in one week had her comfortable and happy. Even visitors to our house take longer for her to get comfortable. The owners checked in several times while we were away to let us know how the dogs were and sent us pictures of them having fun playing in their open fields. The kennel is a bit out of the way, but that's part of the magic. They are out in the country and have large open runs for the dogs. While we expected muddy messes, when we picked up the dogs they were both clean and very happy. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.
My wife and I were feeling hopeless when it came to boarding our mini Goldendoodle. It was difficult to find a good location, fair pricing and someone trustworthy to take care of our pup when we were out of town. Finally we came across Holly’s website and were immediately intrigued. We reached out and Holly was so responsive and caring. We got a meet and greet scheduled right away and it went amazing. Holly and her family are so welcoming and easy to communicate with. It has been such a relief to have found Holly and now we always know we have a reliable plan for where our dog will stay when we need help with her. Our favorite part is the daily photo updates we get from Holly when she is watching our dog ♥️ thank you, Holly!

This review is long over-due. Holly has been caring for our 4 animals (2 cats and 2 dogs) for quite a while now, and she has been absolutely stellar! She is very communicative and very compassionate in the care of our animals. Pricing is fair. Two of our animals have medical issues and one of our dogs in particular has some mobility issues. Holly is always attentive and ensures our pup gets to play without pushing herself too far (she would play fetch all day if she could). When Holly cares for your animals, you can tell she really treats them like family. I would recommend her 100%. Thank you Holly for all you do for our family! PS: She takes some pretty great photos!

We left our pet rabbit with Holly for a week. I knew right away that she was in good hands. Holly carefully went over all the instructions with us before we said good bye and made sure our little bunny had a comfortable set up. Then, amazingly, we got wonderful photos and updates throughout the week. Everyone was having a good time together. We were so grateful to have found Holly to share their home and attention with our little friend. Holly is really special.
Holly has taken care of my kitty a couple times now and has done such a good job. She checks on my girl reliably and sends me photo updates everyday so I feel reassured that everything is ok back home. Vacations are so much more relaxing when I know my fur baby is being looked after. I highly recommend Holly!
Holly provided care for our two cats for a week. I could tell by the cute pictures she sent each day that the cats were very comfortable with her. She even took care of an ant evasion we had, putting out ant traps we had to keep the pests away from the cat food! She always replied promptly to texts we sent while away. I will definitely use her services again.
Holly has been incredible with our 1+ yo dog, Maggie. Maggie is full of energy and love and needs a lot of attention and play. Holly expertly guides Maggie through her days and always sends us lots of great photos to put our minds at ease. She has been very flexible to meet Maggie’s needs and our busy schedule. Her toddler is great around dogs, just like her mom!
Mary Ellen takes the best care of my dogs, so much that the youngest would happily stay there forever. Great pick up/drop off process. Excellent communication and scheduling is easy, daycare or boarding. So glad to have stumbled across her place years ago!
My husband, myself and our pup just moved to the SE area and we were stressing on finding a doggy daycare. We both work all day and didn’t want our pup to be home alone; he has a lot of anxiety & especially separation anxiety. We found Mary Ellen’s daycare and immediately she sounded like a good fit. We’ve been taking our pup to her for about a month now and it’s been going great! We were really concerned that his anxiety would be an issue and that maybe it’d be a bit much for Mary Ellen, but she quickly dispelled those fears. She’s been working with our pup and helping him adjust to the new routine and has been incredibly kind and patient. We’re so grateful to have found Mary Ellen ☺️☺️☺️
We LOVE Wag Along! Our pup has been going there for a while for daycare and comes home happy and exhausted. We've also boarded her there and had a great experience. Mary Ellen is knowledgeable, flexible and reliable, and it is such a great spot for our pup to spend some time each week! Our girl can be a little nervous to leave us (she grew up during pandemic stay-home orders), but warmed right up to going! I know how much she loves it by her excitement when we pull in for drop off & at the end of the day, she usually doesn't want to leave! We consider Wag Along her second family and highly recommend them for boarding or daycare :)
I feel grateful to have found this day care/boarding location for my pup! I’ve brought my pup there for day care and I’ve boarded her for as long as 5 days. My dog always leaves happy and tired from playing with all the other wonderful dogs. I trust that Mary Ellen keeps a watchful eye over all of the dogs while they are under her care. Mary Ellen is excellent at communicating with me and I feel 100% comfortable leaving my puppy there. I would highly recommend!
