We had a lovely stay looking after Tara and Libby, the house is nice and cosy and a great location for visiting Cardiff and the surrounding valleys. The instructions for looking after the cats were really clear and helpful. It took a little while for Tara to warm to us but eventually played with us a little. Libby gives the best cuddles! Moira was generous enough to bake us a loaf of bread which was so tasty! And as it was lukes birthday they got him a card and some beers which again was so generous and thoughtful 😊 Thank you to Moira and Adrian for making us feel so welcome in your home, we would love to come back in the future
I had a brief and sweet holiday with Boots and enjoyed his company and home immensely! Cynthia was so sweet throughout the entire process and was great at communicating everything I needed to know prior to the sit. She and her husband have a beautiful home in round rock that they share with Boots. He is such a vibe! We really enjoyed hanging out and relaxing together and we got closer and closer over our couple days together. He’s a really cool cat!! I had a guest bedroom suite and there was space for me to park in the garage which is always nice! They also have a lovely backyard that felt really good to hang out in, even with a bit damp and cool weather. Boots does get medication orally, but it’s easy to administer and Cynthia covers all of that prior to the sit. All in all, I had a great time getting to know and care for Boots and I’d absolutely sit for him again! Melanie was very organized and provided us with the information and comforts we needed for a great sit. Ella and Lola are affectionate and entertaining dogs. We enjoyed spending time with them. The view from the living room window was amazing. It was a beautiful spot for our dog walks. We would gladly sit here again and recommend it.
This was a fantastic sit. Danielle was friendly and organised. Great communication and a thorough welcome guide and handover. The house was very comfortable and the pets were great company. Nala the dog was friendly and playful, and even psychic! Bella was the boss! She said hello and gave cuddles when she wanted. We saw less of Misty but she let us know when she wanted more food.
We took care of Bertie Mabel and Bella and it was great. All three are adorable. On the first day it took Bertie an hour or two to get used to us but once he did he was very sweet. Bertie and Mabel loved coming to the couch next to us for cuddles while we were watching TV or on the computer. We became very good friends. Bella is an adorable kitten and very sweet. Louise and Paul were very attentive. They left everything ready to make our arrival and stay in the house very easy. The house is very nice and has an office space to work. Thank you Louise and Paul for choosing us.
Pet sitting for Charlea was magnificent. We extremely enjoyed caring for her marvelous 4 fur babies. They were very easy to watch and so fun to play with. We sat every day in her peaceful outside catio with the kitties looking at her beautiful gardens. It was so relaxing watching her amazing nature animals. We went on an unplanned holiday at short notice. The kennels were great at finding a space for our dog He stayed 3: weeks, which is a long time! Throughout our holiday we were provided with updates, of how he was. This was a lovely touch and welcomed by us all. When we collected him he was clean, a bit slimmer ( to many treats at home🤭) and very happy. Great service, great care of our dog.
We have used Kapiti kennels a number of times now for long and short stays. Lily, our boxer is always happy to go in. She loves hanging out with all the dogs. They staff are a wonderful team.
Quiet poor service in doing the bookings. Thought of booking with them for my dog for long stay for the first time but didn't had a nice conversation with the owner. They repeatedly booked the wrong date and blamed us that we provided the wrong date. Was quiet rude in call and kept blaming us that we are providing wrong dates. The portal does not show any previous chats/requests history so hard to find the previous conversations. It feels like these businesses don't take their booking system seriously or take new customers for granted.
We needed a kennels to look after our dog for an extended period of time - 3 weeks. This was because our booked dog sitter turned into a scam. We searched around and were recommended this place. When I dropped off our dog, I was pleasantly surprised that it looked like a fantastic place for our pup. The drive into the place, is clean, smart and the facilities look fantastic for dogs of all sizes. Whilst we were away, we were emailed with mini updates about how our dog was settling in and how happy she was - multiple times. It was such a relief to know our dog was being looked after by people that cared for animals and loved them the way they deserve. When we picked our dog up, she clearly looked like she had been looked after (had been washed) and was a happy pooch! Will we use these kennels again - without a question of doubt. Do we recommended them - yes - 100%.
I thought I had posted a review but turns out I hadn't. I apologise for the delay. Our dog Kai was boarded at Kapiti Kennels October to November last year. He really enjoyed his time there. It really gave us a piece of mind getting updates after leaving his for so long for the first time. Definitely recommend!

