We were delighted to welcome Jenny and Geoff back to care for our furry friends this year. Once again we were able to enjoy our holiday with complete piece of mind that our three dogs were in very safe hands. Pre-sit communication was excellent, Jenny and Geoff arrived in plentiful of time for a quick refresher on our home and dogs and whilst we were away we had just the right amount of updates to reassure us. On our return home we were greeted by happy dogs and a clean house! Thank you so much once again Jenny and Geoff!
Dan + Ciara’s home is a direct reflection of them as people: lovely, so warm and inviting! We felt so welcomed from the moment we first met with them! The neighborhood is peaceful and quiet but has plenty of neighbors walking and ready to chat if they see you outside. It was great to be so close (less than 4 min) to 2 grocery stores (Harris Teeter and Trader Joes), drug stores, restaurants, etc and only 25 ish min from Uptown Charlotte and Plaza Midwood/NoDa areas! The guest room and furnishings were wonderful - bed was super comfy and we easily found the linen closet and cleaning supplies when we needed them. Communication with Dan and Ciara was simple and straightforward, we sent them daily pictures and/or videos and any pertinent updates and they kept us in the loop for any utility maintenance workers that might come by and answered any house questions we had. 10/10! Loughy takes his time and gets to know and trust you at HIS pace which was totally fine with us, we’re patient! His parents left around 12:30pm and by the next morning he gave us his belly to rub and was mostly ready to trust us! It did take a few days for him to settle into a routine with us which is to be expected, we let him go at his own pace to minimize any anxiety he might feel from his family leaving for the month. He’s a sweet boy who loves belly rubs, cuddling and searching for lizards and bugs outside. He likes to follow you around the house, especially when you’re cooking (he doesn't get under your feet) - he’s a great assistant! He has a favorite spot on one of the two super comfy sofas so he can commence neighborhood watch making sure everyone is behaving on HIS street! Hahaha! He does have some resource guarding behaviors and very little recall with people who aren't his parents. A few occasions we noticed this behavior where he growled and tried to bite us: -I tried to stop him from eating deer poop in the yard. -Multiple times when trying to put on his harness and/or leash in the first 2 weeks. -When trying to get him to move off of the couch where we had just gotten up from to grab water. -My partner had gotten a package and he took one of my packing supplies so Corey tried to get it back to throw it away. I’d say that even with using his favorite word “chicken” which just means any treat that’s around he would come 2, maybe 3 out of every 10 times we’d attempt to get him to come back. Shaking the treat bag helped sometimes! When he’s on a sniffing mission he’s singularly focused lol Daily routine was flexible and simple, Loughy goes with the flow as long as he’s fed in the morning and around dinner time. He lounges most of the day and has a silly little personality! Overall he is a very sweet boy, the resource guarding and lack of recall have to be our biggest (and only) negative takeaways about Loughy. We would absolutely come back to see our fluffy little “nephew” (what we call all of the pups we sit)! Big thanks to Dan + Ciara for welcoming us with open arms and trusting us with their fur baby!
These cats were so much fun! They had such strong personalities! Rufus is a super intelligent extroverted friendly cat who loves to snuggle. Beautiful ocelot looking softie. Moxie is such a clever kitty who enjoys time alone and takes a little while to warm up to you. When she does, she will meow at you to play with her and give her head scratches. Our favourite moment was when Moxie was dragging the cat toy into the room and meowing to get us to play with her!! Clever girl. Kristin and Bess are lovely lovely people. They left us excellent instructions and were great with answering any questions. We loved their place! So many interesting books to read. I'm sure we could've shared some amazing conversations. We had a great time cooking in the kitchen, watching movies, reading and chilling in their beautiful sunny garden. Bernal heights is an awesome place to be. Very safe and easy to get around the city, as well as Berkley and Oakland. It was so good to have cute shops, cafes and restaurants within walking distance, and also several nice walks. Thank you ❤️
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Forchheim with the fantastic Hans Otto and Sasha. Cats These cats rank among our favorites! As other sitters have mentioned, Hans Otto and Sasha have distinct personalities, but they get along most of the time. Hans Otto steals your heart with his big, owlish eyes, and Sasha does the same with her smile (yes!). They’re so wonderful because they’re affectionate, playful, but not clingy or overly needy. And we’re very impressed by Hans Otto’s brilliant tricks to get plenty of snacks. Hosts Darren and Karen are warm, considerate, and expert hosts. They bought us veggies, were very generous with their food, and gave us a tour of lovely Forchheim. When we had a potential health issue come up with Hans Otto, we were so impressed by their calm and thoughtful response. They arranged everything so we could go to the vet if necessary. A+! Home & Area Centuries-old beautiful house on a river in a breathtaking village? Yes, please. We couldn’t have asked for a better location. Rose would work while looking out at the river (best desk view ever). We enjoyed the deck and all their amenities as well. Very comfortable. Forchheim is wonderful because it feels like a village but has all the amenties of a town. We loved to take long walks along the Donau canal, the river, and the pond across the way. Darren and Karen also made their electric bikes available, but we ended up walking everywhere. Everything you could need is within walking distance, and train (and bus) connections are ample to other towns, including Nurnberg. The food is available, fresh, inexpensive, and delicious. Thank you so much Darren and Karen. We will miss you, Hans Otto, Sasha, and Forchheim!
