Ben and Caroline's cabin home in charming New Harmony was an absolutely lovely place to be. It was a comfortable and unique space, with a labyrinth carved into the backyard. I was looking for a quiet stay with nature and art—and that is exactly what I found. Sage and George were fantastic company, and I hope to see them again someday! Ben and Caroline are genuine, quality humans, and any housesitter would be fortunate to meet them. At the risk of building competition with fellow housesitters, I would absolutely recommend that you pursue this sit if it is available! :)
I loved this sit. It was easy and relaxed. Biscuit and Miss Pugwash are adorable labradors and got along beautifully with my own spaniel who joined me on this sit. If you want to go for a walk Biscuit and Miss P are up for it, if you want to play games they are up for it, if you want to sit and read a book they'll settle and keep you company. If you are eating you will need to resist their stares, they are laobradors after all! Don't leave food on the counters or leave the pantry door open either!! We spent our time at the house in the lovely big kitchen/ dinner/living room. This room is south facing and looks out over a delightful garden and fields beyond. It's warm and sunny with underfloor heating. This room is dog friendly and set up for being able to enjoy time with the dogs. We walked on Harting Down, in the nearby Stansted Forest, at Asdean (which has a really good butchers/farm shop) and around Bosham (on the coast). We ate one night in the Victoria Inn which is a few minutes drive away or a 15 minute walk. Biscuit was recovering from an operation during our stay and was an easy patient. Miss P is an overgrown pup. My dog found her irresistible as a playmate. Highly recommend this sit.
What a beautiful location, simply a treasure. All instructions were clear and to the point. Jack and Woody , the adorable kitties , so sweet and lovey. I had a wonderful stay and all the amenities were great.
Ian and Yvonne were a delightful couple who made us feel very welcome in their home. Moonie was an adorable cat who thoroughly enjoyed being stroked and purred loudly whilst being brushed. She was very independent with her own access in and out of the house and was very low maintenance. The house is warm, clean and cosy with numerous places to sit (including 2 sun rooms). If you are a birdwatcher, this is a must as the numerous trees in the garden attract a wide variety to observe. We would happily house sit again for this delightful couple.
Both Trip and Emmy are so well behaved and the perfect companions for a digital nomad! I really enjoyed my conversations with Elaine and hearing about her work with singer-songwriters and the festivals she's attended over the years. If you're looking for a relaxing, quiet home where you can watch deer throughout the day then you will enjoy staying here!
Becky and Tommy are exceptional pet owners and people! We had the pleasure of pet-sitting their adorable dogs, Molly, Mike, and Timothy, and it was truly a delightful experience. We also had the chance to spend some time with Becky and Tommy and became friends. Their instructions were clear and helpful, making it easy for us to provide the best care for their dogs. Molly, Mike, and Timothy are such lovable and well-behaved dogs, and we cherished every moment spent with them. We genuinely appreciate the trust they placed in us.
