Beautiful remote experience just 40 minutes from Tamarindo! If you like being in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by a 360° view of the sea and mountains, this is the place for you. The house is brand new and wonderful, with a big swimming pool, a well-equipped kitchen, and fast wifi. The weather is hot, but we almost didn't use the air conditioning because there are fans everywhere. You can also enjoy the pool a lot (Boss loves it). I could work online without any problems; power outages are very rare and brief. We didn't have a car, so we bought all our groceries for 2 weeks before arriving and didn't leave the house during our stay. You can rely on very helpful neighbors if you need to go to Tamarindo, though. Communication with Christine and Marc was great. Christine picked us up and took us to the supermarket in Tamarindo to buy our food before heading to the house. On the first day, they showed us around and explained everything we needed to know (pool maintenance, water tanks, cleaning supplies) and ended the day with a beautiful dinner together. Let's talk about Boss now! He is a big Weimaraner, but he is so sweet and always willing to play with his ball. He eats twice a day and has two walks per day too. The rest of the time, he loves to play in the garden/pool and rest. He is a big boy but is very afraid of storms, so you'll have to pet him and stay with him during those times. He always listens to you and is very smart, except when he sees some wild animal and his hunting instinct kicks in. You'll need to keep an eye on him, especially with the toxic toads that live around (but they normally only come out at night when you're inside). He also loves to sleep with you :) In summary, it was a very relaxing experience enjoying nature, sunrises, sunsets, or just chilling by the pool with the sea view and playing or walking with Boss. We really enjoyed it and highly recommend this sit!
Looking after Zoe and Murphy in Apollo Bay was a dream! They were both so well behaved and clearly well loved so they didn’t give me any trouble at all. Both dogs are very cuddly and welcome company and attention. Sandy made sure they had enough food and supplies (poo bags were a must lol) for the entire time and left a very detailed info sheet for me so I could reach out to people in the area if I needed an extra hand. Even taking Murphy to the Vet was easy thanks to Sandy being easy to reach (despite being in a different time zone) and the help of local friends. A side note to looking after the dogs, the house was well equipped and spacious and just steps away from the beach which was a dream! I would absolutely look after Zoe and Murphy again in fact I can’t wait :)
I loved my stay at Marcy’s place with her sweet funny Siggi. Great neighborhood of Seattle and a wonderful house with a fenced backyard. Siggi is a great companion. Easy to snuggle, loves to chase hIs balls and fun to walk. He’ll remind you when it’s dinner time. Loves to eat! Very silly and sweet. Marcy kept in touch and was easy to communicate with. I would sit again for Siggi and Marcy. Highly recommend!
Super easy sit for Barry and his very sweet lab Cosmo. Barry was a great communicator and responsive and helped this very cozy sit to go smoothly. Cosmo is a loving cuddler and a real charmer. Thanks Barry!
