Although this housesit didn't go exactly to plan as Ali & Clare weren't able to get away on holiday we thoroughly enjoyed our few days at Sheardrum, and we absolutely would highly recommend this housesit if you get the opportunity. The location is fantastic, nestled in the hills it's really idyllic and peaceful, tucked away without being too isolated. The accommodation is beautiful and very comfortable, it's amazing to think of the work and love that Ali & Clare have put into the restoration of Sheardrum. The animals were a pleasure to tend to, the hens laid us fresh eggs each morning, the ducks are just comical, and the lambs are adorable. There's also plenty to explore within a short drive, including pretty little villages and some stunning walks. Finally, Ali & Clare are kind, funny, generous, just really lovely people. If you're wanting to do a housesit on a farm Sheardrum ticks all the boxes and more!
It was amazing to stay. We had a very nice stay in the magnificent house of two world citizens and travellers like ourselves , Lala and Mauro. The dogs Reggie and Brin missed there bosses for the first 2 days but with lots of love and extra attention they became very close with Maxime and myself. We had several walks a day and they had a good appetite during our stay. Adjusted diets were not a problem to follow. The cats, Sam and Mango, were very easy to feed and maintain. Mango the coachsurfer that she is was very independant and Sam liked some cuddles in the sofa during the evening. We had a lovely stay , had the chance to visit the area and the beachside. For the rest very lovely , peacefull place to stay with amazing fruit treas and good temperature pool. Lala and mauro were awesome in giving very clear guidelines and were always available for questions. We had very lovely evenings together as well before and after the sit. Thanks for the lovely housesit and thanks for putting trust in us as humans and housesitters . Hope to see you again ❤️
Being in Virginia's home felt like a tranquil retreat with lovely companions. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Virginia's home is an oasis of cleanliness and serenity. Every corner exudes a sense of calm. Her space allowed me to focus on my creative outlets, while also providing the perfect backdrop for some much-needed rest and relaxation. Now let's talk about the cats Dolly, Bootz, and Puss. These adorable companions added an extra layer of joy to my visit. Dolly is very ranbunctous which is normal for a young cat. Bootz is shy and won't come out until he's ready. Puss does his own thing. He loves being outside, just make sure you put his collar on before letting him out and he'll come running back when you call for him. Virginia herself is a gracious host, ensuring that I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. She came back and gifted me with some goodies from her trip which was VERY sweet! Her thoughtful gestures and genuine hospitality made me feel like a welcomed friend rather than a stranger. I'm already looking forward to the next opportunity to return and spend more time with Virginia, Dolly, Bootz, and Puss. If you're seeking a peaceful retreat with wonderful company, I highly recommend considering a stay in Virginia's home. It's a gem that I'm grateful to have discovered through TrustedHousesitters.
We had a fantastic time with Elwood, Jen, and Jeff in Uzès! Jen and Jeff are warm and welcoming people with fascinating stories and great spirits. They were even kind enough to pick us up at the bus stop in Nîmes and serve us a delicious wild mushroom ragu. Uzès is beautiful and the walk there is as well. They have an incredible home with though-provoking/worldly decor, and it is easy to care for and enjoy. Elwood is a distinguished little gentleman with a lot of love to give. He's ready for both adventures and movie night at home. He's a sweet little man and we'll miss him very much. Thank you Jen & Jeff!
I MUST leave a feedback about this pet sitting. Sebi and Raluca are such a kind couple, we had a perfect communication before and during my stay in their pretty and immaculate new flat in central London, a few steps to Tower Bridge. BUT the princess of the house is Luna, she's friendly, fluffy, playful and has the most beautiful eyes I ever seen in a cat. I can't reccomend enaugh this place, Sebi and Raluca and obviously this wonderful cat. I hope to look after Luna next time that I come to London and can't thank you enough for the great opportunity.
Our experience house and pet sitting for Sylvia and Andy was absolutely delightful. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and kindness. Sylvia and Andy are exceptionally generous hosts who made sure we felt right at home. They were incredibly responsive to any questions we had and provided thorough instructions that made everything straightforward. The animals were an absolute joy to be around. They were all well mannered and were very loving and affectionate- usually sticking close to us wherever we went. Stanley, with his calm demeanor and playful spirit, was always eager for love and attention. Maggie was very sweet-natured and, despite her age, loved being included in all activities. During our visit, the weather was very hot, prompting us to spend ample time relaxing in the shade to keep cool with the dogs. As the evening brought cooler temperatures, we enjoyed playing with them in the yard. It was lovely to see how sweet they were with each other—especially during walks, where Stanley would patiently wait for Maggie to catch up rather than rushing ahead. Muffin was also very sweet and affectionate and though she would usually spend her days lounging on her favourite chair in the sun, she would always spend her evenings cuddled up on one of our laps. One of my favorite moments was enjoying my morning coffee outside with the beautiful view, when Muffin came and snuggled up on my lap. The ducks were also adorable and it was fun watching them roam around the pond in their little packs. Being with the animals added so much joy to our stay. We can’t write this review without mentioning how beautiful Sylvia and Andy’s home is. It is clean, comfortable and filled with lovingly curated memories, which made us both feel like we were at home away from home. The garden and orchard were also a delight, brimming with vibrant flowers, fruits, and vegetables. We were very grateful to be able to enjoy this fresh produce everyday. While we did explore the area, we found ourselves most content in their serene indoor and outdoor spaces. We deeply appreciated Sylvia and Andy’s welcoming nature, generosity and helpfulness throughout our stay. We would definitely love to sit for them again and wholeheartedly recommend this experience to anyone seeking a rewarding house and pet sitting opportunity.
