This house sit was our first and what a first it was! David and Kate were incredibly gracious, and made us feel like family from the start. We were greeted on our first night with a lovely meal and a few of their friends. Charley, Basil, and Jessie were such great dogs, with such different personalities, but all big lovers! We enjoyed walking them on a daily basis, playing with them in the yard, or just hanging out watching a movie. The cats were very friendly. We enjoyed the chickens and their eggs! The house was perfect, and Kate keeps a very well equipped and well stocked kitchen, we enjoyed cooking every meal and didn’t feel the need to eat out! The town and surroundings were so peaceful, green and just what we were looking for. So many things to do in the area, and David and Kate have wonderful high-speed WiFi. We thoroughly enjoyed the weekly marche in Felletin. We will miss the pets terribly, but are so thankful for the opportunity. Hoping our paths cross again.
Pablo and Ozzy were great companions to take out walking and provided loads of entertainment. Ngala and Tyrion were lovable but did their cat thing. Kate communicated well before the sit and there were no surprises. If I had questions, she responded quickly. Their house is lovely and I did want for anything.
This was so much fun! If you have the opportunity to do this sit, Take it! It was our first time taking care of goats, chickens, roosters, bunnies and spiders and we loved it. The goats are super sweet and playful. Their guardian, Honey, is a big fluffy love bug. Elise and Rocky want all the attention you can give them and they love to be with you wherever you are. Jennifer and Brian could not have been more gracious and kind. They have a beautiful home where we sat on the back deck and watched sunsets over the water. Jennifer walked me through all the chores ahead of time and I had a printed copy I could refer back to as needed. I was somewhat nervous taking care of farm animals, but she definitely put my mind at ease and it really was a great experience. The only problem was our sit was not long enough.