It was lovely to meet Heidi and Mark, in a very nice villa -- and the animals were all so nice! It's a big troop, so there is always plenty to do to keep everyone fed and clean, but it's worth it, it gives time to spend with new friends. :)
Simon and Greer are the most generous and hospitable hosts with Simon serving up a delicious past dish for dinner on the first evening which allowed time to become acquainted with Ava and Monty.. I was so happy to be invited to spend time with these two beautiful Dobermanns. Ava being so bright and active and Monty being a constant companion and a great friend, two absolutely lovely dogs. A fantastic house with everything you could need in a quiet village in an idyllic setting, and a location that is hard to beat with walks close to home with spectacular views down the valley. A great pub just down the road where a brilliant evening was spent with Greer and Simon, and quite a few of their friends. Just a perfect sit with perfect Dobermanns and perfect people. Thank you both so much.
Isaura has great communication , from start to finish, she even picked us up at the train station ( as we travel without wheels). We had clear instructions and we fell in Love with Ossie and Mila, two different personalities but Really Cool cats!! We finally got the hang of the local bus, we took daily bus rides to and from the main town of Kobern- Gondorf, don’t miss out on this “ travel back in time “ piece of history!! Tug Dogs and owner Erin was one of the best finds in our first-time dog parent experience. We began with trainer Rebecca on some foundational training for our puppy, Bandon. These days we take him to Tug Dogs for doggy daycare 2 - 3 times per week, as well as for boarding. To say we have peace-of-mind when our dog is at Tug Dogs is an understatement! We know he is safe, having a total blast, and getting all of his high-energy needs met running, wrestling, and swimming with the other pups. Erin is incredibly knowledgeable and takes great care in grouping the right pups for play, and knows/helps reinforce everything we’re working on behavior-wise. She’s also great at posting regular updates and we love being able to see what he’s up to during the day! Our dog is incredibly friendly and well-socialized with other dogs and we know it is all because of the positive experiences he has with all his doggy friends at Tug Dogs. I think Erin with Tug Dogs is the 11th trainer that we contacted for help with our sweet but very sensitive 5 year-old dog. She is the only one who actually helped us make progress. She did this by teaching us how to recognize our dog’s emotions so that we can make sure to help him feel safe, which resulted in a significant decrease in his problematic behaviors. My dog is a much happier and more well-adjusted version of himself thanks to Erin guiding us on how to best support him. She has truly changed his life, and ours, and I could not be more grateful to her. I trust no one more than her when it comes to dog behavior.
This positive review has been due for a long time. Loba has been one of Erin and Tug Dogs team's clients since he was 7 months old. Debby, Loba’s big sister, joined us when she was 2 years old. We sent Loba to Tug Dogs for a 3-week board and train program 3 years ago, followed by twice-weekly daycare and boarding whenever we needed to be out of town. He has come such a long way, from being a timid, fear-aggressive dog to becoming dog-friendly and able to socialize with guests visiting our home under our guidance. We never thought these days could happen, but our dream came true with the tremendous help from Erin and the Tug Dogs team. They also offered customized new dog introduction lessons when we knew Loba desperately needed a companion. They helped us introduce Debby to our family and settle them into their new environment smoothly. Now, Loba and Debby are best friends forever, and I can’t imagine anything separating them. Finding Tug Dogs has absolutely been the best thing for my boy Joey and myself. Ongoing socialization is crucial for the well-being of most pups. Tug Dogs provides a safe setting for just that. I am not a fan of dog parks and feel comfortable leaving Theo with Erin for the day. He absolutely loves spending time with her and the playful four-legged friends. We love Tug Dogs!

