We really enjoyed our stay sitting for Carol's cat Juno. Juno is easy to care for although, as Carol had mentioned, she was a little reluctant to eat on the first day of our visit. She loves to be warm and to be stroked and rewards you with wonderful purrs. It was very hard to leave her behind. Although this stay was arranged at quite short notice, Carol ensured that we were very well briefed, made us very welcome and was available to answer any questions during our stay. Carol told us to expect a small house but she did not prepare us for how comfortably and interestingly it is furnished - we felt very cosy. It was great to be in such a central location in Shoreham affording regular walks to the beach and far too frequent trips to the patisserie. At Carol suggestion, we also walked along the coast to the Perch at Lancing and can thoroughly recommend both their meat and non-meat breakfasts. Thank you to Carol for giving us this opportunity and ensuring we had a lovely time.
Kirsty was a lovely person very caring and very helpful. I miss Apricot a very friendly cat that adored being combed he usually stays out a few hours maximum and is very clean always meows if he wants to go outside. Kirsts place is in a lovely part of the Island with shops supermarkets cafes only 15 minutes walk away and Bus stops 10 minutes walk and very frequent. I would highly recommend other people sitting for Kirsty they will have no problems and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere.
A wonderful house sit. Communication with Ruth and Steve was excellent from beginning to end and they were extremely kind and accommodating, making us feel welcome and at ease in their lovely home. The house is listed and it’s layout quirky. It is clean and comfortable and has magnificent views. We stayed cozy and warm with the wood burner (and central heating) during Decembers sub zero temperatures. Billy and Jazzy are very sweet, happy and adorable. They are well behaved on and off the lead with great recall. At home they are content and love to cuddle up and be made a fuss of. Very easy and delightful to care for as were the friendly hens and the fish. Shaftesbury is full of character and has the famous Gold Hill. Billy and Jazzy like a short walk a couple of times a day which passes through the edge of the town, in front of the abbey grounds to Castle Hill both with amazing views, as well as the ‘Pine Walk’ with its lovely tall trees. If you are thinking of doing this house sit you will love it. Ruth and Steve, Billy and Jazzy, the house, the location, everything about this house sit is wonderful and we would love to go back again.
This was such an amazing experience! Steve and Laura have a lovely home and fantastic animals. Our family found this sit extremely therapeutic. They were such a blessing to us and were incredibly kind and understanding. Communication was perfect and while the responsibilities seemed a bit challenging on paper, they were a real breeze. We HIGHLY recommend this sit!