Dogs barking all day and all bloody night. Staying at Lindale Motels and all we have heard since arriving yesterday afternoon is constant barking as if someone is deliberately distressing a group of dogs. Absolutely shameful.
Love this place. Always helpful. Dog goes to daycare twice a wk and I would recommend you check them out if looking for a place your dog can hang out for the day. Also great for long term stays.
Just picked up the dogs after a 3 week stay. Been using Valroa for years. Gill and Ben treat all the dogs as if they were their own. You can always rest easy on holiday knowing your children are being well looked after by very capable and experienced hands.
Our 3 beautiful fur babies are there for nearly 3 weeks. Aw we really miss them. BUT! Being able to call and get an update is helping us from missing them. Hope they Wana come home when we're back. BIG THANK YOU.

Very reliable kennels, Valeria staff remember your dog and their needs. Have been known to pity the dogs that are abandoned to them. Your dogs will need a wash after so much playing and exercise time.

Used Miss Lily's for the first time a couple of weeks ago to look after our 2 cats. They were there 12 nights. They both came home as bright as buttons. The cattery is run by mother and daughter who were lovely to talk to. We were able to see where our cats would be housed. There individual cages were spacious with 2 levels, very clean and had a cat door out into an open run area. There were numerous items for the cats to play on and with in the large communal area. Lots of things to climb and areas to sit away from orhers. I will be using Miss Lily's in the future and would highly recommend this service.
Miss Lily's looked after our fur baby wonderfully. They were so accommodating when our flight home was cancelled and we needed another night of cat hospitality for our girl. Will definitely be returning.
Steph and Fay looked after our beautiful cat for nearly a year while we had insurance renovations done. They were so lovely to her and she was so happy with them for such a long time. There is a custom made house for the cats with over 30 cat rooms that have both indoors and outside sections. Stephanie and Faye really take an interest in their guests. The cats might be let out to play in a large central area of the house that has a bed and heaps of cat toys if they are sociable. They can also handle any medications the cats need. I'll be using them again next time I need to travel.
My elderly cat decided to get sick while at Miss Lily’s for two weeks, I believe it was an undiagnosed terminal cancer by all accounts. Their passion and dedication to ensure your cats well being is clearly paramount and there was no hesitation taking our girl to an urgent vet when they realised something was badly wrong. Forever grateful for this and also the resulting time we had with our cat which wouldn’t have been possible without Miss Lily’s getting her to the vet quickly. Thank you Miss Lily’s.

Addie looked after our 1 year old Ragdoll cat for a week, by coming morning and night to feed and spend time with him. She was absolutely fabulous. playing with him, cuddling and brushing him, and ensuring he was all round happy and content while we were away. We loved getting photos and videos of him during her visits. We came back to a very happy cat who seemed to enjoy being able to stay at home rather than a cattery which he previously had found very stressful. Home feeding visits was the perfect solution. We’ve already booked her in again over Christmas and would recommend her services 100%

I have 3 energetic spirited bulldogs and have struggled for 7 years to find anyone that i trusted to house sit, or walk / look after my fur babies. Then a miracle happened, and we were given the recommendation of Addys from Wags n Whiskers. As soon as my furbabies met her I could tell this was gonna be a match made in heaven and i was right. She has house sat for us and has walked them weekly since 2023 and my dogos love her more than me. We cant even say her name in the house without them all getting super excited. So it would appear , the stars have aligned and she is now part of our furmily! And in addition to all her dogo super powers she is such a super trustworthy and ethical person, so leaving her to house sit means me and my hubby can have well deserved mini breaks for the first time in 7 years!!! Thanks to Adalyn we no longer worry about our dogs when going away on holiday. Last year we used Wags and Whiskers for the first time. Our miniature schnauzer Alfie was still a puppy and full of beans. On returning home we found the most relaxed and happy dogs. They clearly had not missed us, which is the first time ever. AMAZING! Adalyn is the pet sitter/ dog walker/animal whisperer that you need in your life! She is so reliable, unbelievably flexible, kind and most of all incredible with animals. She has walked our dogs and house sat a number of times and is outstanding. Adalyn is amazing. She looks after our three dogs, two cats and tropical fish with no problems. We have an elderly doggo, a puppy and a very needy dog and they all adore her. They're relaxed and happy when we get home and it's so nice to not have to worry about our precious animals while we're away. We also get the bonus of beautiful updates with photos and videos while we're away. Can't recommend enough.