A couple of years ago, my husband and I adopted a stray dog from the Placer SPCA. We knew nothing about this three year old boxer-mix; she had no name and no history. We knew she was adorable, very sweet and could walk on a leash and that was all. We didn’t know if she liked other dogs or children, so we needed an expert to decode our pups body language for us. We reached out to Erin at Tug Dogs hoping she could help us. After a one day observational visit at Tug Dogs, Erin knew just who our new girl was! We arrived to see our girl playing with other dogs (what a relief). She had tailored a plan just for us and our Roxy girl. Roxy now visits Tug Dogs regularly to spend quality time socializing in Erin’s playgroup so that positive reinforcement there, makes her a success every where we take her. The Trainers Course was so informative and covered so much. The format was easy to follow in that not only was there the lecture but instructional videos on every aspect of the training. The sections on behavioral and client coaching were so helpful. I have followed Erin and Tug dogs on social media for awhile, I am very impressed with her success and training methods. My pups, Alfonso and Oillie love staying at the Best Friends Pet Hotel! They are so quiet on the way home. Exhausted from fun! They love the staff. Constantly running around them even as we are trying to leave! Haha They are so happy. I have them groomed after each stay, they smell wonderful!! Pictures from different pickups!! Another stay! My big boy Bengal, Dezi had a great time here. The facility was very nice and clean too. He got his own two room suite! The staff made him feel safe and loved and he wasn’t stressed when I picked him up. This was his first time away from home and I wasn’t sure how it would go. He will be coming back to visit again.
I have used Best Friends since 2002. All of my dogs have done great and I had a dog with some “issues” and she was handled well. There were never any problems after their visit at the “spa” as we referred to it. My two small dogs just returned from their spa visit and Max was on medication and he did great and our Gracie was happy too. Highly recommend!! 🐾🐾

We brought our Golden, Lola, here for the first time for a full grooming experience. She is terrified of loud noises--the girl who met us at check-in was extremely gentle with our dog, calming, and got her to settle down. We knew immediately that Lola was in good hands. They brought Lola out looking better than she ever has at any other grooming appointment--complete with a fresh bandana and bow. We loved our experience here!
First time with Best Friends over the Christmas holiday. She was pretty excited to go with the staff and seemed great when we picked up. We had a long delay on our return train ride and the staff was very understanding. I felt very comfortable with her accommodations and would definitely use them again next time we travel.

Rose has been our go-to pet sitter for three years now. We have two large male house cats. Rose provides peace of mind while we are gone, in part because she posts us by text early each morning with a short report on that morning's visit and how the cats are. She also makes written notes on each visit and leaves them for us. She is careful and conscientious and very easy to work with. We have never had a problem with her service and recommend Always Available whole- heartedly.
Rose watched my two boxers for me. It was somewhat nerve wracking having a non family member watch my girls. But Rose is very professional and thorough. During the meet and greet my dogs seemed to settle fairly well with her presence too. She texts a picture and update every day. Would definitely use her again!
I recently used always available pet sitting for a long weekend away from my pet. Rose was fantastic. She was very thorough on what services I should expect & walked me through everything. I received photos of my kitty every day that I was gone & even came home to a very cute thank you card and notes from each day she visited with kitty. Excellent service. I recently had Rose watch my eight dogs (two large dogs and six small dogs) and my two cats. I was gone overnight and my pets are not used to this. However I am pleased to say that my pets have taken kindly to Rose and they were well taken care of when I was gone. Rose sent text pictures with each of her visits. Unfortunately she had to clean up after one of my dogs but the place was immaculate when I got home. I highly recommend rose for pet sitting and I plan on using her in the future.
We highly recommend Rose, Always Available Pet Sitting. Right from the beginning Rose was organized and business-like, taking note of the names of each pet, the amount of food, times of day to be fed, locations for food, treats, etc. Rose cared for our 4 dogs and cat for 9 days while we went on vacation. She did not hesitate to come an extra day when our flight was canceled last minute. Rose did a lot more than just feed our fur babies. She spent time playing with them as well as watching their behavior to make sure they got along and played together safely. (We have 3 large dogs and a small beagle.) She even called us to make sure we were comfortable with what she saw. She left notes from each day and also texted us notes and photos. It’s clear Rose loves animals and has experience with animal behavior. We felt so much more at ease on our vacation knowing Rose was watching our pets. We will be using Rose’s services again.
We have been using Debbie for over two years now when we go out of town and she is always incredible. The updates and photos she sends everyday keep us from worrying about our 3 cats and since Debbie is always so nice, the cats have grown used to her and don’t have to hide.