Mary Ellen is the best. We always leave our dog with her when we're away and have been doing so since 2016. As soon as we pull up outside her house, she starts whimpering to get out and join her friends. Mary Ellen has two dogs of her own, Margaux and Rou, both wonderful golden retrievers who our dog adores. They're kind of like benevolent older siblings to her. I often think our dog has a better time than we do — home away from home!
I took my anxious 1 year old puppy to Wag Along to try to help with her separation anxiety and socialization. Mary Ellen took extra good care of her and within a few weeks Bootsy was more confident and well behaved and she loves going to see Mary Ellen and to play with the other dogs. I appreciate how very easy drop off and pick up is, and that my pup is still clean at the end of the day. Mary Ellen is kind, responsible and the price is right.
We’ve taken our energetic 1.5 year old heeler Sylvie here since the beginning of the year, been a very positive experience. Space-wise it’s essentially a house & yard, rather than the typical warehouse type areas of other doggy daycares. We appreciate the fact that the owner, Mary Ellen, has been doing this a long time and is very hands-on – it’s good to know our pup’s with someone experienced & who really cares about both the animals & how things are run. She’s flexible and the whole process has been super easy. Price is pretty standard. Our dog is fairly high strung and at first she had a lot of anxiety about being left there. But after a little while she got over it, now it’s fun to watch her excitedly run to Mary Ellen & all her doggy friends in the morning. I think the daycare has actually helped out her maturation process. Mary Ellen sends video clips and/or photos during the day showing them playing & lounging around, which is fun for a doting dog parent like me. The pup comes home happy & tired. We just do part-time right now - to socialize Sylvie & keep her company while the humans work, also to create a familiarity in case we ever have to board her there sometime for travel. Highly recommended.
We love having our Sully with Mary Ellen. We never worry about him when he’s there. We use daycare and board with her when we are out of town. He is always excited to see her and she takes such good care of the pups in her care. Recommend her 110%.
Mary Ellen takes such good care of my baby, I never worry at all when she’s there. My dog was super timid before she started going about a year ago and now she’s so happy to go see her friends each time. Mary Ellen watches a nice variety of sizes and breeds, so she’s exposed to all kinds of dogs, which is helpful for the real world. I literally don’t know what I would do without her. We love Wag Along!
Mary Ellen is amazing, I’ve been trusting her with my dog for a while now. I recently used her for boarding, and she went above and beyond when taking care of my dog. I had to drop off my dog right after being injured and Marry Ellen took her with out hesitating. She gave her her meds and cared for her like I would have. She even sent me frequent updates and pictures to help ease my anxiety. I truly don’t think you will find a more caring pet sitter in the Portland area!
Lindsay and Matt are THE BEST! I brought my young dog there, 9 mos., and they took such great care of her. Matt took his time to answer all of my questions to assure me that she would be fine with them. From the lighting in the kennels to mirror the time of day at home to quiet time so the dogs could nap peacefully. One of them was always outside with the dogs to monitor them and be sure the "pack" got along ;)They would only let dogs that they felt were a good fit play together on the property. They also took into consideration how young my dog was and took extra care with her because of her age.They were on it! Since I haven't boarded her before I was nervous to leave her. No worries there. Lindsay kept in touch with me with texting and sending pictures. I will definitely take her there again and am so happy and LUCKY that I found them! Pogba and Benzema love Woof and Tumble! I have taken my boys here several times and am always thrilled with the experience. I never have to worry because I know how well they are being taken care of. The facility is very well maintained and put together. I swear my dogs sleep for days when they get home because they had so much fun. I would highly recommend Woof and Tumble. If I could give them more than 5 stars I absolutely would. I love that I occasionally get pictures of the dogs having fun while they are there as well.