I have always known Emma to be extremely capable and very knowledgable when it comes to dogs. This was evident in the easy rapport she built with the dogs (and their owners) as well as how happy the dogs are to see her and hang out. Emma looked after our dog, Ziggy, while we were on holiday and did an amazing job. It is obvious that she loves dogs and she is very good with them. Lola, our 1 year old French Bulldog, loved her visit to Kapiti PetVilla! She hadn't been to a kennels before, but she was very well taken care of and had another Frenchie there to play with. She was clean and happy when we picked her up! Mary sent us an email while we were away to let us know Lola was happy, which was so helpful. Lola looks forward to her next visit later this year!
Mary and PetVilla were fantastic! We sent our cat and our dog there for a week and they were both well looked after. Thank you Mary and team, if we can were relocating to the South Island, we would absolutely be staying again. The 40 minute drive from Porirua is worth is knowing your pets are in good hands.

Easy to book and coordinate with. We had to book nearly a week out and it was stress free. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our dogs appeared well cared for and happy. One of our dogs had allergies and they were able to spot it and gave her meds as needed. Would recommend and use again.
First time using Mary’s Petvilla. Impressed by the thorough approach at the booking stage dealing with our dog’s personality, vaccination status etc. Clear communication on what we needed to bring. Our dog came back super chilled and happy after a few days. Obviously had a great time and we would definitely take him back there.
I have had cats and dogs all my life and gone to many different cattery's and kennels. I recently took my 15 year old cat to Kapiti PetVilla for 2 weeks while I moved home. I am so so impressed! They communicated regularly and I used the option of being able to watch her in her cage 24 hours a day! Whenever I was worried about her I went online and could see how she was! Staying overnight at Pet Villa was the first time our over anxious 15 month Cavalier had been separated from me for more than a few hours. She had a ball. Our 3 boys were staying with Kapiti PetVilla for 2 weeks during what was a pretty wet and wintery time. On pick up the boys look healthy and happy. This is the first time we have left our boys for so long and were glad that whilst we were away on holiday, we did not have to worry about them at all. We are saving up for our next holiday and their stay at Kapiti PetVilla.
It was our 6 month old cat’s first time at a cattery and we’re so glad we went with the pet villa in Kapiti. So much care and consideration is taken into account for each pet and he had a fantastic time and we would happily use them again and recommend to others! 5 stars for 5 star accommodation. Highly recommended! Very caring pet sitters who genuinely care about our dog. They always do their best to meet our dogs needs & our requests on the day. Creature comforts (Tyla, Leah and Shirley) looked after our 3 cats while we were away for the last week, such an awesome service for very shy cats who are comfiest in their own home. Whilst the service appeared to be what I was looking for and I signed up and agreed to having a pet sitter come and feed my fur baby, I did not expect that over the course of 9 days three seperate individuals would be given access to my property to feed my cat!!! This was not explained to me. First concern - three strangers were inside my house when only anticipated one, and how was there continuity of care for my cat with all these strangers coming and going? One feeder did a great job, but the other two were average and one even copy and pasted his daily report, and failed to stick to the agreed feeding times. I have reached out to the service but the silence is deafening !!!
I have 3 fur babies at home (2 cats and a rabbit) and leaving them for work trips is always hard. But knowing creature comforts will come round and feed my precious souls makes the trip a little bit more bearable. I love receiving the daily reports with photos of the pets and cute summary of what your pets have been up too. They clean litter trays (and even hairballs) top up hay baskets, feed and for me even empty the dehumidifier. It's fantastic and means my older cat can stay in her familiar surroundings putting less stress on her. The carers provide pats and treats (what I provide) and you csn see the care for the job come through in the reports. You have to provide Vet details and confirm the carers can take your pet to the vets if they fo d any concerns- which again is a huge relief to know. Highly, highly recommended for anyone in the Wellington region if planning to go away. Whilst all the carers have been fantastic a special shout out to Tyla- my boy cat is very shy and timid of strangers yet they managed to get him to stay inside whilst they visited and even got pets from him- so a proper cat whisper there. :)