Can't say enough great things about Debbie! We have 2 dogs that she has boarded for us for >5 years now. They absolutely LOVE staying with Debbie and getting to hang out in her backyard and play with the other dogs. She treats them like family members. One of our dogs has 3 medications and Debbie has never had any issues making sure she gets her meds. We have referred a few people to Debbie and all have raved about her services. Our family literally plans our trips around whether Debbie is available to watch the dogs (and she usually is). We enjoy being out of town so much more knowing that the dogs are so well taken care of!
Finding Debbie has made my life so much simpler/better! I have last-minute business trips and having her available to take care of my very sensitive/anxious pup, has been amazing. She sends pictures & updates while I'm gone so that I don't have to worry! And...since she only takes smaller dogs, Daisy is getting socialized in a way that she doesn't while at home. Her yard is also beautiful for the dogs to enjoy...bonus!
I am so grateful that we found King‘s pet sitting . We’ve been taking Bogey there for three years and he loves it. We can go away feeling very comfortable that he is in a home environment where he’s cared for and loved. He gets excited as soon as we turn down Debbie’s street. Debbie keeps in touch with us, sending pictures regularly so we can travel knowing he’s as well cared for with Debbie and her family, as he is at home. She’s flexible and reliable. Debbie came into our lives when I was renovating a home in EDH and moving from Los Gatos. I had to board my little golden doodle with her for 8 months during that time. We had our dog over once during the day and one time over night to practice for a longer vacation stay. She was very friendly and had only a few small dogs over. The second time we wanted to pick up our dog a little earlier than planned but she wasn’t at home and asked us to come back 4 hours later. All the dogs ran to the front window as we waited there and nobody opened the door, which meant they were at home alone for most of the day at least. This broke our trust. Anything could have happened while the dogs all agitated around. She also forgot to return our treats that we gave her for our dog specifically, when I asked to pick them up the next day she didn’t know which one were ours. We will not book her again.
I feel very comfortable anytime we leave our pets entrusted with Debbie. Always punctual, spends time with our pets and appreciate the text/photos of our animals following each visit. Fantastic!
I am so thankful to Vickie at BOW -WOW PET SITTING!!! I am the kind of dog mom that puts my 2 boys Doug and Rusty (dachshunds) above myself. I set my house up so that THEY are happy and comfortable. I have a low bed,, doggie ramps everywhere and there are dog toys all over. I would say that they are a little spoiled ❤️🐾🐾❤️ I only trust a few people with my dogs. I recently moved to Fair Oaks. I searched online for pet sitting and called Vicky, the owner of Bow-Wow pet sitting and boarding. I asked many questions. I then looked at her reviews on Yelp and decided that I would give her a call back. She was able to take my dogs the next day. She was so great! My dogs were barking and have separation anxiety. I immediately felt comfortable with Vicky. She is very kind and obviously loves animals. Her house is set up perfectly - she can separate dogs if necessary but still see them, they are not locked away in a closed room. She had a big wonderful yard to play in. When I picked up my boys they were happy and not stressed. Now they WANT to go there! Even though I'm done moving I intend to to take them to Vicky's at least once a week because they love her and I don't take them in the car and leave them when running errands. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND VICKIE AND BOW -WOW PET SITTING!!! She is reasonably priced and very accommodating. ******************!!!!💕
I am appalled at the neglect and inhumane treatment of my dog. We left my dog Roxxy there for the weekend over 4th of July. We made sure they were aware she was a rescue dog with anxiety, and we were guaranteed that our dog would not be left alone during the fireworks. After we got our dog home, that night we realized her mouth was severally injured. Apparently, she had been left outside in a metal crate during fireworks while the owners of Bow Pow Pet sitting went to the liquor store, and tried to chew her way out causing the damage to her mouth. Multiple teeth had been broken off, her gums were destroyed and she had literally chewed so long and hard the bone of her jaw was damaged. We were never notified that our dog had been injured under their care, we had to wait to find out when we got her back, and with the extent of the injury being as bad as it was I have a hard time believing there were no signs of blood or injury when it happened. The surgery to fix my dog's mouth was over $3,500, which Bow Wow Pet sitting never even tried to repay. I felt the owners of Bow Wow pet sitting were unprofessional and down right negligent to have let this happen. To top it all off, after multiple complaints from us they still have pictures of my dog on their website, against my approval, to advertise their business. Usually I am not one to write angry online reviews but I feel strongly that they were negligent towards my dog.
My dogs were well taken care of in a family style environment. Both had individual needs and their needs were well taken care of. Was so pleased with the great care both dogs received! Recommend!