This is a very safe, very focused dog boarding facility. If you are a first time boarder, there will be a trial, one night boarding to test if your dog is OK there. The owners do not charge for this night. The reasoning is solid. This insures your dog will be familiar with the environment when the boarding date arrives as well as testing the dog's amenability to the facility. It works! Both Matt and Lindsay are very hands on with dog care. Small and large dogs are managed in like groups. They pay attention to behavior and place dog well-being front and center. I have 2 mini poodles who were well cared for and given attention when there. Minis are attention sponges and they understand the different breeds. Make your reservations early. There is a reason this facility is well booked, the owners really love what they do and it shows. They are devoted to their business.
I have a rescue havanese who has had huge stranger fear. He has been going to Woof and Tumble for 2 yrs. Corey just loves it there. Every time we board him he has become more and more social. In fact, he loves playing with all the dogs, even the huge ones! His socialization has carried over in other places. Matt, one of the owners, has been great with Corey. Matt has trained police dogs so this 20 lb cutie is no challenge to him. Whenever we take him there, as we approach the property Corey starts waging happily and greeting the dogs with his talking bark. We have never worried leaving him at Wood and Tumble. It is a dog haven with lots to outdoor kiddie park toys and pools. Corey is just staying with family when he's boarded! Thank you guys! We love you.
This place is fantastic! I have two younger dogs who are used to playing with other dogs at the park and always get at least 1.5-2 hours of playtime daily. The thought of having them cooped up in a kennel while I was away playing was stressful and sad. I have known Matt for years and think very highly of him. I recently met Lindsey and she’s just as awesome! I was so excited when I found out about their place and brought the pups there. It’s an amazing facility and they simply love dogs! My pups loved it and I got regular updates and photos while I was away. Now I don’t have to feel guilty and can relax when it’s vacation time. I know they’re having fun and being well cared for here. I highly recommend this place.
Updated 8/27/23: I want to renew this review because Woof and Tumble continues to be our local boarding and play kennel serving Clark County friendly Dogs and their much loved people. It is just a great place to take you dog(s) if you need to be away in circumstances that don’t allow you best 🐾♥️🐾 to travel with you. Lindsey and Matt’s pricing is reasonable and I leave my dog always knowing that he is in good, capable and very caring hands with people who love him and who he loves too. I have a black lab, who has been going to Woof & Tumble when I travel for work and can’t take him for the past several years. We didn’t know the former owner, but we are sure pleased that the Hanson Family has the business now. My lab squeals with glee every time we start driving up the canyon to go to W&T. My Boy loves Matt and Lindsey as much as he does me and I always know that he is in the best care available anywhere when he is with them. I always know too when I pick him up that I have returned to a very happy well exercised boy who has gotten to run and play ball with his friends under the watchful and protective supervision of care givers I can completely trust without reservation. The kennel area is clean and climate controlled so the dogs are comfortable year round and the outdoor play areas are clean, well maintained and protected by a high storm fence. Woof & Tumble is a few miles up WRR, Hughs and Skye Roads, but the roads are well maintained and the boarding kennels are very easy to locate. Woof & Tumble is an incredible blessing to friendly dogs and the owners who love them throughout our area and my pup and I are really glad that Lindsey and Matt are a part of our busy lives 🐾💗🐾,
I am one of three chihuahuas that get to hang out at Woof and Tumble, aka "outdoor school," when our owners go away on a trip and don't need our supervision. We are well taken care of, whether it's exploring and chasing woodland creatures that come near our outside realm or getting attention and snuggles from the staff. The folks there make sure we get our meds, prepare our meals, and send our owners updates on how our vacation is going. While we don't provide any revenue to our household, or have any concept of economics, but we feel strongly this is a worthwhile investment into your dog's happiness.
So, so, so glad a friend recommended Woof and Tumble! My two pups (a 12yo geriatric dog and 7-month-old) were well taken care of - food, sleeping, love, safety, structure, AND socialization. We didn't worry one bit while we were away because it was easy to see that owners Matt and Lindsay really understand and care about dogs. My two had a great time at "camp" over the holidays and are tuckered out after all the fun. 5 stars for sure ... I'd give them 6 if I could!
