Juju the Bengal kitty is a charmer. She has the most adorable quirks like talking while she eats. Adorable. Kathryn is super cool and the house is a nice set up especially if you want to get some work done. I’d go back!
Jilly and Dom are kindly and hospitable hosts who welcomed us to their home with a delicious vegetarian dinner on our first night. Jilly had thoughtfully placed a vase of flowers in our bedroom and left a pretty arrangement of Hellebores on the dining table. They have expended much effort in transforming an old house with wonderful views into a stylish, warm and comfortable home. Bonnie is the most beautiful, sensitive and loving a Cocker Spaniel that you will meet. Highly intelligent and well trained, she knows all her commands and enjoys the mental stimulation of games and tricks. Outside she walks well on the lead and is not at all bothered about any amount of rain or mud, always alert and sniffing out the next scent that catches her interest. She meets friends, neighbours and other dogs with an enthusiastic welcome and loves everyone. She is very affectionate and likes a cuddle and human company but can also be left in her indoor crate or outdoor kennel for several hours. A real joy to care for, you look forward to seeing her each morning, matched by her enthusiasm in greeting you. There is a great variety of local produce available within a short walk of the house. We bought cheddar, sourdough bread, Cider and Perry from the local cheese farm, free range eggs from another local farm and milk from the village dairy. Everything about our stay was joyous and we would highly recommend sitting Bonnie for Jilly and Dom.
This was an absolutely wonderful sit! Tula and the kittens are sooo sweet. The hardest part was missing them when I left! Cynthia’s home is beautiful, comfortable and in a great neighborhood with fantastic walks right out the door. Tula is easy to walk and very mellow. The sit was perfectly organized and communication was fantastic. Cynthia and her family were wonderful, warm, lovely people. I highly recommend this sit!!
Hands down, if you come here as a sitter - you will not regret it! We spent a week house sitting the 5 cats, 16 chickens, 7 turkeys, and countless guineafowl, all of which T&M made sure we were comfortable with handling before they left on their trip. We arrived the day before (highly recommended) as we settled in and walked over the routines together. Terry then made us an incredible dinner and we shared traveling stories - constantly in awe with the inspiring and exciting life which they have led. With their farm nestled outside of Durham, it felt like an oasis. Our deck where our airstream was parked overlooked a calm river perfect for a warm day’s dip, and the chickens and cats frequently visited us while we worked during the day. Max worked in a spacious loft and Nina in the airstream, and we faced no problems with WiFi, though cellular connection is weak there. Luckily, we had no need for it and was able to work remotely and handle all the chores just fine, communicating w T&M throughout as they were responsive to any questions we had. As for responsibilities, there are quite a few but easy to pickup. We started our days around 6/7am with feeding the cats, watering the plants and letting out all the birds from their coops. Afternoon was just cat feeding, and evenings were spending an hour or so feeding all the animals, collecting chicken eggs and bringing the birds back into their coops. I have to say, I’d love to come back. The chickens are so curious loved to peek into the airstream and some let us pick them up. The cats too, especially Pooter and Tater, were so lovable and always wanted to be pet and cuddled, happy to just spend time near us. Tommy the male turkey will bring you laughs with his mating calls, and the garden will give you a delicious meal if you wish. Thank you T&M for a wonderful stay and keep in touch :)
Just a perfect sit. Beautiful house, wonderful dog and lovely hosts. Couldn't ask for more.
Thank you firstly for your warm welcome and for making sure I had everything I needed, with detailed information for the cats, house, shops and interesting places to visit during my stay. The cats are lovely. Ozzie quickly became my new best friend, always came in at night when I called and was jumping up on my lap for cuddles by the evening by the 2nd day. I admit to being nervous about looking after Pixie, with her age and medication but I needn't have worried. She is indomitable and more active than I had expected. She took her medicine without a fuss and my main job was keeping her water bowl topped up and checking on her regularly. I was surprised how easily she managed the stairs, up and down to the litter tray, occasionally helping herself to some of Ozzie's food on the way. I was touched when she came to miaow goodbye when I left. It was the only time she came into my room. Oh, for future sitters, if she vanishes, I found she can open the door to the shirt cupboard and chose to sleep at the back of that, hidden by the shirts, when the weather was hot. Your house and garden are lovely and I had some great trips out and about - to Slimbridge, Gloucester and Stroud - a beautiful part of the world. Thank you for trusting me with your pets and house.I will happily return!
