Liz is such a busy, involved lady; I had such fun with her. Her lovely dogs are the same. Dana has the most amazing eyes and she uses them and a wide range of facial expressions to draw you in so she gets what she wants. We had staring contests from time to time; she usually won. I could never say no to that face. Fergus was a bit reserved initially, but he did warm up to me, on his own terms. The first night I was there the dogs went to sleep in their mum's room as usual but sometime during the night they came and crawled into bed with me. After that they always slept with me. The kiddos were quite good on walks and never ran out of energy! They are so entertaining and just plain funny. Liz is a great host. I am so glad that she has already asked me to return to sit for my new best friends, Dana and Fergus!
We had such a wonderful time watching Annie! She has an easy care routine, just needing food and water, a good walk in the morning, some shorter bathroom breaks later in the day, and occasional brushing. She's very well behaved, and got along easily with our dog who came along with us. Susan and Mick were wonderful hosts and were easy to communicate with before and during the sit. We enjoyed eating tomatoes from the backyard garden, taking the dogs for walks on the little trail system that winds through Cowichan Bay, visiting the delicious bakery in town, and exploring the wonderful hiking opportunities in the area. Even three weeks wasn't nearly enough to see everything on offer in this part of Vancouver Island. Wonderful dog, people, and town -- this is a great sit and we'd be happy to return anytime!
Caragh required sitters at very short notice & Jerry & I were happy to oblige. This sit was particularly fortunate for us as we were cancelled also at short notice by another couple due to their ill health. Crumble Betsy & Bozo we’re a friendly easy to care for trio. Caragh’s home is beautiful warm & very comfortable especially the bed. The grounds are stunning & provide lots of space in which to walk the dogs. In addition there are some lovely paths & bridleways which we explored also. It was a pleasure to step in at the last minute and would be more than happy to sit for them all again.
Lilly and Blake were extremely welcoming, kind, and have great communication. They have a beautiful home with an incredible view about 25 minutes from Wānaka. They left clear instructions on how to care for the pups, which are super low maintenance! There’s a large fenced yard the dogs can run around at their leisure. Willow, Laszlo, and Poppy are so much fun! Willow is a herding dog and I thoroughly enjoyed watching her keep the other 2 in line while we were playing outside. She tends to stick to herself, but asks for pets and cuddles in the evenings. She even slept on me twice, which made me feel super special! Princess Laszlo is such a snuggle bug! He’s super affectionate and needs a quick brushing to remove the bindiis after a day rolling around in the yard. He loves tug of war and snuggling up to you at night or for an afternoon nap. Poppy is very sweet and playful. She will be glued to your hip and is ready for a game of fetch with her turtle at all times. She isn’t shy to let you know when she is ready for you to throw her toy or when she thinks Laszlo is hogging the toy (for 30 seconds) and it’s her turn to play. I really enjoyed my time with the pups and would highly recommend this sit to anyone!
Chini is the loveliest cat she was shy at first but as she got used to us she became super friendly, she loves to play and sleep haha :D. The communication with Christos was great from the beginning, he left very clear instructions and his house was very comfortable and very well located. Thank you for everything, Christos!
We really enjoyed house sitting for Fyonna and Paul. They gave clear instructions and spent some time with us on arrival to show us around. Scribbles and Wisper are both lovely and we loved looking after them. Wisper is a gentle and easy-going horse and we had no problems while looking after him. Scribbles is a very happy dog who is always up for a walk. We enjoyed exploring the local area while taking her on some of the many beautiful walks near by. We've never met a dog who loves a car ride quite as much as Scribbles! The house was clean and tidy with a large garden and we felt right at home during our stay.

Best pet resort in town. They have regular boarding or you can add day care for a nominal fee. We have used this location for years and we've tried other spots around town but have found that Liberty Pet Resort and Wellness takes care of our dog best when we are away on a trip. Prices are reasonable and location is great. 5 stars and two thumbs up!
I was so impressed with the care of my dog at Liberty Pet Resort! From making sure he was all set upon arrival to smiles during pick up, the service was exceptional. I loved the daily pictures, attention to details, and genuine concern for my dog. I would highly recommend them to anyone!
I take Magnolia here for doggy daycare because she just loves being here so much!! The staff is so friendly and everyone loves her. They even sent me pictures of her with her friend that she plays with. It helps me with keeping her social and whenever I come pick her up she always is happy to see me but tries to run back in the back with them because she doesn’t want to leave! They also gave her a bath and she still smells so good. I recommend coming here especially if you have a new pup (Magnolia is 4 months) and we all know how much energy puppies have!!!
I had asked them to cut her nails and do anal gland cleaning. They did neither when they said they did. I had called to let them know that they didn’t and I wanted a refund. Never got a return phone call back. I would have gone back to them many times, but now they just lost a customer. I had to do a chargeback. Just beware that they don’t do everything that they say they will do. All this happened when I was boarding my dog and they had plenty of time to do those simple tasks. I just had to bring my dog to petsmart to get these things done and girl told me that her nails weren’t cut in a long time and her anal glands were full.
I have been taking my dog 4 to 5 times a week for almost a year now. they always take such good care of him when I am at work. he is shy but loves the people here. every time I pick him up he tries to go back and get more petting time in. he is 16.5 yo and I am very picky about what I do with my dog. so he is very spoiled. I tried other dog day cares before here and none of them were up to my high standards, but Liberty Pet Resort always exceeds them. thank you for taking such good care of my precious boy.
The new owners have made a big difference. My dog gets so excited to go to doggy daycare! She goes 5-6 days a week and has so much fun playing with the other pets and staff. She literally runs to the door when we pull up and she’s exhausted when she gets home.
Liberty Pet Resort and Wellness Center offers exceptional grooming services! My pet not only looked fabulous but also seemed relaxed and content after their grooming session. The attention to detail and the caring approach of the groomers truly set this place apart. A fantastic experience overall!
My puppy seems to enjoy it after picking her up. She was really nervous the 1st few times because of hearing the other dogs barking and a different and unfamiliar environment. The staff is friendly and they will send photos of your pup playing with others.
Zeus loves going here. One big thing for me was, if you book a package stay for boarding, day care is included and most places make you pay extra for that. So far, this is now my new boarding place. Staff is friendly and they also offer grooming and vet services. I may be switching all my services over.
I brought my Kona bear here for a 7-day boarding back in June and after that I put her in the daycare a few times. She absolutely LOVED it. She loved the people that worked there and was always happy when we walked in. Liberty sent me pictures every time she was in daycare and that helped my mom anxiety a lot! She was never injured, which seems to be super common at many places in the area. I can't say more great things about Liberty. We unfortunately had to send Kona to live with a family member because it wasn't working out with her and our daughter. But we will definitely be returning when we get a new dog! Thank yall so much for what you do and your kindness and patience with the animals. It is so hard to find these days!
