Caroline is a wonderfully friendly and interesting person and we had a lot of fun in our shared time together. We were delighted that she was willing and able to come a day and a half before we were due to leave. This gave us an opportunity to go over the running of the house, garden and dogs, and to review this frequently as Caroline did need this which we were very happy to do. She was very patient with us as we decided that to enable us to relax more whilst away we maintained regular contact. I imagine that must have been quite irritating for her, but she was always very cheery. It may be that we have been particularly lucky with previous housesitters, but we had come to expect that the house would be pristine on our return. Caroline had done loads to prepare for our return but wasn't quite ready for us, which was slightly disappointing after an arduous journey. However Caroline was happy to spend her last evening helping us to complete the cleanup process. We were really grateful for that as we had a really tight time schedule before leaving home again. We felt guilty that we were unable to help, from a distance with the problems that arose with TV, computer, car etc. We just couldn't work out what the problem was, so couldn't restore the electrical items to working state until we returned. Once again, Caroline was incredibly patient and cheerful with the situation, despite the lack of entertainment. She is such a positive soul. Caroline was absolutely brilliant with the dogs. Although she said she hadn't had much experience with dogs, so being with our girlies was a steep learning curve, she seemed to be a real natural. They absolutely adored her and obviously missed her when she left. She took them on really long walks and they were in fabulous condition when we returned. This was particularly pleasing with regard to our younger dog as she was only just returning to good condition when Caroline took over and not only maintained this condition, but improved upon it. We are so grateful to her for looking after them so well. That was the most important thing for us, and whilst some of the star ratings below are not at maximum, I'm sure they will improve as Caroline's housesitting experience increases. Definitely 5 stars for dog sitting though :)
