Lisa and Scott were so kind and thoughtful from the moment they welcomed us into their beautiful home. They had a lovely welcome basket waiting for us and we really enjoyed getting to know them over dinner. Lisa took the time to go over everything we needed to know and left very detailed instructions for Scooter’s medications so we felt completely comfortable. Scooter and Lucy are just the absolute sweetest dogs, and we missed being with them by the time we got home. Their home is incredibly spacious, comfortable, and in such a gorgeous, quiet neighborhood. Downtown Saline is so charming and we really enjoyed the restaurants and shops. We would love to see them again when we’re back in Michigan!

Our stay was a small slice of English summer heaven. Lisa and David gave us a wonderful welcome and handover and the dogs were a joy - 5 star dogs - We were extremely comfortable and had a lovely time tending to the garden even getting a go on the ride on mower to keep the grass trim. We would come back in a heart beat and would recommend this as a wonderful sit :)

We very much enjoyed our sit at the Old Rectory from start to finish.

On arrival Jules had made us a lovely evening meal and it was nice to get to meet our hosts directly (also for our dogs to mingle with Tokaji, Olive and Beryl).

The house is fantastic and we found comfortable beds and bathroom plus a lovely kitchen and dining area. Our favourite part of the house was the sun room though, which was a lovely place to chill with the dogs and listen to music / read/ watch TV. Though the weather was changeable we were lucky enough to spend two afternoons by the pool in the back garden – this was wonderfully heated and clean. We also made the most of a lovely outdoor eating area with water feature. Four chickens kept in a hassle free coup at the bottom of a garden provided us with 2 eggs per day which were so much better than the supermarket equivalents.

We made several visits to Market Harborough and also many lovely walks in the area - notably a figure of 8 walk around Harlestone Firs and Upper Harlestone with the Fox and Hounds pub in the middle. Walks around Sywell Reservoir, Foxton Locks and Lamport/Hanging Houghton also worth a mention along with the Midshires Way which passes through the bottom of the farm.

Without doubt though the stars of the show were the three dogs – Olive, Beryl and Tokaji. Olive and Beryl were very sweet and easy to care for; Beryl had a sore paw for a few days but was happy to soldier on with a bandaged foot (and if it all got too much she really enjoyed riding in the back of our rucksack !). They also adored evening snuggles in the sun room. Tokaji was the youngest of the dogs but so well behaved with great recall and sense of fun; she took years off our 9 year old Sheltie who loved bouncing round fields and chasing round the garden with her.

In summary a fantastic house sit; I hope we get the opportunity of a reunion with Olive, Beryl and Tokaji and the chance to enjoy the Old Rectory again. Many thanks to Jules and William for making our stay so enjoyable and relaxed.

I adored my time looking after Peanut and staying in Michelle’s lovely flat. Michelle was super kind and helpful, with very clear instructions on how to care for Peanut. She left the house extremely clean for me with lots of amenities for my stay! Would definitely recommend and would love to come back again.

It was a delight sitting Toby and Mason for Franci and Robert. Both pups have great personalities, and are well behaved and friendly. They enjoy the backyard and taking walks in the neighborhood. Franci and Robert are very kind and gave very thorough instructions. The guest suite is very nice with a comfortable bed,TV and lots of storage. There are quite a few nature activities within 30 minutes of their home as well as shopping and dining. I highly recommend this sit and look forward to my return in August.
