This was a great stay! Nicole was super friendly and gave great instructions, and Hazel was one of the best dogs I’ve ever watched! She’s so sweet and easy-going.
We highly, highly recommend this sit!! We’re so glad we had the chance to meet Judy and Tim, two of the nicest and most generous people you could hope to meet, and watch over their cuties, Socks and Beau. The pooches are super affectionate and just a joy, and the house is beautifully kept and furnished - and only a short walk away from the beaches and restaurants of Portrush. In addition, Judy and Tim gave us tons of great info about the transit system and the nearby sightseeing opportunities in the area (including the Giants Causeway!) Thanks again for everything!
I am a retired Canadian, who applied for a pet/housesitting experience In New Jersey, USA. This was my first experience as a house sitter through TrustedHousesitters.com. I am happy to report that the experience could not have been more positive. I cannot say enough about my generous, kind and accommodating hosts, Michael and Cecile. First, they hosted me as a guest for three nights before they left on their trip in order that I could become familiar with their beautiful home and the routine of their two lovely dogs Bailey and McGee. They also introduced me to neighbors in case I needed assistance. All of this thoughtful preparation helped to make me feel more confident in the assignment. Michael and Cecile picked me up at the airport on my arrival, and then drove me back for departure.. They were very communicative and clear before, during and after the assignment about expectations, but also checked regularly about my comfort and to ensure that I was enjoying the experience. New Jersey was my first choice for a housesitting experience because I have a 10-year-old grandson who lives in New Jersey. To be able to combine a house/pet sitting experience with visiting with family, was ideal. When I mentioned this, Michael and Cecile, without hesitation, invited my grandson to visit and stay with me in their home while they were away. This made my stay even more perfect as my grandson and I were able to spend lots of quality time together while caring for and having fun with the dogs! Michael and Cecile’s home is extremely beautiful, organized beyond belief, yet inviting and comfortable. I enjoyed the chef’s kitchen immensely while making my grandson’s favourite meals. Two lovely bedrooms with water views were allocated to my grandson and I. We also had our own beautiful, recently renovated full bathroom. I would be remiss not to comment on the superb location- across the street from Raritan Bay with unimpeded views of the water from most rooms in the house. I woke often to the sun rising over the bay. Across the street from the house there is a long boardwalk along the water. We spent many happy hours on this boardwalk meeting lots of other dog walkers and their dogs in the very friendly neighborhood. Less than a block away is a yacht club and public peers where my grandson and I did some spring fishing! There are quality restaurants within a couple of blocks of their home and activities a short drive away like Top Golf and the Prudential Center in Newark where my grandson and I attended a NHL game. The dogs are sweet, gentle and obedient and enjoyed many moments of playfulness with my grandson and me. We fell in love from the get go with the slightly neurotic but extremely affectionate McGee (6-year-old Poodle) and the more independent but elderly Bailey (11-year-old Sheltie). The owners were surprised with how well the dogs handled the transition. I miss them both dearly! This experience was nothing short of amazing, especially since it translated into a friendship with Michael and Cecile. If the opportunity arises to return, I would accept without hesitation. It was not only a great housesitting/pet sitting opportunity, but a catalyst for a new and hopefully enduring friendship!
Really enjoyed my stay in Berlin! The flat is well situated, and with all the essentials one would need for a great stay in Berlin, at the same time, Samuel is really a joy. He is probably one of the funniest and most dog like cats I have met. Samuel will gladly help you cook, clean/lick the dishes, and then snuggle up to a good series afterwards :)
Nancy's house sit was a joy! She has a beautiful home in a great location east of Asheville, NC. It's an easy drive into the city or other more rural areas. It's close to shopping and any other conveniences. Her house is very comfortable, well appointed. Luna, her dog, is a great puppy. She is very lovable and fun.
Erin and Sam were such kind and welcoming people. They made sure that I had everything that I needed for my stay in their art-filled quirky home. Erin was very communicative and flexible, making sure that I had several points of contact with neighbors in case I needed anything and even came up with an alternative place for me to park when my massive campervan proved too large to fit on her tight driveway. She also had an excellent welcome guide that detailed all of the "quirks" that come with an older home. Frida was absolutely hilarious and fun to be around. She had so much energy that she was ready to play and eat with a 5am wake-up call. After a few days I was able to convince this spunky 1 year old kitten that 8am was a much more civilized time to eat and play. She loves to go in and out, but with their new cat doors installed, she was able to come and go as she pleased. She always made sure to come home multiple times a day and call out to find me in the house to say hello before heading back outside. Chip is a very busy fish with a beautiful tank. It got a bit clogged up and Erin reassured me that he'd be fine until her return, but thankfully we did a little troubleshooting and got the issue resolved. Norman was a breeze as he basically took care of himself. All I did was refill his water bowl occasionally through a screen at the top of his tank. There was quite a bit of unexpected activity on the property due to prolonged construction, neighbors, and friends/family needing things from the house which made the environment less quiet than anticipated, however, Erin was great about notifying me of the goings-on and respecting my needs as much as possible. Overall it was a lovely sit. Thanks Erin!