We've had such a great experience boarding our Doberman with Woof and Tumble. She's stayed with them several times now and always comes home happy, tired, and dirty from playing with new friends. With a free trial over night before leaving our dog with them, we felt confident that Matt and Lindsey are not only professional but were impressed that they were willing to take the time needed to make sure our dog would assimilate to their environment. One thing we really love is that the dogs are never left alone when playing together. We've driven up several times during play time, and as promised, someone (often the whole family) is outside supervising the dogs. Other boarding facilities in the area (Running Pond Acres comes to mind) leave groups of dogs unsupervised, sometimes for hours at a time, in an area they won't show owners for "insurance reasons", which is not an environment we would ever want to leave our dog in. The Woof and Tumble team is also super proactive in communication. During one stay, our pup strained her back leg and we were notified as soon as it was discovered, and then received updates after each subsequent play outing she went on. She ended up being totally fine, but we felt good knowing that they were paying attention to her enough to notice a slight limp, and then to reach out to let us know. Our only complaint is that Woof and Tumble is so popular! We're not great at getting our reservation booked well in advance and have missed chances to have our pup stay with them when they've been booked full. We love them so much that we try to convince our friends in Portland and Beaverton to bring their dogs here even though it's so far from them! We don't think there's a better facility around.
I love the free day opportunity. It is understandable sense my dog has been training through severe separation anxiety for a couple months after his previous owners kenneled him until he was 5 months. He's a quick study and the man that lead him into his dog daycare was the 1st my dog has ever gone with without pulling and the man saw that he was better the next day. Phew! I recommend this place. Check out the savings on the buying options. The price is right. Also feels like a good and happy neighborhood dog daycare. My dog came back tired and ready to eat. They have great prices on meals but I just feed him so he has a routine.
I called to speak with someone about boarding my dog and they were so rude! I said, "Happy Friday! How are you?" To which they scoffed and replied, "What do you need?" I said I was thinking of boarding my dog, but not when they spoke to me like that. The person laughed and said, "That's fine." And hung up. if this is how they treat the humans, I worry how they treat the animals. No thanks.
This place is awesome!!! My dogs love coming here, and they are always so tired when I pick them up, which is great because a lot of the time during the work week, I do not have time to play with them. Cheaper than any other place in the PDX area as they have package deals for weeks/months. More days you buy, cheaper it is overall. Pickup/drop off process is quick and efficient. The sweet lady that works here is a hoot and always making me laugh. Thank you, Safe Journey!
Been coming here for since my dog was a puppy and she loves it! When I drop her off she gets so excited and runs straight to the door to wait for Julia or Craig to come get her! We love Safe Journey and are so grateful for your services!
My dogs love this place! Kennels can be anxiety inducing, especially for resuce dogs. At Safe Journey, they get to socialize freely, making it more natural for all the dogs. In addition to our dogs being happy, they have very flexible availability and fair pricing, a must for last-minute travelers like myself.
I just gotta say, I absolutely love this place! The staff and environment are incredibly friendly and welcoming. my two rotties always have such a good time there. I know my boys can be difficult at times, but they are very patient with them and they always come home happy and healthy wiggle butts! <3
I have nothing negative to say about them. Only thing is that i wish they were closer to Troutdale. I absolutely love bringing my dog here. He always comes home very very tired. You can tell that the staff here is very knowledgeable about what they're doing as well. I drop him off before work or a trip and i leave with a peace of mind. i appreciate how they try to accommodate my schedule as well. I also love how they don't kennel their dogs. My dog has terrible separation anxiety and a kennel would not be a good time for him. I really appreciate this business, and the staff that can make it all happen. I will be recommending them to anyone who needs a great doggy day care.
