Fabulous sit! Niles was everything and more! The cutest thing ever and we feel so lucky to have met him. He is a needy little fellow but after a very short time we were the ones needing him :). He was irresistible, whether he was asking to play or cuddle, we just wanted to be with him. He did wake up really really early in the morning (around 5am) but during the day he slept a lot, and he liked to do so on our laps or chest if possible. Apart from sleeping and cuddling he was playing like a crazy dog and made us lough a lot. We also enjoyed our daily walks with him in the beautiful surroundings just outside the house. The house is amazing, it has everything you could need, beautiful views from the windows to the woods and the creek running in the backyard. It is so cozy and relaxing, which was perfect considering the fact that Niles mainly wanted to stay at home. It's located in a beautiful and peacefull area, surrounded by nature with paths for lovely walks as well as nice open fields to play and run with Niles. Gill and Tom are lovely people, they gave us all the information we needed, both for the house and Niles, making sure we feel comfortable. They were very kind and helpful with our transportation, as we don't have a car. Communication with them was easy and smooth, especially when we needed their help with an unexpected problem in the house. Lastly, Gill was so sweet to leave us some home made deliscious cookies for our stay. We already miss Niles and we hope to meet Gill, Tom and Niles again. We highly recommend this sit, it was a wonderfull experience. Thank you again for your trust with your home and Niles.
The location of the house and the interior, where the original olive press is preserved, makes this very unique. Plenty of room inside and outside. A car is necessary however because of the remoteness from Grassina and Galuzzo. Siobhan and Ian are very friendly and welcoming. Siobhan drove us to the nearest shops to point them out to us. Unfortunately the high temperatures in August made sleeping under the roof impossible, so we slept downstairs. The cat is very independent because of its cat flap. The dog was taken along with Ian and Siobhan to the UK. We could occasionally hear wild boar roaming in the olive growth at night. Ideal for exploring Firenze and the Chianti region.
We had the pleasure of house sitting for Di and Steve in the Wirral. It was a wonderful experience. We met the night before and had an absolutely great time with Di and Steve. They are fun, interesting and hospitable folk! The house is gorgeous and we felt like we were on a vacation in a spa to be honest. Lovely house, lovely area and so much to see and do. We would gladly 'sit' for Di and Steve again and would recommend them to anyone if they have the need for sitters again. Thanks and we are proud to consider you friends now.
Absolutely loved this sit. Such a beautiful location and Francois and Shanaz were very hospitable and helpful when introducing us to their home and also during the sit. The animals are amazing, we fell in love with the dogs who came on walks with us all the time and we’re so cuddly and friendly. The way of life on the farm was so relaxed and we enjoyed looking after the chickens and collecting eggs. We had everything we needed including use of the car to get into the local village and also staples to cook with. Thankyou for a wonderful experience for me and my daughter.
Aisling was so easy to work with! There was a sweet biscuits and tea setup on the table for me when I arrived. Pepper is definitely very energetic, which was sometimes difficult to manage during play and on walks. But when I was working or just relaxing at home, she’s happy to just lay close by or cuddle. Hitchin is an amazing little town that I completely fell in love with! I was working while there, and there were a few really great coffee shop options. I was there for 8 days and went to the Neighbourhood Bakes bakery almost everyday. I would be interested in doing another sit here if it was an option!
I had a great time. The place was lovely and good instructions were provided. Easy to communicate with Shannon.
