Valerie advertised her sit with a “sweet” dog. Valerie did not disclose Makana’s aggressive history until my arrival, which included having recently bitten a stranger standing next to her car, attacked a neighbor’s cat during her last sitters visit, and killed a dozen of the neighbor’s chickens, pigs, mongoose, and sheep. Valerie said if I went to the car without her (with Makana inside) she could be aggressive towards me. When I asked how I’d know Makana wouldn’t attack me when I’d go to the car myself after Valerie left she said "I told her to behave and listen to you" and therefore, she assumed I would be safe. During my sit, Makana attacked a neighbor’s dog, that same neighbor let me know Makana had tried to kill his dog before, Valerie did not let me know of a past between them until day 4 of my sit. Makana also snapped at my hand while feeding her. Valerie also disapproved of my safety precautions and harshly scolded me when I locked my bedroom door for safety and accidentally got locked out. (She prefers it to stay unlocked although the house stays open through a door with no lock through the garage) Valerie also did not have any license plates on the front or back of her car which was not known until my arrival, I thankfully didn’t get pulled over. Finally, Valerie displayed poor communication and expectations of the sit, including the care of houseplants and additional housekeeping chores. I did not feel safe at this sit, due to the lack of safety measures and the behavior of the dog.
I had a lovely time housesitting for Marika. Tofu was hesitant at first but warmed to me in no time. He’s very friendly and likes company, but seemed perfectly happy to be left alone for a few hours. He’s super energetic and likes to do “parkour” jumping on all the furniture, so as advised by Marika, I made sure not to let him onto the balcony. He also didn’t drink much water, so I would keep an eye on that and add some to his food. The flat was lovely, nicely decorated, amazing sunsets every night from the balcony. A 5 minute walk from the underground, with super quick connections into Central London. Loads of restaurants, shops and food stalls right beside the building. A bustling area but you can’t hear a thing from inside the apartment. Communication with Marika was great. Super friendly and relaxed. Would happily house sit for her and Tofu again. Thanks for having me!
Loved my time with Willow and Burrito! They are both so sweet! The home is very spacious and open. It was wonderful to relax and spent time by their pool in the backyard.
We had the best time sitting with Mig and Mooney for Dave and Joby! 😁 They are two of the nicest, most interesting and welcoming people. Their home is spacious, peaceful and has everything you'd need for a comfortable stay. Mig is such a great big sister to shy little Mooney and once you are accepted into the pack, they are the sweetest little kitties you'd ever care to meet! We feel like we have made new friends and look forward to going back again the minute we have the chance. 😊
Margarita and Daniel are super kind people, they explained me everything with details and recommended me places to visit around the village. Cats are amazing, super quiet and so lovely. The house is great and the location is wonderful!
We had a great time looking after Toby and Polly's pets and house. Buddy is one of the nicest natured dogs we have looked after. He was great on walks and loved meeting his friends(dogs and humans) on the lovely playing fields. The nearby woods offered another nice change of scene aswell. Indy the cat was a lovely soul, always happy to have a cuddle and no problem taking her downstairs at night when Buddy was shut away. It was our first time looking after guinea pigs but they were very easy to look after with lots of fresh vegetables. The house is nice (with a comfortable bed !) and is at the centre of a lovely friendly village with a coffee shop one side and the welcoming Social club the other. We would definitely recommend this house sit to anyone.