Took our Golden to the splash pad night. They had the nicest facility!! So much room for the dogs to run around in, very clean and no broken toys/furniture. My golden had so much fun and I will definitely be signing her up for a day care session.
Great place to take your dog for day care or swim fun. I've taken my bullmastiff to day care and open swim. She lived both and came home tired and happy. Bit expensive buy you're paying for good care of your dog. I really appreciate that they screen your pet and have separation of different temperaments. Open swim in wknds is great and pretty cheap at $10 per dog. I highly recommend and will be back often. They have boarding service too, but I've never used it.
We rented the pool with some dog park friends and had a blast. The staff are very friendly and the pool was ready to have our pack of dogs rage. Some seating provided, bring a towel for yourself and wear clothes you don't mind getting soaked because the dogs will shake all over you!

I took my dog, Huffy, to the Animal Den for their open swim. She had a blast! All the doggies loved the pool and I got to enjoy some wine while she played. It was a win all around! My only gripe is the admission fee is $10. The fee is reasonable but it does keep us from going as frequently as we would like!
My dog has been going here for daycare 4 days a week for the last year and is so happy and excited whenever we arrive. Previous places we went for daycare I could see him on camera just sitting by the gate wanting to leave, and he was never eager to walk through the door. I think the staff here have gotten to know him and what makes him happy to be there so he feels much more comfortable. They also do cute holiday activities and dogs of the week which are adorable extra touches. Overall it’s been a great experience!
Such nice and caring individuals! They can accommodate almost anything! Very patient and compassionate for not only the fur babies but the fur parents as well! As for my Meeko he is having the time of his life for his first time. He is literally smiling. Great decision to board him here. I would high recommend this place!
They have been taking care of my loved ones for nearly 40 years. I've never boarded my dogs anywhere else and hope I never have to. They give great care and love and my dogs have fun there. And I have peace of mind.
We adopted a sweet dog, Teddy, from a rescue. Teddy was very reactive on the lead. I knew that I needed a professional to help this sweet little dog become a well mannered companion. Cameron, one of the dog training professionals at Busters, helped Teddy (and me). We received excellent training and guidance. Now Teddy is very good on the lead when we go for walks. I will continue to have Cameron assist me in training Teddy. I recommend him. I hope to eventually have Teddy visit nursing homes as a therapy dog. We also use the day care and boarding facility at Busters. The staff are professional and kind. I highly recommend Busters.
I took my dog, Winston, in for a 6 week training course to get some extra help with leash / reactivity training and Cameron has helped transform Winston into a dog with much better manners! He taught me a lot about my relationship with my dog that will help us moving forward. I've also taken Winston here for grooming before and they always do such a great job making Winston look handsome!
Super happy with Buster's Pet Resort- all the staff is super friendly, and happy to see me, and always so thrilled to see Tucker. It speaks volumes to me when they greet him personally and say their good byes so sincerely when we leave. As a "former" rescue dog, he trusts few people, but since coming here, he has become so much more confident and socialized! Thank you for being you all Buster's team! As you can see- Tucker is tuckered out when he comes home!
I am a new pet parent and was scared to drop my little buddy off to anyone. My husband and I came across Buster’s and I am SO glad we did! Our little Nacho got go be outside and play with all the other dogs, he even got to try out the doggy pool! If you want to take your dog to a wonderful place where they care for your pets as well as you do, send them here! The staff is absolutely wonderful, we will be back!
We've had a great experience with Buster's. The staff is so friendly and provide such amazing care. In addition to boarding and grooming, we have used their Dog Training services and couldn't be happier. Colin is amazing to work with and has transformed our 3 year old Lab, Zoey, into a responsive and obedient companion. One training session with him and you'll be amazed at how knowledgeable and effective he is. We look forward to coming here for years to come.
I'm very impressed with Buster's Pet Resort. All the staff have been very nice and friendly. I cant begin to express how much my dog (Tucker) loves going here! At first Tucker was a little hesitant but now when he is being dropped off he runs for the entrance with his tail wagging. Someone is always at the door to greet us. And in the afternoon when Tucker gets picked up he is always exhausted from all the fun he has had all day playing with the other pups! I would highly recommend Colin and the staff at Buster's Pet resort!
Buster's helped me save a life. We adopted Suki from the SPCA, and boy was she a handful. We weren't sure if she would be the right fit for us. But after the daily daycare program and a 3 week board and train, she is such a good dog! Buster's fixed her food and toy aggression with our other dogs and made her not want to chase cars. They showed us how smart she is and taught her great listening skills and a ton of new tricks, and they trained us too! Suki gets depressed on Sundays when daycare is closed! Thank you for helping us appreciate what a great dog she is!
