It was a delight to house sit for Janet in her cosy, traditional home. The 3 cats all have distinct personalities and were very easy to look after. We had never looked after donkeys before but they were so sweet and gentle. They love human company and just need to be fed twice a day and mucked out. We had 2 bedrooms to choose from and a separate bathroom plus a comfortable lounge and a well equipped kitchen. Communication with Janet was excellent before the sit and she gave us a fantastic welcome when we arrived the night before she left. The property is down a quiet road, but not isolated, and makes a great base for exploring the surrounding coast and countryside. We shall miss picking our own oranges to squeeze for breakfast on the flower-decked patio.
Andrew and I had the best time cat-sitting Eloise and Cole! We had an initial call with Dan and Sue which made us feel very comfortable and excited for the sitting arrangement. Dan and Sue were very friendly and told us some amazing stories about their travels, and they gave us great recommendations for local attractions. The night before they left for their trip, they let us spend the night, and we got to enjoy an afternoon together and we went out for dinner. We watched Eloise and Cole for 4 weeks, and Dan and Sue were responsive and communicative whenever they had service. :) They have a beautiful home and community, we felt comfortable and lucky to be there everyday. Eloise and Cole were probably the best cats we could’ve cared for - they’re both so talkative and expressive, we really got to know them and enjoyed their cuddles everyday. We had time to explore several amazing restaurants and local attractions, and their internet was great for our video call work meetings. We would highly recommend sitting for Dan and Sue, and we’d love to care for Eloise and Cole again; thank you so much!
We really enjoyed the sit in Kent with Tango. After she got to know us she was very relaxed, affectionate and easy to care for. Marta and Mike were lovely hosts and welcomed us into their home with quite stunning views of the valley. We would highly recommend.
We loved our time with Kai. He’s an adorable little kitty with lots of personality. He loves attention, playing and he’s a talker 😹 The apartment is nice and clean, and most importantly the location is great. It’s a couple blocks away from State street. Restaurants and coffee shops are within walking distance. We loved it. Drew and Anna are very communicative and they’re great hosts. They’re very welcoming and provided recommendations for the area. Definitely recommend this pet sit if you’re in Santa Barbara.
I had a great time staying at Nicole's family home and taking care of Siena. It's a nice neighborhood and Siena and I had so many good walks in the area. She's a very sweet dog and the home is very comfortable with a great kitchen for cooking. I would highly recommend staying here!
From the moment the sit was agreed, to after the sit ended, I felt micromanaged and manipulated. After the sit was agreed, I felt harassed with useless communication from the wife asking me for a list of groceries while still on another house sit, and the timing of my arrival, which had already been discussed and agreed. I can buy my own groceries. I requested a guide, which was detailed about the pets and their medication, but barely worthwhile information about the home and how to empty the cat litter box and dispose of it properly. After the sit, I was being harassed to provide a positive review. Their pets were great, but I do not recommend this sit to a female traveling alone. I would like to remind homeowners that pet sitters pay for this service as well. We are not a maid service or your employee. I am a professional with my own business who loves pets and traveling. The site has to benefit everyone for it to work.
