This sit is right up there as one of our absolute favourites. The combination of pet parents, location, accommodation, use of car and .....best of all..... Charley, made for a great 2 weeks. Christine and David were so welcoming, the village is quaint and quintessentially English and the cottage is a charming mix of traditional with all modern amenities and a lovely back garden. Charley is an interesting personality, he's quirky and funny, knows his own mind, is very calm around other dogs and humans and he welcomed us with open paws. We very much responded to his needs, rather than imposing ourselves on him. He adores walking on the nearby beaches and heaths, where he shows his delight by rolling on his back in ecstasy, which had us in fits of laughter. Thank you, Christine, David and, of course, lovely Charley.
Ruby was such a joy to look after. She is such an easygoing dog and I literally took her everywhere with me. She was my friend at cafes, on walks, on car trips. You could not ask for a more perfect companion. She was also super chilled when we were at home, and would sit next to me as I worked on my laptop. House is centrally located with nice cafes within walking distance and only a 5 min drive into the centre of Byron. I was made to feel very comfortable upon my arrival and would definitely recommend this sit.
Stephen and I have been housesitting since August 2021, accumulating nearly 50 housesitting experiences. In January 2024, we decided to take a break from our housesitting lifestyle. We were so lucky to conclude this chapter with an extraordinary housesit with Theo in Fort Collins. Upon our initial meeting with Chris and Michelle, we were warmly embraced, almost as if we had been lifelong friends. It was evident from the start that this housesit would not only be enjoyable but also the beginning of a meaningful friendship. Michelle treated us to a delightful dinner, while Chris provided a comprehensive tour of their home (details coming up). We quickly got acquainted with Theo, a relaxed and easygoing young pup who preferred skipping formalities and jumping straight into playtime. We were fortunate to spend Christmas and New Year's at Chris and Michelle's picturesque home overlooking the mountains. The view of sunrises from the kitchen table and sunsets over the mountains will be missed. We felt completely at ease, enjoying a peaceful Christmas with our son, Ethan, engaging in games of pool and darts. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and the pillows were outstanding, although sadly they have been discontinued. If you're seeking the best sleep of your life, you'll need to say yes to this housesit. We spent most of our days working, and the high-speed and reliable wifi was a major plus. The well-equipped kitchen would earn Gordon Ramsay's approval, making us ecstatic to prepare all our meals. As their home is situated in the countryside, having a car is essential. The night sky there is simply enchanting. Taking Theo out at night was a special experience—stargazing under clear skies with nothing but the soothing sound of silence. We already miss it. Theo was a perfect gentleman. He slept with us every night and was our constant companion. He made it clear when he needed to go out, coming to us like clockwork at 8:30 or 8:45. He was an excellent eater, never barked, and cherished being close to us. We can't say enough about Chris and Michelle. We enjoyed following their posts about their trip to California and are excited to have the opportunity to become close friends as we'll be local for a while. A heartfelt thank you to Chris, Michelle, and Theo for helping us conclude our full-time housesitting adventure in 2024 with one of the most memorable housesits we've ever had. If you're in search of a tranquil country retreat with a sweet and affectionate dog, don't hesitate to apply. You won't be disappointed.
Petsitting Lilu and Moey was so delightful!! I loved watching them and got such a kick out of their way of asking for more food if they wanted a snack. They’re a bit shy initially but very sweet once they’ve gotten comfortable with you. Abby’s apartment is also so cute and comfortable, it’s perfect for anyone that’s looking for a great Brooklyn stay. Abby is also wonderfully communicative and kind- highly recommend this pet sit! :)
We have just returned from a fantastic week as sitters at Alison and Michaels wonderful home. Our charge was the loveable and lively Percy, a 2yr old black Lab. We received a warm and informative welcome with an excellent sitters Welcome Pack with all the house, pet and locality details we needed for our stay. It is difficult to describe fully what a wonderful home A & M have with every modern and immaculate convenience. From the most marvellous position in Kingswear you have incredible views across the River Dart to Dartmouth, you could never tire of this view. Plenty of excellent walks and good access to other S Devon locations are available. This really was a dream and hugely enjoyable sit and somewhere we would love to be invited back to. Thank you Alison, Michael and of course wonderful Percy.
What a fantastic sit! Sal is an absolute love - miss him already. Katie was wonderful - gave us suggestions for what to do in the area and was so supportive. Her place is so convenient to so many sites. What a great experience. Both. Katie and Sal are 5 thumbs up!