This place holds one of the worst experiences I have ever had. This happened 1 year ago. I took my sweet old pup there for a few day care trials in anticipation of a potential 10 day stay. He seemed to liked it so I went ahead and book his long stay. Conin was at Safe Journey a total of 5 days and he died. They emailed me while I was abroad to tell me my dog had not eaten in 3 days and that he was in poor health. 3 days! I immediately had a family friend go pick him up and 24 hours later he was dead. Not only this has been dramatic and absolutely devastating, but I also had to deal with the complete and utter lack of responsibility Safe Journey decided to take regarding this after I arrived back in the US. I received long emails from them with just excuses. I strongly believed that my dog was left in isolation, not fed and not cared for at all. He was so dehydrated when my friend picked him up, that even after 24 in intensive care they could not revive him. This place is extremely dodgy, they thrive themself as specialized in "difficult dogs", and so i trusted these people with my 15 year old mutt. He was a healthy old pup, and within 5 days he became ill and died. They took no responsibility, they did not offer to reimburse me for the days he did not spend in there, there was zero care, only a bunch of excuses. The recent number of horrible review have encouraged me to speak up. At the time, I reported them to the better business bureau. I strongly encourage you to do the same if you had a poor experience there. Below is a photo of Conin on August 24th (the day I dropped him off) and the photo of him 6 days after. Bless him.
We love Safe Journey so much! Craig and the team care so much about our pup and make sure he’s having a good time- whether he feels like relaxing alone or playing with others. My beloved, healthy mini schnauzer died in their care from horrific injuries. Your dog is not safe with them. I trusted them with my sweet little pup and he never came back home.
Maggie did a wonderful job taking care of our furmily while we were out of town. Our dog had a medical emergency and Maggie handled it calmly and professionally (everyone is okay). We were so lucky to have found her! Will definitely be using her services again and recommending her to all our N Portland friends.
We are so lucky to have found Maggie. Upon our first meeting, we knew she was the perfect fit for us and our two kitties. We have now used her on multiple occasions for short and long stay care. Our boys love her and we now don't feel anxious leaving. She is kind, caring and professional...she goes above and beyond on all levels. Cannot recommend enough! Maggie is amazing! I’m a nervous cat mom and it’s never easy leaving our two kitties behind. Maggie took the time to get know us and our kitties, putting us all at ease right away. Maggie is quick to respond and is always warm and friendly, making her feel as if we’re leaving our kitties with a really good friend. Our cats are comfortable with Maggie which shows in the visit photos and videos Maggie sends. I never worry about them when Maggie is looking after them. 11/10 would recommend! We used Maggie’s services for a ten day out of country trip. She was very thorough with our 2 cats and provided daily updates and photos/video. Made us feel very comfortable that our pets were well taken care of while away. She was even able to get out scared kitty to come out and visit her.
I needed help with both extremes of the pet guardian, an old dog with multiple illnesses and a young energetic puppy. Maggie was able to help me come up with a plan to manage both of their needs. I am so thankful to have found her service. She has a great depth of knowledge and I appreciate her flexibility as I have non-traditional work hours. I can go to work knowing both of my dogs are in good hands.
Maggie was fantastic - she cared for our senior cat (George -17) and our scaredy cat (Louis - 7) for a week. She was able to get Louis to come out from hiding for pets and was able to get close to George and he even allowed a few head scratches! She sends as many texts as you like to get status - and pictures! She let us know about a potential urinary issue with Louis (he was ok) - but that is EXACTLY what we were hoping for. Maggie cares, is diligent, and is clearly trusted by our boys. We will definitely hire her again! I cannot recommend her more strongly!

My two cats are my kids and I used to fret about whether or not the friends and family I asked to volunteer to look after them while we were gone were caring for them like I do. I don't worry anymore, and that is because of Stay Lady Stay. Our cats love Maggie, they are completely comfortable around her. She pays attention to detail, she is reliable, she has great instincts, and she checks in with a text message each day that includes a photo of my girls. I always look forward to those texts when I am out of town. Phenomenal cat care. I have two 16 year old cats, each with their own medical needs. Maggie successfully administers pills, liquid oral and transdermal cream medications, even on my stubbornly reclusive cat. Being able to travel again without stressing about whether my cats are receiving the extensive care they need has been such a relief. We also know our home is in great hands: Maggie offers to bring in the mail, roll in the trash, and water plants if needed. She provides photo/video updates with each visit and is so observant, thoughtful, and communicative. So grateful to have found a reliable catsitter. I highly recommend Stay Lady Stay. This comment is real and true. I have three giant malamutes who can be challenging. Bear Prairie Kennels does absolutely fantastic with them. My pups love their caretakers here. My pups are safe with them. If Google gave me the opportunity to give 7 stars only once a year, I would give Bear Prairie Kennels that special 7 star rating.
