This is the second time Jake has been our zeewoi. That really says it all because we reached out to him to ask him to come back. The pups love Jake and he is a very tidy, organized, and fun loving person who is also a great communicator. We hope to have Jake come back again and again. If Jake sits for you, you are very fortunate!!!
We took a month long trip to Europe and had a lot of trepidation leaving our home that long. Plus, we didn't want to put our dog in the kennel for that length of time either, so getting a house sitter seemed the best answer. While we had anxieties in doing so, having never done so before, we can totally, honestly say it turned out to be the best decision ever. Likely because Bill and Diane were absolutely wonderful caretakers of both our home and our dog. They were kind enough to agree to overlap a day on both our departure and return. That made us much more comfortable in explaining all the house quirks and dog idiosyncrasies. The house was in perfect shape when we returned home. Clean and neat. Actually, Diane did far too much laundry and cleaning for our return. We didn't expect so much attention to detail. Our dog, Emmy, was obviously spoiled with attention and care, but clearly she was kept within her house rules (no couch or chair sitting, people food, etc). While we know she didn't understand our absence, she suffered no void in attention or care. Hard to thank someone enough for doing that. Our only "regrets" are that Bill and Diane were so conscientious about the sit, they went out and bought dish soap, paper towels, etc and felt uncomfortable using some supplies that we left with the absolute intent for them to use them. In addition, they had a family emergency that they didn't share with us until the very end, for which we feel very badly about. While it seems to have worked out, we wish they would have brought it up sooner and we could have worked out options to help them. That just reflects that they took full ownership for the "job" of house-sitting. They took the responsibility of watching our home and Emmy above and beyond what was expected. For that, we are incredibly grateful. We can only hope that they enjoyed themselves and relaxed some while they were here. If you are considering them for taking care of your home and pet, don't think twice, just book them. Our best wishes to them, as well as their family will be in our thoughts and prayers.
Tanya was easy to communicate to & seemed to absorb all the little details to care for my critters. Everyone in great shape & happy on my return. House was all pick up, it felt good to be back in my own digs after 2 weeks. Everyone very comfortable with her. I am happy to recommend her!
Siobhan and David - such generous hosts - made us feel extremely welcome from the moment we arrived to look after their two adorable flat-coated retrievers Brodie and Callum. We turned up late afternoon as the couple had an early start the next morning. Over coffee they were able to explain in detail the dogs' routines, David later taking us out with the "boys" to show us some of their favourite walks before we settled down to a wonderful meal prepared by Siobhan. We instantly fell for the "boys" - big dogs with big personalities, who proved an absolute delight to be around. They have the sweetest of natures - friendly, fun and affectionate and who proved the greatest of companions for each other and us. We thoroughly enjoyed exploring the surrounding countryside and local beaches with them - our trips a total pleasure. The village we stayed at was a fabulous base to see a stunning area. We came away happy to have enjoyed a fabulous sit, but sad to leave our new best friends Brodie and Callum. We cannot recommend this sit enough - a joy.
