Deanna and Steve were excellent in keeping in touch with me, both before and during the house sit. Dewey loved them and they treated him like a king. My home was left in perfect order and the lawns mowed prior to my return. They were extremely reliable and I did not have any worries that everything would be taken care of. I would strongly recommend them and gladly have them return any time in the future.
I had a lovely time with Summer and Jester at Melissa's place in York. Summer was a cuddlesome kitty who loved to lie on the bed in the morning until it was time to get up. Jester was more circumspect and took himself off most of the time but I think he was warming to me at the end! Melissa was a lovely friendly lady and her place right near the centre of York with plenty local shops was great. It was especially well set up for pet sitters working from home - like me!
I ended up staying two weeks caring for sweet Cleo, Pigeon, Sage and Raffles in Singapore. It was lovely, but also my most challenging sit. I was taking over from another sitter, as Dan & Sophie were in the UK. Some miscommunication and misinformation between them and the previous sitter made my stay overwhelming at first, as the situation and responsibilities were very different than described. I arrived to a dirty house, some things were broken, smelly dogs who were not well mannered on walks, and the youngest was peeing and pooing a lot inside daily. Lots of cleaning and training necessary, but all 4 animals became my close friends right away. Dan & Sophie were always available on the phone, great people, and we tried to find good solutions together given the circumstances. The dogs just want to be close to you, and little Cleo can charm anyone and wants all the belly rubs. Sage is a very chatty cat who's a bit naughty, and will steal food if you're not watching lol. And sweet Raffles just wants intense cuddles at all times. It was a busy couple weeks, and I understand it was difficult for the owners to know what was going on, as they had been away for almost 2 months prior. Me and the pets got into good routines after a while, and I tried my best given the challenges.
Jane and Roger are an amazing couple. We had the pleasure of spending a day with them before their trip and they walked us through the daily routine for Penny, Ollie, and Ninja, which allowed us to keep them on a consistent schedule. The dinner that Jane prepared was excellent and much appreciated after traveling for several days on the road. They also gave us a tour of their home and explained all of the mechanics of the house. We had a lot of fun with Penny, Ollie and Ninja. The house is very spacious and comfortable, and the views are amazing. I would recommend this sit to anyone looking to spend some time in nature as we spent a majority of our time outside playing fetch with Penny. The neighbors throughout the community were all very friendly and helpful. Ninja enjoys his privacy, but Ollie really enjoys belly rubs around breakfast time. Penny is a lovable pup and has several dog friends who will show up to play. Playing fetch outside in the snow was so much fun and a great way for Penny to burn off a lot of energy. After a day of play, she is happy and content to cuddle on the sofa for a movie night. We look forward to seeing them all again in the future.
We had a totally enjoyable stay at Gill and Francois' lovely home and grounds and with a wonderful family of animals - Brompton the very well behaved, attentive and affectionate Labrador, Bertie the elder gentleman Beagle who uses his big eyes to great effect, Twiglet, a lovely small cat spending her day inside the house, calling for attention when passing her resting spot, and Pringle, another friendly cat who called in for food service twice a day. There were also 3 characterful goats who became our friends, 3 sheep who warmed to us during the week and 2 ponies who loved getting a piece of carrot. The Ridgeway trail runs directly behind the garden and offers splendid walks through forests, open fields, farms and hamlets, with many far reaching views. The trail links with many other public paths through the countryside. Gill and Francois gave us a very warm welcome on arrival, showing us the house and grounds and animals and also left full notes and instructions. A wonderful sit - hopefully we can return for another one day!
Great housesit! It was fun playing with pawtrick in his bee toy! He had lots of other toys as well to keep him occupied of I didn't have to he energy to keep up with him. Easy feeding and cleaning litter box. In the mornings, after he settles down after breakfast, he gives the best cuddles!!!! 😺 Super cuddly while watching TV or reading as well. Brenna was so warm and welcoming and I'm so happy I met her! She has such good vibes in her cute, cozy house and she gave me a couple of good book recommendations from her collection. The house is in a really good location. Brenna also gave me some great life advice!!! I really appreciated it!!! :) I would highly recommend this housesit! :)
What a unique experience! Must love horses because you will be up close and personal with them. You must walk through the horse arena to get to the cottage and to take the dogs out. The views on the property are breathtaking and the cottage is so cozy. Jack and Roo are the sweetest dogs! I just love them.