This is the second time we had our dog stay with Bear Prairie Kennels, but the first time I've actually visited the place. It's a very pretty drive up there. Taylor and Nolan (I hope I remembered those names right!) greeted me and were both extremely nice and helpful. My wife had previously told me how kind the staff were, and she was absolutely right! Nolan helped me to my car with some of our dogs things, which was very kind of him. Taylor said our dog was a good boy, which made me very happy to hear. Whenever our dog stays somewhere else, he gets home and is very low energy and just wants to rest. When he comes home from Bear Prairie Kennels, he is chipper, energetic, and very happy. Still needs his rest, but you can definitely tell that he had a good time and wasn't stressed out when I picked him up. It's extremely important for us to trust the kennel we leave our dog with since he means so very much to us. I trust Bear Prairie Kennels with him fully. Friendly staff, beautiful location, and one stress-free dog. You guys are really doing a stellar job and I hope you know how much it means to both of us. We will never leave our dog anywhere else if we can help it. You all deserve a pat on the back for being so awesome. Thank you so much!!!
My dogs always have a great time at Bear Prarie, so much so that when we arrive they ditch me immediately and don’t look back. I also appreciate the additional bathing services. My dogs come back tired and smelling clean. Highly recommended.
Pretty sure my two dogs hide when they see I am coming to pick them up because they LOVE this place and want to stay longer. The owners really listen to the needs of your dogs, my older guy doesnt like overwhelming socialization and my younger wants cant get enough. Bear Prairie Kennels is AWESOME! Beautiful facilities, and purpose built for a perfect stay for your dog. Suz and her staff are AMAZING and our dog has the best time while there! This place is a dream come true. We recently took a family trip and we were unable to take our dog with us. This put us in a position of trying to figure out what to do with the pup while we were away for a few days. Bear Prairie Kennels came highly recommended from a friend at work, and after deciding to give them a try, I can definitely see why. The whole facility is clean and feels brand new. The indoor accommodations are spacious, and there's a lot of room outside for the pups to get some exercise too (like, acreage). The owner is really friendly and treated our dog as one of her own, she even posted several pictures of him on their instagram page daily so we got to see how happy he was there. I 100% could not be more pleased with our experience here. We now have a"go-to" boarding place, and will absolutely be using them again. I only wish I could give a 10⭐ rating.
The Bear Prairie Kennels owners are friendly, caring, and helpful. Our dog was well cared for and very happy when we picked him up. The facility is excellent: thoughtfully designed and spacious. We highly recommend B.P.K., and will continue trusting our doggo with them in the future.
Amazing place. My dog Butters stayed 2 weeks at the Kennel, and when I picked her up yesterday she was happy/healthy. Bear Prairie was referred to me from a friend that I used to know from West Columbia Gorge Humane Society, and I trust her judgement. Great people!!!
I had a week long vacation out of the country and was very thrilled when I found Lori! I have never left my bunny with someone before for that long and was super nervous. Lori made me feel much better about the whole process by giving me access to the bunny room camera and her extensive knowledge on rabbits. I got to check on my little guy the whole time I was gone! Will definitely use Whisker Wise boarding the next time I’m out of town!