We had the BEST experience using Creature Comforts this week. Great service! We have an elderly kitty who needs her nailed trimmed but won’t let us do it! Creature Comfort offers an easy, low-stress way for our kitty to get that done in the comfort of her own home. We def recommend the wonderful cat friendly staff at Creature Comforts in Wellington!
As our lovely cat got older, she would get stressed to the point of illness if we used a cattery. Creature Comforts was recommended by a co-worker, and I wouldn't use anybody else now. Cally is safe in her own space and has somebody come attend to her every day. Great feedback and information about each visit means we can feel safe. Highly recommend.
I have confidently used creature comforts for two years and have complete trust in them to not only look after my cat but my home as well. The daily updates including photos are so fantastic. Niki looks after Milly - the scarediest cat i the world. I don't think they met face to face for a couple of years but now Niki has her number and they are on silly hissing terms :) She's cared for her while I've been on long trips, always adding to Milly's toybox. I should probably mind that she likes her Niki toys way more than any I gave her. I have full confidence leaving Milly with Niki, and appreciate the regular updates she sends me. If you've got a bundle of fluffy nerves, it will be in good hands with Niki.
I’m so happy I discovered Niki’s pet sitting service, at what seemed like very short notice. Excellent service, and I would highly recommend for anyone worried about their pets being lonely or stressed while they are away. Niki and her son are caring, friendly and thoughtful. It is obvious they are animal lovers and will go the extra mile.
The best evidence I have for how much Niki loves and cares for your pets was actually at a recent market. I hadn't used her for a while as hadn't been away but when Rocky (spoilt little Frenchie) spotted her at the market he let out a squeal of pure joy and dragged me to her. I'm not sure I've ever seen him so happy to see anyone and when we finally parted he kept looking back over his shoulder, not wanting to lose sight of his Niki. Niki is amazing with animals and I would always trust her with my babies.

We have had Nikki look after our dogs at our home for a few years now and have always felt they were in good hands with her. Niki is the only person I would trust my four-legged babies with. They adore her and she takes amazing care of them. Photos every day and little updates on what they are doing make for a much more relaxing holiday, not having to worry about our boys.
Niki was amazing. Available very short notice and easy to contact. Extremely warm and intuitive, our very shy ragdoll Ollie became fast friends with her while we were away. We received daily updates with gorgeous photos. She really goes the extra mile, cannot recommend enough!
Niki is excellent with dogs and treats them as if they are her own. Gypsy was very happy being left with her and Niki took great care of our house too.
My cat Harry had a 3 week vacation at Scratch Pad Cattery. He was well loved and cared for - so much so - that he didn't really want his vacation to end. Highly recommend the team, the service and the environment purpose-built for cats who feel like they just want to have some 'me-time'.
Our senior cat has stayed here several times since we moved to the coast and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Scratch Pad. They treat Jayna (17) with so much love and care, I know she's in good hands when we're away. Last time I took her in it was her birthday, and she got a spontaneous serenade of happy birthday. The facilities are also lovely. I really like the space. If I was a cat, I'd want to stay here, too.
Marvellous staff who look after your furry friend and run a tight ship. I can relax on hols knowing Moko is in safe hands. Super friendly and kind people. The cats get indoor/outdoor flow in their run and can socialise in the big room. Moko didn't want to come down from the top level in the big room when I went to collect him. Perfect respite care for cat parents!
I cannot rate Scratch Pad highly enough! Wonderful carers with wonderful facilities. Our vocal, aloof Mika was cared for with love. Despite not settling in as comfortably as we had hoped, Scratch Pad staff made sure she was eating, toileting and healthy as can be with regular attention. This is a great cattery. My cat boarded at Scratchpad for 6 weeks while I moved house. Natalie, Lisa, and Martin took such great care of her as well as all the other cats in their care. They were professional, knowledgeable, flexible and accommodating. I observed the wonderful care they provided to all the cats as I visited my cat for an hour each week. My cat is not sociable and didn't want to leave her personal cage, but with their patience and encouragement she got to the point of spending all day relaxed in the playroom with the other cats. This team is great, I've talked with them a lot and watched them work, they really personalize care for each cat. The facility is clean and has a terrific playroom, and each cage has a lovely small outdoor run with driftwood and a view of the garden, or the trees behind. I highly recommend this cattery. Clean and loving environment for your furry friends. Owners and staff are friendly, they keep you updated on your cat throughout their stay. Well fed and spacious area for them to wander around. Would highly recommend them!