I absolutely LOVE Buster's Pet Resort and Daycare. The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. I just started personal training at Buster's last week, and I'm convinced these trainers are wizards after the magic they preformed....I have a 14 month old Blue Heeler/GS mix (Willow) and 8 month German Shepard (Luna). My 14 month is a TANK and very leash reactive (Pulling, barking and getting exciting with other dogs). Walking both dogs was Extremely difficult, so I had to start taking them separately. After, only ONE personal training session, I was able to walk both dogs together, with little to no reaction when we approached other dogs, even barking dogs. They are walking so well together and people have actually commented on how well behaved they are. I'm so excited to continue our training at Buster's.
Great reliable staff, fortunate to find this place. My dog is taking training lessons, has spent four nights boarding and playing there, and is doing much better, behavior wise. We also feel welcomed, and I also, am learning new things(as a dog owner), as well. I give 5 stars.
Colin was very authentic and basically responded to what we needed help with on a week to week basis. We learned a lot of skills for dealing with the bad behavior. I was not a fan of the prong collar but it's been a God sent 🙏. The dogs get so excited when we put the collars on them because they know they are going for a walk. My 76 yr old mom can walk the dogs now with out pulling. Colin is great and easy on the eyes. 😉
Cindy is taking care of our 2 cats now for quite some time now. They love her and she sends us pictures and short videos every day. She’s taking great care of the cats and our house too. She is very thoughtful and thorough and trustworthy.
Our kitty knew Cindy when they first met; don't know how, but it was comforting from a pet mom/dad point of view. Previous care was reliance on friends/neighbors/family. Trust of your home and your pet to a sitter was very important in selecting the right person. We have used Cindy many times and are so grateful to have her as trusted sitter.
We had a great first experience with Cindy watching our big goofball dogs. Cindy took notes at our meet and greet. Plus her forms ask all the important questions to make sure your pets get the best care. Pics and videos showed how much our boys enjoyed Cindy's visits! We've used Happy Tails several times for cat-care, typically twice-daily visits. Usually our sitter is Rachel, and she's fabulous with our pets. We love the daily updates and confident knowing that she is able to medicate our one feisty younger boy. Highly recommend!
Cheryl is wonderful with our dog Bentley. We get daily reports with pictures. We think he has more fun at her house than ours with all the other dogs he gets to play with. We love knowing he's in good hands and isn't stressed out at a kennel. And Jesse is lovely with our kitten. We come home and our kitten is happy, the litter boxes are clean, the mail has been brought in, and the plants have been watered. And we know someone has been keeping a daily eye on our home. Great peace of mind!
We’ve used this company’s service several times now. All the sitters have been super. We’ve had someone do checks on our kitten, play and feed her. Another time we had someone stay overnight with our puppy and kitten. And another time private boarded our puppy at a sitter’s home. Every time we came back to happy, well cared for pets. All the sitters were respectful and responsible. Great peace-of-mind. We will definitely continue to use them.
Happy Tails Pet Sitting and Tamara gave me peace of mind that my 3-month old puppy would be well taken care. He was fed, played with and loved. Soiled bedding thrown in the washer. I received photos of him playing and an update with each visit. No doubt Happy Tails will be called on in the future.......
This was my first time using Happy Tails. Lindsay was my live in pet/house sitter. My cat is very shy but took to Lindsay immediately. Lindsay sent me updates and photos while I was gone so I had total peace of mind. I also came home to a very clean house. I will definitely use them again!
I took my puppies over there for the first time and they loved it! Tamara was very sweet and caring with them. The place allows them to play, sleep and be around other dogs (socialize) in a safe manner. It's convenient, and it's affordable.
Amazing place!! The facility is great, in the heat of the summer to have an air conditioned space for chows is a must. Tamara was beyond helpful. This was the third place I tried as I was having surgery and, I NEVER board my dogs so it was getting stressful. I had to leave them for a day and I immediately knew I’d found the spot just because I was having trouble getting them into the yard (because of my hip) and one of them slipped out of his collar and got away. Tamaras husband jumped in without hesitation and helped me round him up. Most places I know aren’t even comfortable with having them so to see him react immediately without a hint of apprehension was reassuring. As it turned out, a friend came up to stay with me for recovery so they were able to stay home this time. I’ll be having to go in again next year so I’ll definitely be taking them back!!