My three guinea pigs are very spoiled and precious to me, so it’s hard for me to leave them when we go out of town. I am so glad to have found Whisker Wise! Lori takes excellent care of my girls and responds readily to texts when I inquire about how they’re doing. They stayed with her for over two weeks this summer while we were visiting family and upon picking them up I could see they were happy and healthy (no lost weight, which happened at a previous place we boarded them at). She even gives them fresh veggies/tomatoes from her garden! Definitely recommend Whisker Wise. :)
Our guinea pigs Teddy and Domino were very well cared-for during our week and half away this month. The owner is super responsive to texts, understanding and responsible, and even sent us a cute video of our babies. :) Would definitely use again! Oh, and it was super affordable too!
Whisker Wise watched my two bonded English Lop Rabbits for about 17 days. Lori did such a good and attentive job in caring for them! They seem healthy and happy as can be. I also really enjoyed that Whisker Wise Animal Care and Boarding has cameras set up over the rabbit areas so you can check in on your rabbit at any time. Lori is also extremely kind and definitely cares about the animals themselves. When my rabbits ran out of a supplement/treat Lori went out and bought some more. I would definitely leave my Rabbits with Whisker Wise again!
When I went out of town for a week I was glad to find a place like whisker wise and someone like Lori to take care of my bunny. I've never boarded her before so I was a little apprehensive, but Lori assured me she would be very well cared for. She even offered to place her in a pen with a camera. It was so nice to see her on video whenever I wanted so I could check up on her and be able to move the camera around to see who she was rooming next to.The size of the pen looked very spacious and nicely set up with blankets. I would very much recommend Whisker Wise for any of your pocket pets and will definitely be using them again in the future!
I love Whisker Wise Animal Care & Boarding! Lori is absolutely wonderful and takes such good care of my rabbit. I never have to worry about him when I go out of town. She gives him the attention he needs and gives me updates on how he is doing. The setup she provides for rabbits is really nice and big. I used to board my bunny with my veterinarian, but I much prefer Whisker Wise. I have no reason to ever go to another boarder again!
Lori takes amazing care with the animals she watches. I was anxious to leave my newly adopted bunny for a week, but when I came back my sweet Maggie was even tamer than before! She has an amazing set up for bunnies (super cool modified room!) with toys and boxes and even little sitting pads for the bunns. She's super flexible about pick up and drop off and is very kind! She is awesome! Definitely recommend.
Fantastic experience! Our senior bunny was well cared for during the 10 days we were out of town, and I loved being able to check on her via webcam. We will definitely be booking again the next time we go on a trip!
Having recently moved to the area, we were a little nervous with finding a new place to have our rabbits stay while we were out of town. Lori was great to talk to and put me at ease- additionally having a camera where we could view our buns to check in on them was a huge plus as well! Benny and Jasper were well taken care of during their stay over the New Year's holiday. Definitely will be bringing our buns here in the future for boarding. Thank you Lori!
Lori took in my bunnies at the last minute because I lost power. She was super kind and helpful! She was flexible and attentive. I know my kids were well taken care of. I definitely recommend her and will go back to her in the future.
My lab Millie has been going to Nightshift Petcare since she was 18 weeks old. Joy helped me train Millie and I attribute much of her sweetness to the time she spent learning to socialize with the other dogs at NSPC. Millie attends daycare 2x a week and there is no where else I would leave her for overnight boarding. Joy is the best of the best of the very best!!!
Joy is the best. My pup probably has a better vacation than I do every time I drop them off. Could not recommend higher.

Windy and her team helped us with our puppy for the entire first year. They started off walking her twice a day and then to once a day. They update you with heart melting pictures so I could show them off to my colleagues. They carried over all the leash training and immediately notified us if anything seemed odd. We couldn't have done the first year without them. And our puppy loved every minute of it. I definitely recommend their services.
I was very anxious about going on a planned vacation due to my 18 year old cat who is on many meds when my neighbor recommended Windy. Windy was so calm and asked just the right questions when I met her that I felt a huge sense of relief. During my vacation she regularly sent updates and photos and did such a great job with both of my cats. I highly recommend her company!

