Kurt has cared for our dog and home several times and has been awesome each time. We would welcome him back anytime. Kurt has been able to handle any situation, including taking Olivia to the vet, car maintenance, and home improvements. He is truly the renaissance man. A truly lovely location. Murphy is a soft hearted soul always by your side and eager to play. It was so nice to walk him as he is super smart and obedient. I loved the way he would come and gently rest is face on the bed to ask you to give him brekfast. Helen is an incredibly caring host. I highly recommend this lovely experience.
Claudia was a fantastic host! She made me feel welcome from the very start! It was wonderful to get to know her and her beautiful dog Token. Token was well behaved, and very sweet! We had some great walks together, and she also loved snuggles during the day and night! In addition to this, Claudia’s home is stunning inside and out! I would not hesitate to recommend Claudia and Token to any pet sitter, contemplating a sit in Auchencrow!
This was our first time here and what a joy it has been. We are missing Sally and Kevin already (they are the dogs !) Of course course Nelson the cat who is a character in every way that a cat can be! Paz and Guy were so generous and left us lots of lovely food in the fridge including baking fresh bread for our arrival and when they returned they invited us out for a supper with them and we stayed an extra night. Their home is so beautiful offering the very best of countryside and town amenities close by. The garden is enormous and their chickens are like little old ladies chattering in their own environment. It was the most relaxing place with the most loving and affectionate animals you could imagine. We miss you all already! Kisses Anne & Ian xx
Marina and Conor received us in an excellent way. We have had to take care of Vinko. Vinko is an extraordinary dog. He is a phenomenal friend and companion. We have cared for many dogs and with him we have had a special connection. We still miss Vinko. Vinco is the best. Maisy and Ida are family dogs who are a pleasure to be with. They enjoy company and each other and are a joy to watch playing and interacting together. They do not have a particular routine, but quickly grasp one when they get to know you. They sleep in their beds in the kitchen at night and welcome you in the morning with lots of affection before being let out into an enclosed walled garden. Ida the Jack Russell is timid and needs encouragement at first, but is friendly once coaxed. She likes her tummy rubbed and will roll on her back to guide you along. Maisy the chocolate Labrador is gentle and friendly, but, both will bark when ‘strangers’ come by. Locally there are plenty of walks. In particular, a 4–5-mile return/circular walk along a former railway track with high and low banks for the dogs to run up and down which leads into Hadleigh. Hadleigh has a nice pub where you can take the dogs and yourself for refreshments before returning home or extending on to the river walk. The cats are self-sufficient; they just need their bowls kept supplied with dried biscuits and may come to sleep with you at night. The house is warm and comfortable and easy to manage; it’s surrounded by fields, but not isolated. For me the kitchen is the place to be. However, there is also a TV room with fireplace that is cosy comfortable. It is a pleasure to watch Maisy and Ida run into the fields chasing whatever they have spotted. The walks are filled with pheasants, stoats, deer, hares, and delicious smells which may tempt them to run off. They have a whistle and will return dutifully when you call them though I would recommend keeping them on a lead for the return route home.
I very much enjoyed sitting for Heidi and Liam over this past weekend. Their house is very lovey and clean and has everything you could possibly want. They were very communicative and responsive to any questions I had. The 2 dogs Nina and Graham are about the cutest two dogs I have ever met. They were fun , playful and had great personalities. They were easy to care for and behaved well. The location of the house is also pretty fantastic! I was able to walk to a couple really great restaurants nearby and the train station is fairly close if you want to take that to Raleigh Or Durham. Would recommend! Thanks again for your hospitality!

Paddy, aged 17 yrs and as deaf as a post, was booked in for just 4 nights and she appears to have lived a life of luxury whilst in the loving care of Emma and her team. I was 'Whatsapped' a couple of photos with messages, keeping me informed of her status and it was very clear she was a happy moggy. Ensured my holiday was stress free! Collected and paid a very reasonable fee today. Thank You Emma. Paddy is now planning her next stay with you as you definitely feed her more tuna a day than me!! 😀😀
After trying a few catteries in the area, I knew as soon as I got there that this place was a cut above the rest. It's really well designed and spacious and each "penthouse" is cosy and clean. Emma the owner was so enthusiastic to meet our cat Kimchi. And she clearly wanted to make sure that Kimchi was as comfortable as could be to help her adapt quickly to a new environment. Each enclosure has been supplied with toys, blankets, and beds. Emma was communicative and helpful and clearly cares about the cats. This was in stark contrast to the others that we'd tried. In addition to the toys and beds in the enclosure, Emma also let Kimchi have a little stroll every day to stretch her legs. When we picked Kimchi up it was clear that she had enjoyed her 5 days as she was strutting around very happily. I was also impressed that Emma had been monitoring her behaviour throughout her stay and even sent us photos each day. It was all so professional, I couldn't recommend this place highly enough.
My three cats have just come home from their first visit to this wonderful Cattery. From start to finish, I knew they were in very safe hands. Emma sent regular photo’s and video’s, which was great. The cats were extremely well looked after and came home very happy. I have already booked for my next holiday. I would highly recommend Purton Cattery 🐈
Can’t fault Emma and all the team at Purton Cattery. My two boys were looked after to the highest of standards. They were settled during their stay and in fact were in no rush to leave their rooms when I came to pick them up. Will definitely book another kitty holiday in the future
Emma , Scott and staff at Purton Cattery were brilliant looking after our boy Frankie while we had a long break recently. We were sent regular updates to see how Frankie was getting on which was very reassuring. Unfortunately our flight was delayed and Frankie had to stay another night which Emma accomodated with no problem at all. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Purton Cattery where you know your special boys and girls will be looked after so well. In fact Frankie is already booked in for next May.
Our two cats seemed very happy and contented to be staying at the Purton Cattery . Nice touch to send photos of the cats whilst in their care. Would most certainly use them again as Emma and her staff came over as very caring people . Patricia Tonks
Confident spent 2 weeks with Emma from 23/6 - 8/7 2023 - whilst we were away celebrating our 25th Wedding anniversary. We were really nervous about using a cattery as she was a feral kitten who had adopted us but still has free reign to come and go as she pleased. Although she does like to sleep on my bed. So, we couldn’t bare the thought of her having to fend for herself whilst we were away so we decided on a cattery. Emma had helped us in the past with capturing feral cats / kittens in the area so her cattery was a natural choice. Confident adjusted so well for a first time cat in a cattery. We wouldn’t hesitate to use and recommend Emma/ Purton Cattery, she really does love the cats she cares for. We genuinely believe that confident enjoyed her holiday more than we did 🤣. We were so impressed at how the individual cat holiday homes are set up and that they have lots of room to move around, comfort items, heating, treat days and amazing view of what's going on in the huge garden. Our two settled in straight away, we got regular photos and videos and on our return there were no signs that the had been stressed.