Great people and very responsive. We had to head out of town on short notice, but they were flexible in finding us a good fit for our two pups for pet sitting. One of our labs can be a pain and the Happy Tails Petsitting crew was patient and understanding. Great experience with them!
I used to be a loyal customer and highly recommended them, but I unfortunately can no longer support them after having a deeper understanding of their protocols. Before getting into the worst of it, I'd like to point out that they have astro turf which unsurprisingly causes dogs' feet to get irritated on hot days. In their report cards, they will simply say they noticed they were getting irritated and treated them, but probably won't tell you why unless you ask. I started as a client with my husky Freya. Unfortunately she died in their care due to unknown causes. Their story was she was outside and started having irregular breathing, so they took her inside where she collapsed and died. She was 9 and had glaucoma, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt even though she was otherwise a healthy dog who had no problems going on 3-5mile runs with me when the weather wasn't too hot. Looking back, maybe I should have been more skeptical. When I got another husky mix, Loki, I started boarding him there and he loved it. However after a little over a year of boarding him there with no major issues other than being an overly enthusiastic husky puppy, he developed a food aggression issue while in their care. Freya had some food aggression issues when I first got her and I have taken care of multiple dogs with the problem before, so I am very well educated on prevention and training for it. When I asked about their feeding protocols, they stated that they simply drop the food in front of the dog, leave the room for an hour, and then come back in to take it away to get pressure washed whether there is food left or not. When Loki first demonstrated food aggression, their response was to attempt to remove the bowl with their foot or a fake prosthetic hand. This is textbook what not to do and will absolutely CAUSE AND INTESIFY food aggression. When I pointed this out and suggested that they should implement standard sit/stay feeding protocol, use redirection techniques, or to not try to take the food bowl away while the dog is still in the room, their response was essentially that they don't have time to do that and don't want to train their staff in standard dog handling practices. They even commented that past customers have suggested the same thing. This tells me that they are entirely aware that their protocols can cause food aggression and that they refuse to do anything about it. Apart from this incident, Loki seemed to love all the workers I saw him interact with. They all looked on the younger side, but they were extremely friendly and positive. I just wish the owners cared enough to train them better.
From my work account 3 years ago: I have a Husky mix who’s a handful, mindful but energetic. The staff have always been patient and loving towards Luna. I feel blessed to live close enough to use Local Bark. Last year I traveled almost 70% of the time for work. If it wasn’t for them I’m not sure how I would’ve gotten by… EDIT: I have since moved to Midtown Sacramento so I no longer go there but or Pomeranian gets groomed at their Power Inn location "Response from the owner 2 years ago Oh Luna! 🤗 She keeps us on our toes and we love that crazy girl so much! Amazing staff. Reasonable prices. All types of services from Daycare and Boarding, to Grooming, to Day Training, Boarding School, and Puppy Prep School. THEY EVEN HAVE A WALK-IN POOL MADE SPECIAL FOR THE DOGS!! Large & Small Dogs are welcome, as well as PITBULL FRIENDLY!!! You can tell the staff LOVE dogs, and genuinely care about what they do. Very trustworthy, welcoming, and easy to leave your pets with. The girls at the front desk and attentive and polite, and make things like checking-in your dog, or providing any information needed about the business easy. I highly recommend The Local Bark for all your Dog Care, Boarding, Grooming, Training, and occasional swimming needs!
Our dog has a great time at Local Bark... always comes home happy and tired. It's awesome that they have a pool that he can enjoy, one of the reasons I picked Local Bark in the first place. The facilities appear to be very clean and the staff are always nice. Oh, and they post pictures every day on their facebook page... so it's fun to see what your dog has been up to. Definitely recommend!
We love the Local Bark! Our dog has been coming here since she was a puppy ( she is now 9! ). We don’t use it as often as we did in the past as their prices have gone up, but when we need care for her overnight this is our go to place. They have different sized “rooms” for the dogs to stay, all day play time out back and offer grooming services as well. Our dog is happy here!
There is nothing that excites our yellow lab, Austin, more than going to the Local Bark. I usually take Austin to the Local Bark, but the first time my husband took him he passed the turn to go in to the Local Bark. Immediately Austin started barking and vocalizing. We are sure he was saying, "Dad, you missed it! You missed it! Turn around! Turn around now!! Austin just graduated from their 18 day in house training. Ivyonnne is a great trainer and Austin has made great strides in his obedience and self control. The Local Bark is an absolutely wonderful place for dogs. Austin gives it five paws up.
