At Valentina's request, we reluctantly agreed to her bringing her own small dog with her. We came to have the impression over time that Valentina did not seem to really understand our larger dogs or rural life. At one point, she texted and said that the dogs were acting erratic and anxious so she gave them a hemp CBD product to calm them down and help them sleep. We have not observed anxious behavior in our English Setters. (They are 100% purebred and AKC registered). Our younger dog can be hyper from time to time, but never requiring any type of pharmaceutical intervention. We told her not to give them anything for calming purposes. We don't know whether she gave them more of the product or not, but once we said no, that should have been the end. However, Valentina had left an empty bottle of the pills for us on our kitchen table with a note explaining this was the product she had described to us earlier. We found it to be most unsettling, since the bottle was empty. We will never know for sure if more were given to our dogs.