The best cattery we've used so far for our two fur queens. They always come home well fed and calm. Also an important thing is that they've never came back with "bad habits" learnt from other catteries we tried prior. The people here really take care of your kitties with love. (One of my cat didn't want to come home the last time ahahaha)
My three cat's have just finished their first stay at Scratchpad. Right from when I was initially shown around to picking up my cat's,at the end of their stay, the owners are very caring & friendly. The cattery is immaculate, spacious, individual inside/outside runs, plus communal area. Highly recommended.
Our cat stays with these guys and we can't help but recommend it enough. The team are well organized and so friendly. Our cat is never too stressed after we pick him up too which is nice.
Catherine took care of our Kobe for two weeks whilst we were overseas, and he seemed so happy playing on the beach and in the lounge with the other pups. When Kobe became unexpectedly ill, Catherine promptly took him to the local vet and kept us informed every step of the way. Thank you so much Catherine for your care and attention!
We highly recommend Catherine for doggy daycare and boarding. Charlie was a timid dog when she joined daycare and has benefitted from regular socialisation with other dogs and she adores Catherine! Charlie just spent 10 days happily boarding with Catherine in a safe and loving home environment. Charlie was well cared for and happy on our return. Catherine took such great care of our dog who came back happier than ever! She maintained constant communication including photos and videos of our dog on a regular basis and was very careful to meet her every need. Catherine took great care of Nessie our 2 year old dog while we were away on a recent holiday. From the start Catherine’s approach and understanding of dogs was immediately reassuring that Nessie would be both well cared for and have a good time. Nessie settled really quickly in Catherine’s home and with the other dogs. We received photos & videos of the dogs out walking, exploring new dog parks and relaxing at home almost daily. Nessie was clearly having a exceedingly good time and was being well cared for. I highly recommend Catherine as a dog minder and we would definitely leave Nessie with her again.
The service Catherine provides at Salty Dogs is fantastic and this is evident in how excited our little cavoodle is to go there. We get sent photos and videos of the various adventures the dogs get to go on during the day. I think it’s fair to say that the time our dog spends at daycare with her friends is the highlight of her week.
Catherine is amazing and has provided so much love, kindness and support for our dogs, present and for our recently departed boy. We are blessed to have her in our lives, Poppy loves the walks when we are at work for the day.
Our dog Squid is our princess. We were worried about taking her from the daycare she's been at for 12 years to move onto somewhere new. Salty Dogs has exceeded our expectations in every way. We would never have thought that for the same price, Squid would get one on one attention (as opposed to 20:1 attention), two walks a day, quality sofa snuggles and in the care of Catherine, who clearly is a dog person. Squid loves Catherine who recognises her needs as an older girl, so much so that Squid HOOTS with excitement on the drive to Salty Dogs. We should have moved her sooner. 100% recommend.
I was so thrilled to have my precious boy dropped off after spending a lovely weekend with Catherine. He came home relaxed and happy. Catherine sent me lots of photos and a video of Reggie running around the beach. I would highly recommend Catherine.
My dog Hero had such a fun time with Catherine and Hugo, he was happy and relaxed throughout and has been very expressive since he came home and keen to play. He really enjoyed spending time with the other friendly dogs, and I enjoyed the nice updates from Catherine every day. Thank you Hero will be back to play soon!

