This was an incredible dog and house sit! Laurie and Marty have a beautiful home in a walkable neighborhood close to everything you could need. Laska is the biggest, friendliest puppy and was so sweet to us during our stay. He’s the type of dog that you can’t help but love and always puts a smile on your face. We miss him already and would do this sit again in a heartbeat!
This was an exemplary sitting engagement – the pets were wonderful and the house was comfortable. Pickle is a bundle of energy and adorably affectionate, snuggling with us on the couch at every opportunity. Nobby is an older dog who was happy simply to be near us. Inky is a typical cat – independent but affectionate on his own terms. The chickens were easy to manage and rewarded us with at least one fresh egg each day. Walking the dogs was delightful, with a wealth of picturesque walking paths nearby. The dogs are both well-behaved, never wandering far when off their leads, and always coming back when called, and they rarely barked. Bridget and Crispian were charming hosts – they made us feel welcome right away and provided a delicious home-cooked meal when we arrived. We felt comfortable with them both, engaging in long, fascinating conversations that ranged over many topics. Their house is fully equipped with all modern conveniences, although the stove took a bit of getting used to. The neighbouring district is replete with medieval churches (which is our favorite thing) and the dogs enjoyed “church-crawling” with us. We would greatly welcome the opportunity to sit for Bridget and Crispian again.