My puppy is very energetic and needs to socialize more with doggy friends. This was his first day at his evaluation. It made my day when I saw his picture, he looks happy and looks like he's smiling. He was happy and very tired when I picked him up because he must have played a lot. I will definitely take him on a regular basis.

Editing my review after picking up my dog.I'm so happy I found a good boarding facility! The local bark is definitely a five-star place. My big mush of a pitbull really enjoyed her 13 night stay here over Christmas!I love the pictures I got to see on Facebook of her enjoying herself. I picked her up and she was so happy and clean, they gave her a bath for me. She's practically dancing in the waiting room while we were leaving. I like that the local bark has the most rigorous vaccine requirements in the areabecause my dog came home very healthy so I appreciate it! Also not much more expensive than any place around it's affordable in my opinion and they provide trusting and safe care for your dogs. Highly recommended I will definitely use again!
Chloe has been going to the Local Bark since she was 16 weeks old. She loves all the attention she gets from the staff and has a blast with the other dogs during Play Care and Overnight visits. Love them.
We had a great experience with Bentley’s. Boarded my dog over Christmas holidays. The place seemed super clean, and my dog was in a great mood, and smelled great when I picked her up. I’ve boarded her in other places where she comes home smelling of urine, so it was a nice experience having her come home so happy and clean. The owner was also super accommodating and friendly.
We just had a pretty awful experience at Bentley's Ruff House. Our dog stayed there twice, but I can no longer recommend this place. The second day into our trip I received an upsetting phone call from the owner and video clip that was sent showing our dog in a corner with an employee and our dog acting aggressive toward her which we have never witnessed from him since he was a puppy until now 5 1/2 years later. I was pretty upset the rest of our short trip and wanted to pick up my dog a day early once we arrived back in town, but because it was outside of their pickup window of 7-9 am that day she absolutely refused. I asked her to reconsider and let her know I was willing to come at any convenient time for her that afternoon or evening, but she made me wait until the next day which was extremely difficult and emotional for me. The owner repeated to me several times over the phone during our two conversations that "this is not a home environment this is a boarding facility and is very stressful for dogs". The owner showed zero sympathy on our phone call and continued to use my first name while talking over me, and even had her employee listening in on the other line. I know this because she also started speaking over me during the conversation. I received the worst customer service ever from Bentley's. Thankfully, we were allowed to pick up our dog the next day first thing in the morning and he seems to be back to his old, sweet self. I am not one to write negative reviews, but I think others need to be aware of our experience.
We have been taking our dogs here for years. They are fantastic! My dogs always are happy to go & are clean when we pick them up. Sometimes our lab isn’t (but that’s her issues, not because they do not try). I know they have had some bad word of mouth, but please be open to the fact that there are always 3 sides to everything! Each individual parties experience and what actually happened! Please don’t try to shutdown a small business that provides excellent care for many of our fur babies!

They love our dogs and treat them like their own. Great for a one day or week long drop off with reasonable prices and fun accommodations. Great staff and owners who really care about all of the dogs.
This place advertises boarding for a flat $50 a day and they say it includes free play all day for your dog. They state they aren't like other boarders who charge extra to let the dog out of a crate. But as you read further down you discover they have added a $25 per day for "day care" so essentially its $25 to let your dog out of the crate. For two small dogs it would total $150 per day and I have to bring my own food. Plus, the drop of and pick up times are extremely and ridiculously limited. For the same weekend my room at the Holiday Inn is less! So its costing more for two crates than it is for a hotel room with free maid service! This place is set up for the comfort and convenience of the owners and not for customers. They have the audacity to charge these exorbitant amounts and then severely limit when you can drop off or pick up your dog. Unbelievable.
They are an amazing group of ladies here! Always so friendly and helpful! Ive been taking my boy Kingston here when I need to travel and they have always been the best! Kingston is always super excited when I take him there and when I pick him up! Its a fun doggy vacation for him. They always go above and beyond and give me peace of mind knowing my dog is loved and safe. I will never go anywhere else! 1000% recommend them! 6 stars if i could!
This place is much cheaper than its competitor on the other side of town. They are further from our house but it's worth it. They are a great family and take care of our dogs when we are gone for a few days. They always cater to their usual customers and let them know when they are getting really busy so that they can set dates. Their facility is very clean and they will even give the dogs a bath if they are there for longer than 2 days. Highly recommend.

Our dogs LOVE it here. We recently moved here and travel regularly so it has been a relief to find a great place to board our pups when we're gone. It is a family-run business and we know and genuinely like them all! They have also gotten us on schedule at a moment's notice not once but a few times. Highly recommend.
