This dynamic duo are super professional and are great communicators. My dog Yolo was apparently crushing on Lisa lol! Our sit went as smoothly as we could have asked for. Our neighbors even commented that they saw them walking them around the subdivision and they looked like they were happy and in good hands :) Would highly recommend without hesitation for them to care for your pets. Thanks guys for everything!
I loved everything about my sit! First Lisa and Fletcher welcomed me in their home so warmly as we shared dinner had chatted for the evening. After they left the next day, I did not feel alone for a bit, because Elwood and Marvel are just so lovely! They love cuddles and head scratches and they always kept me company! I will miss them so much. The house is also amazing with stunning views everywhere you look and do not even get me started about the home cinema and hot tub! I can just say I enjoyed my time to the fullest! There are also great options for hikes or walks around, where you can also take the dogs with you. The cherry on top was the last night when we all went to a pub with some other friends haha. Totally recommend to everyone!
Karen's home in Dorking is stunning. Surrounded by gorgeous woodlands, you'll have ample opportunity to take sweet Maddie & Lucy for walks in the forest. Try not to get lost! Maddie's recall is being worked on so there are lots of times she'll need to be on the lead. Be aware, that your stay will be much easier with a car, as Dorking (town) is a 15-minute drive. I had the best time looking after the girls & Karen was a pleasure to arrange the stay with!
Patrick and Luciënne were very kind, open, and hospitable to us! They were generous enough to have us come stay with them a few days before their departure. This allowed us to get comfortable with the routine, allow the dogs to get acquainted with us, and even share stories and wisdom over wine and food! They left us a detailed booklet of any information that they may have left out or anything pertinent that we may have forgotten. Even so, they were easy to contact if anything came up. Balou is indeed a fearless dog who is very comfortable and confident in his day-to-day activities and was no trouble at all to take care of. Lupa was fairly reserved when we arrived, which is where having the extra days helped immensely in her gaining trust with us. Taking care of Lupa requires a fair bit more attention regarding her anxieties, but she was very well behaved. Walking and feeding them both were quite straightforward. There is farmland and a creek behind their house with many paths which the dogs go around for their walks, and a small beach which they love on the hotter days. Garden keeping was also rather easy, sprinklers do a great deal of the work, with only the potted plants, veg garden and closer shrubbery to be watered by hand each evening. The garden itself is something out of a dream and has many seats to take in all its diversity. We enjoyed many evenings and afternoons sitting in the backyard with the dogs relaxing and taking in the view. The Blerick area and greater city of Venlo are beautiful village-like spaces, complimented by the river Maas and old buildings. It paints an almost idyllic picture of southern European living. Patrick had no trouble lending us some bikes during our stay which we happily took into the city centre to explore some of their favourite spots (be sure to check out the wine café)! All in all, we had a lovely time with Patrick and Luciënne. We had an incredible time and it was a privilege for us to housesit for them and we dearly hope to see them again!
For about two weeks we have looked after Theo & Lola in their comfortable villa, and we loved it! Arlene and Joe welcomed us on the first day, made us breakfast, provided us with thorough instructions, brought us to the supermarket to do some shopping, showed us around San Miguel de Allende, introduced us to their lovely neighbors, made us dinner and cocktails.. Wow! We have quite some housesitting experience, but never experienced such a warm welcome like this. They are so kind and we connected with them right away. Every morning Theo was ready for his walk, which goes through the gorgeous Rancho, which looks like a giant botanical garden. Since he is old he only needs one walk a day, but don’t think he is tired easily - because he will love to chase the ball in the garden and run and jump around. Such energy! He follows you around everywhere and he is just the sweetest. Lola is the most gorgeous supermodel cat you will ever meet, look at that fur, those eyes! A perfect pose in every picture guaranteed. Have we mentioned the cute meow? It is a whisper-like soft meow which melted our hearts on the first day we met her. All external admirations aside, she is so sweet - sitting on our lap while we’re working, joining us when watching tv, bringing us her toys when she wants to play. Marjolein really fell in love with her, if she could take her home - she would! Arlene and Joe’s home is so comfortable, bright and spacious. The pictures don’t do it justice. It was also really nice to be able to make use of the pool. We met with a few of their (also Dutch) neighbors, just as kind and welcoming as Joe and Arlene, which we spent quite some time with during our housesit. All of this made this an experience we will never forget, we are missing Theo and Lola already, so we hope to be back one day to visit them again. Thank you so much for everything, Joe and Arlene!
Philly is a generous, kind hearted and down to earth lovely lady. She invited me for lunch before the sit and gave me a lifts to and from Oxford bus station. I echo everything that's already been said about the cottage and it's location. The sound of tricking water from the ponds in the delightful garden added to the tranquil feel. Maisie (the cheeky hunter) and Morris the strong, graceful male, are adorable! Morris will keep you company in the evening, on the sofa. And Maisie will sleep with you at night. Both are happy to offer you their 'belly up' position for a soft, tummy tickle. Adorable. Highly recommended sit. Thanks you, Philly, Morris and Maisie x
This was a truly wonderful house sit!!! Tim and Andrea are kind, warm and genuine, and their home is absolutely beautiful! This was a truly wonderful “home away from home” and I couldn’t recommend this house sit more! And Hoku is just about the sweetest dog imaginable!!! Tim and Andrea are great communicators and left detailed instructions about dog and house-care and their home is clean and very comfortable. I highly recommend this house sit.
