Des and Stuart were very welcoming, taking time to explain everything about the house and the care of Maple and Judge before departing. The home is well located and if you’re a walker you can reach the tourist areas of Niagara Falls on foot. Maple and Judge are very easy to care for. Maple is a lap cat who loves to cuddle and be brushed. Judge is more aloof, but will often lay close by - not on a lap but tucked in behind or on the top of the sofa over your head. He loves to play and chase his toys. Des and Stuart were in the process of undertaking bathroom renovations so there was the inevitable lingering dust that comes with such projects. I mention this not as a criticism, but only as a caution to those who might be sensitive to dust when considering a future sit, but the project is nearing completion. Communication was excellent, and Des was quick to respond to any queries. We highly recommend staying to look after Maple and Judge in Niagara Falls!
Mark and Janice are the kindest, most wonderful people ever! Their house in Santa Cruz reflects back all the love and good times they have generated over the years, with beautiful art, plants, flowers, music, family pictures, comfortable furnishings, and just a great, easy-going, mellow vibe. It’s located centrally enough in Santa Cruz that it’s an easy walk or drive to stores, yet on a quiet street in a lovely residential neighborhood. Hobie was the star of our stay. Golden retrievers tend to be sweet-natured anyway, but Hobie was super sweet, well-mannered, and gentle. He was delightfully funny, too, with his special toys and attachment to Janice’s socks. Our time with him has been one of the highlights of our pet-sitting experience so far. Staying with Hobie at Mark and Janice’s house was a real treat. We cannot recommend highly enough. It was truly a wonderful experience!
Erica and her little loves are the absolute best! This was hands down one of my favorite sits! Her home is peaceful and safe, and the location is great! Super easy train connection and lovely little town square! Mable, Fred and Felicia are some of the most loving and easy to care for pets and I would love to watch them again someday! 10/10 recommend this sit! <3
This is a cat and garden lovers dream of a house sit. Beautiful, and very comfortable home, set in 2 acres of a stunning garden along with the company of 3 character cats. We received a very warm welcome from Jane and Angus on arrival. The handover is quite extensive - this is a large home with grounds. Tom and I very much appreciated the time Jane and Angus took to go over everything. Shadow, Tiggy and Molly are lovely cats. They will interact on their terms, particularly at meal times. It takes a while for them to allow you to pet them. Be aware Shadow and Tiggy do like to give you 'presents' of mostly dead mice. A couple of live ones - but Jane illustrated very well how to catch them. The house has a choice of comfortable sitting rooms, a well fitted kitchen and a desk in the Day Room where you could work. At the desk, you can hear the beck (stream) running by outside. Very relaxing. Our bedroom was extremely comfortable with an ensuite. We were very lucky with the weather. There is a vast choice of outside seating areas, plus a summer house next to the beck. Just glorious. You do need your own transport for this sit. Lots of places to visit - very pretty villages, the old town of Hull is interesting, as is Market Weighton and Beverley. Although you might be loathe to go out and just stay to explore Jane's beautiful garden.
Una &Alex have very friendly cats that like to wander in the backyard, but always come back to the sound of treats, the house is pretty much automated and it is a great neighborhood- I’d recommend that sit.
It was terrific to meet Katelyn and Eric, and care for Sierra and Sterling! Sierra and Sterling are too cute! Sierra does this cute dance and jump of excitement when she thinks you are taking her for a walk--it just makes you melt and make you take her for a walk right there and then. She is well behaved on walks and did not show any aggression toward other dogs or persons. I let her off the leash at a nearby off-leash park and had no trouble. She just walked along sniffing the world around her and it was easy to keep up with her. Sterling was easy to care for and fairly self-sufficient. He purrs and responds well to toys if you play with him. I had never given injections before. I saw the video Eric shared, and gave one shot in person with Eric there. I had no issues. He is very cooperative. Katelyn and Eric were wonderfully hospitable and thoughtful. Their home is lovely and their location is terrific. It was within walking distance of a metro and a park. I had a car and was able to find nearby parking with ease.