The Hound Lounge is one of Wellington's TOP daycares. In 2018 the business was sold to a new owner who to this day has done nothing but make improvements and enrich our doggies. She is kind, welcoming and understanding. I saw first hand as she worked with other dog businesses in the community to improve The Hound Lounge and create a space that would not only allow the dogs a place to have fun and be safe, but to also set them up for the real world. When the business had to change premises, I was very impressed with how much work her and the staff put into ensuring the transition was smooth for the dogs and clients. The staff are knowledgeable in dogs and together the team have about 15 years of dog experience. I left Wellington almost a year ago, but if I ever return, I would definitely bring my dogs here and highly recommend anyone else to do the same.
I bring my dog Sydney here every Monday. Now he knows when it's monday morning and start biting my toe while I'm still in bed so he can go down to Hound Lounge. Staff are always friendly and they genuinely care for dogs. I can always see who else was there and got to play with Sydney on their facebook page with photos uploaded every day. Love this place and will take Syd down here as long as they're here.
My Dog Douglas cannot wait to get to the Hound Lounge in the morning. He literally pulls me on his lead to the car and then pulls me to the the Hound Lounge! My experience with Michal as well as all the employees has been amazing. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Hound Lounge in Miramar to any other dog owners. The care that my dog is provided is first rate and it's a relief and a pleasure to know that he's safe and happy while I'm at work.
My dog Meg has been going to Hound Lounge for nearly six years and she absolutely LOVES it! It's so reassuring to know she's in such great hands with professionals who love dogs. Hound Lounge has gone out of their way to take care of my other dog Manu who isn't as social as Meg and needs a quieter space when I have needed him to be looked after during the day. They understood his special needs and made sure he was comfortable and happy with playmates he could handle. He now trots in there with his tail up all excited which is amazing considering how nervous he can be. I feel confident that Michal and the staff at Hound Lounge take care of my pups as well as I would and cater to their different needs. They take the time to get to know individual dogs and tailor their care accordingly. I have no hesitation recommending Hound Lounge to any fur parent!

Our mini-schnauzer has been going to Hound Lounge for almost 3 years, since she was just a wee pup. She is very wary of strangers, so it gives my partner and I great satisfaction to see how happy and excited she is every morning when we drop her at the Lounge. It has become her second home, and the staff there truly are her extended family. An attentive, friendly, caring staff who work so hard to provide a safe fun place for our little pup! A++++
We cannot speak too highly of Michal and all the staff at Hound Lounge. They 're highly professional and dedicated dog lovers who take the time and care needed to make sure not only your dogs needs are properly looked after, but also that you are kept fully informed about everything. Our little black pug puppy, Douglas, adores going to daycare and cannot wait to get out of the car! We cannot thank them enough for this past year.
If you have a medium/large breed, energetic pup - this may not be the place to go. We decided to take our fun loving and energetic 18 month old Labrador Retriever here, as it was close to my work place. Our dog is reasonably well trained on and off lead and has successfully completed four training courses through reputable training organisations. Unfortunately we felt let down by the services provided by Hound Lounge in the few times we used their services. On the two occasions I dropped our dog off the staff were not that welcoming. My wife unexpectedly received phone calls from staff on each occasion he attended, they complained our dog was too energetic and playful for their liking and they suggested that we take him for a run before we bring him in. This was distressing for my wife as she felt she was being told off and that we were bad dog owners. I can assure anybody reading this our Labrador is quite normal for his breed, and before this has had many successful days with another dog day care business without any problems. On his third visit my wife received a call after our boy had only been in the care of hound lounge for a couple of hours. They stated he was pestering another dog to play with him, but the other dog was not interested and was beginning to show signs of aggression towards ours; they said they didn't know what to do with him and surprisingly we were requested to pick him up immediately and to not return as he had been deemed too energetic and playful and posed a health & safety risk. To their credit the staff member apologised to my wife about it not working out, they also provided a refund for the unused portion of a 5-trip and offered to suggest other places to try, so they get an extra star for that. I feel this place will be fine for many owners (with smaller, docile dogs who are quiet and calm), unfortunately they lack the training skills to deal with larger, more energetic dogs. We found the level of care and service offered is more on the amateur side compared to one of their well known competitors.
My dog loves the Hound Lounge! She can't wait to get out of the car once we have parked and runs in the door tail wagging. The staff are always friendly and helpful. At the end of the days she comes home very tired from playing all day, and very happy. Would totally recommend the lounge to others.
My pup used to come just one day a week, but now comes 3 times as he loves it so much! He knows exactly what days we go, and he is beside himself with excitement on the trip there! The team are AMAZING, their love for the dogs is evident and they keep me updated on Zach's antics :) Totally recommend the Hound Lounge, Michal is 100% committed to providing the best care she can for our beloved pooches and Zach comes home exhausted but very very happy :)
