Karen, Aidan, and Teresa, affectionally known as Bob, couldn't have been more welcoming. They made me feel like one of the family from the moment they welcomed me into their home. Karen fed me a delicious meal. Nothing was too much trouble. Oscar and Luis were well-behaved and joyful companions. Oscar ran the show, wanting to be by my side wherever I went, and always on the lookout for a treat or two. Gentle soul Luis took a little time to come out of his shell and enjoyed playing with his ball like a pup. I miss them both. The house is very comfortable and well situated in between Burnham on Sea amd Berrow, and only a short walk to the beach. I'd definitely recommend this housesit, and feel I've found new friends. Thank you!
What a wonderful place! It was a lot of fun working with the alpacas, they have such great personalities. As do the dogs and cats. I’m going to miss my walks with Ziggy! Thank you Jane and Stuart for a lovely week and we look forward to seeing you again 😃
I met Catriona at her amazing large garden out in the countryside and it was easy to find. She gave me good instructions about starting the generator that pumps the irrigation water and which plants require water. It’s a lovely oasis with fresh breezes and stunning views. The three cats out there are grateful for the food and company and one is even affectionate. Catriona is very sociable and introduced me to friends with whom we enjoyed the lovely sunset at the garden. I was able to follow her to Aniane so learned where to park and the route to walk into the village to her house. Dusty is a senior cat needing special care. She lives mostly on the dining table and a table next to it. She needs a lot of affection and reassurance and loves a good chat. She did vomit several times and would sometimes get disoriented and pee outside the litter box. Stan is handsome, silky and independent, coming and going through the laundry room window, but he will stop by for pets. When I arrived, there was a new cat in the neighbourhood, so Stan did some marking in the house that needed cleaning up and he does bring in geckos and birds. There was also a little visiting cat who needed shooing out of the house. So this sit is for true cat lovers who understand them. I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the delightful Catriona and spending time with her. I returned for another sit a week later.
We had a wonderful sit at Amanda's house in DC. Higgins is a very affectionate boy. Amanda gave us great ideas for where to take Higgins for walks, with some great tips for where there were trash cans en route. The location of Amanda's house was amazing. It is walking distance to so many museums and landmarks, and entry to all is free. Communication with Amanda was easy and she was very thorough with all the information we needed for the sit. We would sit for Higgins again in a heartbeat!
We were so glad that we could come to Ruth’s cozy house, we really like their garden! They are very friendly and kind couple, we just had met them in person before we left. León is a very funny cat, he has strong character, and he is very expressive. If he doesn’t like the stroke, he will definitely tell you with his pawns. He is very friendly with free spirit! We enjoyed our stay in Ruth’s place! Thanks a lot for everything. 😊
If you are fortunate enough to be chosen to look after Coco and Rocky, (if I am not available that is ;)) you will be entertained, loved in the most wonderful home looking straight across the estuary with beautiful walks either side of the front door. You couldn’t wish for a more generous and kind host , Adrian very kindly agreed for my son to stay as well so we had a wonderful time catching up,(as we hadn’t seen each other for 18 months) and the fun walks and ball throwing sessions just made our days even more special. Burnham on Crouch off season is magically quiet , however everything you need is on your doorstep. I would jump at the chance to return as these two gorgeous spaniels will always hold a piece of my heart . Thank you again Adrian , it was an absolute privilege and pleasure .
