Carol & Nick are very easy to communicate with and made me very welcome. House-sitting at the farmhouse with lovely Mole and two easy-to-care-for alpacas was an absolute joy. Mole with such a beautiful calm nature was not only friendly but also an excellent companion, always up for long walks in the countryside. Loves carrots as a treat! The alpacas were low-maintenance and adorable, adding a unique charm to the property. The peaceful rural setting, surrounded by nature, was a serene escape from city life. Taking care of this beautiful home and its delightful animal residents was a truly memorable experience, and I'd gladly do it again in a heartbeat. Highly recommend!
We had a great time staying at Lynis' house in Sheepscombe for a fortnight. The house is gorgeous, very stylish and a lovely mix of old cottage and modern extension, in a beautiful Cotswold village close to the village pub, rated as one of the best pubs in the Cotswolds. There are loads of walks around the woods and hills that are right on the doorstep. Teddy is a very friendly cat who loves affection, sleeping or both at the same time! Daphne is more hesitant and nervous, but after a day or so warmed to us, and would happily sit with us, and would follow us around the garden. The communication with Lynis was great, we had what we needed before and during the sit. Lynis has a useful folder full of information for sitters. We loved our fortnight in the house, and would happily spend more time there in the future!
Alex and Stuart have an amazing home in a great location, with stunning views across the valley. They were so welcoming when I arrived and happy to answer any questions. Alex kindly took me on a walk with Tiggy and Moose, which gave me a great insight into their characters. Both are lovely dogs and love being around people. They’re fantastic off the lead and have an excellent recall even when they go scurrying off. They’re great in the car and that gave the opportunity to explore some of the lovely surrounding areas whilst caring for these lovely Spaniels. I think the best part was the number of walks directly from the doorstep. Open fields, woods, parks and the canal/river gave a varied array of routes for both walker and dogs. Would love to visit and sit again.
I stayed at Rijk's & Charlotte's place for about a week to take care of their cat Sam. Sam is very adorable and affectionate, and he loves cuddles and follows you around throughout the apartment. Their apartment is very cozy place and located convienently in a quiet residential area close to the central station, grocery stores and Utrechts city center. Since Utrecht is a very bike-friendly city, I was very thankful to use Charlotte during the sit. Communication with Rijk was very good at all times. All information was provided before the sit and during the personal handover. Thank you Rijk & Charlotte for this wonderful experience!
This was my very first Trusted Housesitters experience and I am over the moon with how well everything went. First of all, Dawson is an adorable, sweet, lovable canine! We hit it off splendidly. As I write this I find myself missing him. Then his human, Julia provided the best care suggestions and don't get me started on her beautiful home...wow...I felt as if I'd landed in an Elle Decor photo shoot! I especially happy I was able to meet Dawson's mommie in person. Thank you Julia for trusting me with Dawson & for your generosity with your comfortable and charming home. The whole weekend was exceptionally relaxing and fun. Sorry fellow pet sitters, but I'm staking a claim on this one!
Easy to care for easy to love! Little Bit and Captain have so much personality smushed into those two little bodies, and they were bundles of fun. Amy was a terrific communicator, and she and Jerri made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived. And I got about a thousand pics of those panoramic views—wow! I was only here for a long weekend, but wouldn't hesitate to recommend to others.
