Lovely sit. Robin and Emma are the nicest hosts and the pups are absolute loves. The house and area are perfect. I would do thos sut again💖
Sarah and Simons home is very comfortable. A detached house sitting in its own seven acres of peacefulness. It has everything you need and we were made very welcome and enjoyed our stay immensely. The dogs were a joy to look after, all with their own characters, but happy as a little pack together, especially when out walking together. Bella the older black lab is kind, intelligent and just lets you know what she wants. Dotty the dash is more independent, but equally at home on your lap. Finally we have Molly the puppy ( 7 months at time of sit) who is just what you expect from black puppy, full of joy, playfulness and looking for attention ( from both humans and Bella and Dotty) - who can resist that puppy face! Would not hesitate to recommend sit to others. Paul and Anne
It was a joy to housesit for this delightful couple. We fell in love with their animals and enjoyed going on walks with Mowgli while the cats trailed behind. Their house was quite spacious and comfortable. It had everything we needed including a garden with tomatoes! Evanston is a perfect community for a pet sit due to the proximity to Lake Michigan, public transportation, and downtown Chicago. It is bike-friendly with lanes and trails. There was a fantastic Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings. Their neighborhood is safe and convenient for all of the above. Summers in Chicago are wonderful! Elaine and Patrick are gracious hosts. Communicating with them was a breeze. We will miss Mowgli, Minerva, and Olive! We highly recommend this pet sit.
People are very generous with the 5-stars on this site, but this is an actual 5-star sit from the house to the hosts to the cat! It was the kind of sit you cross your fingers to find. Valerie and Brian are personable and communicative. They’re also thoughtful. The fridge and freezer had plenty of space for my groceries and there were empty drawers for me to use, fresh towels and sheets with everything already made up, and the house was spotless, which made it really easy to keep clean and tidy. The bed was the most comfort I’d slept on in a year of housesitting, the shower was fantastic, and the kitchen was well-appointed and easy to manage. Lucy the cat is beautiful and sweet, but very shy. She mainly hides under the bed in the primary, although sometimes I’d find her downstairs under the guest bed. I spent time on the floor at least twice a day laying down so I could play with her (she LOVES her peacock feather) and giving her contact time, petting her head and scratching under her chin. After a couple of days, she started to venture out a bit and was very vocal if it was dinner time. I tried picking her up a couple times, which she wasn’t a fan of, but we slowly moved the needle towards her feeling safe with me. After a few days, she’d let me pet her from the bed or from the couch when I was sitting and she could still run if needed. But I definitely encourage any sitters to take the time to connect with her m - not only does it pay off, cats really need that human contact. This sit was a nourishing respite from the world. The drive in and out of Portland is fairly easy if you need to go to town, but I preferred to stay at the house to rest and work. It’s so bright and airy and beautiful. I can’t recommend this sit highly enough. Valerie and Brian are two of the nicest, most down-to-earth and friendly hosts I’ve sat for. And Lucy was lovely.
This sit was such a pleasure. The house is so beautiful, very comfortable and tasteful, and in the most idyllic location. It feels quiet and away from it all, with the most amazing views of the hills, and yet is easy access to Harrogate if you can bear to drag yourself away. Plus a super-comfy bed, great shower etc, we felt very very spoilt and Lisa and Rob were very kind, generous and welcoming hosts. The dogs are both fab and lovely to spend time with in their own ways - Bella is a big old bear, quiet and well behaved, but happy to wag her tail and join you for a sit, a short walk, or an amble round the grounds. The kitchen door opening into the orchard means she has easy access for a little toilet break. She has some meds which Lisa had taken the trouble to write out and Bella takes them with her food with no issues whatsoever. Bob is more energetic, at around 3 years old, loves to play and carry his cuddly toy around with him and will walk a lot further or fetch his ball over and over again! His only vice (and who would blame him) is trying to get to food if there's any around - not whilst you are cooking, he's very respectful, but if you turn your back he'll be having a healthy sniff, so just as well to know this as the owners would rather train him out of any habits and definitely don't want him to be fed at the table etc! But he has SUCH a butter-wouldn't-melt face... Basically, an absolute joy to sit, we'd love to return, lovely house, dogs and owners in a very beautiful part of the world and would highly recommend to other future sitters.
I enjoyed this housesit very much thanks to the host’s thorough and friendly communication about their pets and their home. Basker is one of the sweetest dogs you’ll ever meet! He uses the doggy door to hang outside but also enjoys his walks. Sherri gave me the heads up about Maddie and encouraged me to not pet her as she’s unpredictable. I heeded her advice and all went smoothly. Their home is very clean and tidy! The neighborhood is safe and very friendly.
