One of the best housesits we’ve ever had. Kris, Claire and the boys were so welcoming and happy to help us out in every way and easy to communicate with during the sit. Spikey, Fluffy, Ziggy and Gole were awesome housemates, always friendly and great couchmates in the evening. And just like the rabbits and chickens, were nice and easy to take care of. Mags and I were spoiled in Ghent, it is a beautiful city that isn’t on the tourist trail just yet, meaning we had all its sights more or less to ourselves, with some amazing choices of food and drink. Thank you soo much Claire, Kris, the boys and the cute and cuddley animal farm!
Karen and her family are lovely and very welcoming! Tuck is a sweetie, who loves being in your company and adventuring around Daniel Island. Tucker is definitely up for a long walk and a great exercise companion! Daniel Island is a great place to explore with Tucker and I highly recommend a visit to the riverside park! Karen’s house had a wonderful feel of home, and while we were very close to Charleston it was also really nice to relax at the house. The home is in a great community and everyone seemed really friendly! We were able to easily access Charleston and we also went to Sullivan’s for the beach. Sullivan’s is very dog friendly, and the beach is filled with pups in the morning hours **check hours for when dogs are allowed**. Would happily hang with Tucker again :)
Pets: Taking care of Dilla and Cosmo was an absolute joy. They are charming, curious, humorous, sociable, cuddly, and (mostly ;)) well-behaved kitties. During my three-week stay, we developed a strong bond, and they followed me everywhere, even to the shower. Dilla often sat on the other side of the shower curtain and would join me in the tub afterward. She also loved perching on my shoulder—what a shame I never tried taking a stroll with her up there. Maybe the next sitter can give it a shot. But the sweetest thing of all was waking up to find them cuddled next to me. Needless to say, we were all quite sad to say goodbye. On my last day, they stuck by my side—they knew I was leaving. Sniff, sniff. Host: Barney is a welcoming and attentive host. We communicated well during the sit. It was clear to me that he cares deeply for his kitties and truly devoted to them (as I am). Accommodation: Ah, Barney, Barney, Barney, I know you're a busy bee and sometimes we overlook what's right in front of us. But how about bringing in someone for a touch of housekeeping, so that everything runs smoothly? Meanwhile, as much as it pains me, I might have to dock one star from your category rating. So sorry. All in all; Five stars overall untouched. Recommended.
Carey and Micky were very warm and welcoming; Carey went to a lot of trouble to make our room great and left us a treat to welcome us. Jazzy was the perfect old lady and we loved walking her along the river. She even occasionally went into a trot, which was hard to keep up with. Marley was a friendly sociable cat once she has got to know us, especially at meal times. Lostwithiel is a quaint Medievil village with lots to explore and close to the tourist town of Fowey witch has lots to offer.
Oh is was such fun at the Flint House. The place is wonderful but Ben is in a league of his own for quirkiness. Just such fun. We met in advance and really liked Jacquie and Charlie - staying in their house was as splendid as we expected
Treen, Pixie and Scout gave me a very warm welcome. The house is lovely and i especially enjoyed sitting on the verandah watching the dogs play together. The dogs have great personalities and are always up for a cuddle. The house is an easy walk to Coles and other shops. I enjoyed some lovely drives and walks. I highly recommend this sit for great doggie company in a beautiful area.
