This short day of sitter served a lot to be able to organize ourselves better, and have all the necessary information, before they leave home. A nice opportunity that Kate offered us to be able to arrive earlier, meet the beautiful Monti 🐱, meet them, and learn the details of the house.
My first sit with TrustedHousesitters, and what a winner! This may have spoiled me for future sits. Michela and Justin were fantastic and generous hosts. Really appreciated being invited to enjoy a home cooked plate of risotto and getting to know the family a bit before Rhubarb, Crumble and I spent the winter holidays together. I felt warmly welcomed and at ease with them immediately. Had the penthouse guest room to myself (minus the morning I found Crumble curled up beside me and Rhubarb perched across the room, playing the roll of alarm clock). ;P Cats crack me up. This home is beautiful, bright, well designed, warm - key in snowy December! - and everything worked nicely. I especially enjoyed sitting in front of the log burner with a kitty on my lap, watching the snow fall. Rhubarb and Crumble were comfortable and clever companions, and I delighted in finding them curled together yin-yang in chairs and baskets. Caretaking tasks were simple and straightforward, and the automatic feeder and water set-ups made it possible for me to take a night away with family friends. Michela and Justin were supportive of that, which was quite generous as I was in their home to take care of the kitties! Communication with Michela and Justin was easy and comfortable, and they were quick to respond to messages. They even managed to empty an entire drawer in the kitchen, and 2 shelves in the fridge for me, an impressive feat when also preparing for a family trip and the holidays! 10/10 would recommend, and would be thrilled to hang with R&C in Oslo again. You'll love this sit, and these kitty sisters.
Elodie and Yumi have a wonderful apartment in a beautiful and quiet tucked away part of Ho Chi Minh. It was a short house and pet sit, but Elodie provided clear instructions and advice in the welcome guide, and was easily contactable with any other queries. Yumi is a very glamorous and beautiful cat, who is happy doing his own thing for the most part, and will let you know when he wants something. I would definitely recommend others to apply for future sits.
Loved my time with Mia, she is a fun playful cat, she is not cuddly at first, but after a day or two, she would sit next to me and enjoyed a bit of cuddle times on the couch. Natalie is very lovely, we only met at the end of the sitting and got to have great talks. The communication all the way through before and during the sitting was great, she arranged for her partner to pick me at the station, which was very nice to help me with the suitcase. The home is very nice, in a secured building, and is nicely girly decorated, which I loved it! The neighbourhood is gorgeous, beautiful walks around with lots of trees and and the river, and just 10-15 minutes walk to big supermarkets like Sainsbury’s and Waitrose. I always felt very safe at the apartment or while walking around the neighbourhood. More than happy to take care of Mia again whenever Natalie needs to travel again! Thank you for choosing me! :)
