Theresa was one of the best sitter that I’ve ever had! She booked a hotel prior to my dates just to make sure we can meet before my departure as it was important to me. She is a lovely person, we had a nice chat and I showed her everything in the apartment. She even was okay to pay my internet bill. I almost missed my flight back to Roma, she was flexible to offer to stay with Gigi until we make sure I can make it back home. She has sent me daily updates, videos about the apartment and about Gigi, in a way how I expected it and not so many sitter did it before according to my expectations. All in all, everything was great and she left the apartment in perfect conditions! Ps. She even bought two lovely toys for Gigi, that she loves a lot😍thank you so much for that! I would welcome her anytime again!🤗
From all indications, Kerry provided great care for our cat Buddy. She left our home tidy. She kept our patio plants thriving. She was self-sufficient, in that she did not seek guidance on day-to-day activities. From her frequent text reports and pictures, Kerry took her pet care responsibilities very seriously. She and Buddy bonded and during the month we were gone he seemed to become attached to her. When we returned, we found the house neat and organized, demonstrating that Kerry had put in time and effort to prepare the place for our arrival. We do have some concerns, which we communicated to Kerry directly. We have considered her responses before preparing this review and provided additional suggestions privately to Kerry. Our principal areas of concern involve electricity use and food. The thermostat had been completely reprogrammed (despite our stating that we left the temperature constant due to the presence of a heat pump), and electricity usage during the sit period was nearly five times the normal amount. Also, upon our return, we were surprised to find that many of the non-perishable foods that we had left here were gone, including back-up freezer supplies and imported chocolate. Although none of those items were replaced, we did find a variety of foods that we have no use for like frozen shrimp and oyster sauce. Perhaps we were lulled into complacency based on our experiences with the three previous sitters who homesat for us through zeewoi. We did not leave written instructions concerning food use or HVAC operations, relying instead on zeewoi policy guidance for sitters. We received no communications from the sitter about programming the thermostat (with an overnight temp of 62 degrees), using food, or leaving so much unwanted food. We had expected advance communications about their concerns, needs and plans. We believe that Kerry sincerely wants to do a good job, not only for the pets that she cares for but also in the role of a responsible housesitter. Homeowners may want to consider how to increase the likelihood that future sits will be successful for both parties. On our part, we will identify areas we can improve upon as homeowners, and if necessary revise our materials (Welcome Guide, plus notes and instructions we leave at the house) to restate our joint commitments and clarify expectations.