Windy is extremely professional and reliable, and has assisted our two dogs with walks for several years now. She has adapted to our changing circumstances, and welcomes new challenges with understanding and kindness. When my daughter was born and we unexpectedly had to stay in the NICU for several days, Windy stepped up to make sure our two dogs at home got their walks and food (and of course belly rubs) while we were away, which allowed us to focus on our new arrival until she got the care she needed. I've been a client of BellyRub for nearly two years, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for the kindest, most reliable, friendly, and affordable pet care. I have a shy and very sweet cat that needed sitting whenever I traveled, both for weekends away, as well as up to two week trips, and BellyRubs always provided the best care. The owner, who provided my cat care each and every time, understood that my cat needed time to adjust before she would be comfortable around her, and did so with great patience. Due to her careful efforts, my cat grew to enjoy her company, and was always well adjusted and healthy when I returned from trips. She even noticed when my cat had an unexpected health issue while I was away, and worked with me early and late in the day to provide her with care that resolved the issue almost immediately. I received regular photo text message updates on how my cat was doing at home while I traveled, and I always came home to a friendly note about my cat's time while I was away. She went above and beyond to help me in a pinch, and was always helpful and courteous. She has excellent attention to detail, and a strong understanding of cat behavior and needs. I could not recommend BellyRub Pet Services higher, and am very grateful for the care they provide.
BellyRub is wonderful!!! Windy was more than helpful when we moved to Portland. Our sitter was very friendly and very informative. She sent pictures every visit. I felt very good about the service they were providing. My cat handled our leaving for vacation (right after we moved) wonderfully because our sitter treated him so well. I HIGHLY recommend them.
Windy at BellyRub has been tending to my dogs since September 2013, when I brought home an eight week old Lab puppy brother to my three year old Lab. She has been great to work with, following direction well, and being flexible when needed. If I need an extra visit or decide to cancel because I'm working from home, I always receive a "no problem!". She goes above and beyond, noticing when something is off and asking me about it then fixing it if needed. She also checks on my ducks and chickens to make sure they have access to water if it's cold or hot outside. I know my dogs really enjoy having her!
Windy with Bellyrub Pet Services is the best, hands down. I have a 150 lb puppy that can be a handful, and he means the world to me. Windy is the only other person I trust to care for him. She is pleasant, flexible, dependable, and highly professional. No matter what my pup throws at Windy, she knows exactly what to do and always keeps me in the loop. I only wish everybody could be as good at what they do as Windy is. She is a true professional.
Windy took care of my girls quite a bit over the past couple years, and they loved her. Be it when I was out of town for several days straight, or stopping in a couple days a week when I had long days at work, I loved knowing that my girls would be well taken care of and that they looked forward to their visits with Windy. I am sad that we recently moved to deep SE Portland and are out of the BellyRub service area, but you can bet that if we move back to North Portland Windy will be one of the first people I contact!
When I adopted two small terriers from a rescue organization I knew I was going to need someone special to help me with their care. After contacts with several pet services in the area I chose to go with Windy at BellyRub because of her professionalism. She immediately understood the issues associated with rescue animals and displayed patience and kindness towards Wilbur and Daisy. She also was able to set limits on their impulsive and somewhat unpredictable behaviors, helping them to be come more confident and well behaved. In addition when Windy comes to the house she always checks things over such as their water and toys, as well as a time or two has cleaned up after an accident. I have grown to depend on BellyRub to take excellent care of my pups and they show nothing but love and excitement when she comes to the house. Ms Edie is the BEST pet sitter, period. She's been my go to sitter since we moved to the area in 2015. She treats my animals like her own, and they all love her. We have dogs, cats, chickens, and goats. She's always on time, super reliable, and she's walked half a mile through the snow to get to my house when her car couldn't quite make it up the hill.
Edie has such a gift with animals. She is loving, caring, calm and in control. She took two extremely high anxiety dogs, stayed with them 24/7 for 6 days while we went on our first vacation in almost 4 years. She kept us updated through texts and pics to allay our fears throughout the vacation. When we returned, the work she had done with them to reduce their anxiety and barking was incredible. We cannot kennel our dogs due to their healthy issues so she was a godsend. Cannot recommend highly enough. If your pets are a valued member of your family, do yourself a solid and provide the highest quality care available. You will not be sorry!
